    Why doesn't justice Democrats reach out to Ralph Nader from time to time as a consultant on strategy, ways of moving forward/destroying the Democrats from the inside to start a new party(e.g macron)?. The man is a mountain of wisdom and you need to take advantage of it before it's too late.

    Ultimate respect for Nader. Brought out true consumer protection. Many of us wouldn't be alive without his contributions to society. We lost a great leader when he wasn't voted for during his run back in the day.

      Mckenzie .Latham It shows how an uninformed and uneducated public will vote against their own self interest. The entire world is completely stunned that there is a huge segment of your population that does not want universal healthcare. Its a massively beneficial policy for working/middle class americans yet Republicans have been brainwashed and misinformed into not wanting it. All it takes is good rhetoric, propaganda, and some charm. I'll admit, I dont know too much about Nader's run, but Ill assume his policies had the interests of americans in mind (judging by him being a warrior for consumer protections)

    • @sergiowolfpac
      @sergiowolfpac 7 років тому +3

      Are you familiar with US politics and the voting system? Gerrymandering, biased and financially controlled debates, and political bribes are just a few ways the democrats and the republicans control the voting system. You only hear about those two parties, but there are many more. Unfortunately for everyone, running as 3rd party is a guaranteed loss. The committee (republican/democrat run) didn't allow Ralph Nader to debate. When the democrats and republicans take in millions to fund their campaign, no one is exposed to 3rd party runners. For quite a while, no one knew who even Bernie Sanders was. I had to explain to many people who he was because they had never heard his name. Don't get me started on the electoral college. Al Gore won, and so did Hillary Clinton if we're looking at the popular vote. The entire system is broken and skewed heavily on runners who have the most money. And unfortunately for 90% of the population, the big money doesn't come from us. So no, losing does not mean the general population does not like your policies.

    Before Bernie, Ralph Nader was a true pioneer speaking truth to power. He has been a true consumer advocate fighting for the majority of us 99%ers. Because the few and powerful, being much more organized, have a much louder voice than us 99% since we can't seem to agree to unite. T

    • @jinnai1
      @jinnai1 7 років тому +9

      That was before everyone got their news on the internet. You are the one that doesn't seem to understand that politics is changing. And no one wins by laying down. Yes Bernie didn't win last time, but if he runs again he will. Of course you can bet against him, but in 2020, then you want corporate democrats/republicans to continue ruining this country. Saying someone doesn't understand politics, is just a cop out of not wanting to actually solve the problem.

    For me, I don't want the Democrat Party around any longer, just like I don't want the Republicans Party around, either. They're *both* evils this nation can no longer afford.
    We have to have plurality in American politics, and we also have to have a balance of power. The *only* way to make that happen is to have a coalition system with lots of different and vibrant parties.
    I'll support that kind of effort, and happily so, but I won't in any way support anything that helps either the Reps or the Dems.

    When the fuck did so many conservatives start watching and commenting on Kyle's videos? Not that I mind, but I can't be the only Secular Talk viewer whose noticing it on this video's comment section. Did this video get featured on some right wing show or something?

    • @filminginportland1654

      Brendon I. Because secularists aren't only progressive. Some are libertarians, some conservatives... and the show/channel is called *Secular* Talk :)
      Also, most conservatives and libertarians I know want to break free of the two-party system, which seems the only way forward for groups like this as well. So it's in ALL our best interests to create & support relevant, competent third parties without the trappings of corporate money or influence.

    • @DeepStateMarxist
      @DeepStateMarxist 7 років тому

      Yes but Secular Talk is a progressive based political channel, so it really doesnt make sense imo for a large amount of conservatives to follow this channel. Secular Talk is the name, but it mainly focuses on progressive/liberal politics. But i understand your point, and it is good to open up to other ideas. Overall, i dont care, i just thought it was odd, and that it was different from most of the other videos. And yes, getting money out of politics would be beneficial to virtually everyone.

      It's because those that are real believers are incredibly scared and insecure about their own convictions. It's projection. While others are paid trolls headed by people like David Brock and other Centrist/Conservative groups. Hillary actually spend a million bucks on trolls to work for her and spread misinformation during the primary. I wouldn't be surprised if she spent far more on that. That's how they do things, they got nothing substantial to win in the realm of ideas and they know it so all they can do is smear, smear, smear, and do some more smearing. It's pure desperation.

    • @DeepStateMarxist
      @DeepStateMarxist 7 років тому

      Yeah, it just seemed really strange to me to see all of these conservative/republican people on here. I honestly wouldnt be surprised if they are just a brigade of trolls, since they are relentlessly lashing out old and long since debunked right wing talking points without giving any original perspective, and theyre doing this all while maintaining an "i was a former democrat" motif. It honestly reminds me of the tactic when Christians claim that they were former atheists. Glad im not the only one who sees it though, it feels like its a ratio of 10:1 for conservatives to liberals in this comment section.

More money and more headaches, bleah! The only drawback to Medicaid I know of is that it's tied to the states. Make it a federal, i.e., nationwide program and you have a killer single payer system comparable to what civilized countries provide. Okay, so you may need to rename it. Mef.

    The exact same thing happened in the UK - economic changes meant the decline of Unions (really the decline in the power of labour against capital) in the 1980s and the Labour party's move from being financed by Trade Unions to being financed by rich donors (i.e. corporate finance), and the birth of 'New' Labour under Tony Blair (Bill Clinton without the scandals) and things politically have moved in a similar direction. However, I think the idea that this can be resolved by 'Money out of Politics' or 'Justice Democrats' is naively optimistic. Politicians want money, corporations have money, and corporations want influence and favours, and politicians have the power to grant these. Both sides have a powerful incentive to trade, and they do. As we are a money based society and cannot see what will be a counterweight to this. Regulations? That leads to regulatory capture, regulations favour big business!

    • @OtakuDragon42
      @OtakuDragon42 7 років тому +4

      +rickgarner2000 First of all, that wasn't Nader's fault, but the fault of Bush's friend in florida who committed election fraud and removed thousands of voters from the rolls, the fault of Al Gore who mocked them and chose Leiberman for his vp, and the fault of the Supreme Court for being bias. you're just repeating a Clinton talking point. 2nd of all, Nader actually pulled more voters from Bush than Clinton, so this whole "Spoiler Party" idea is false, and 3rd of all, blaming progressive voters who actually used their voice and voted rather than 100 million people who did not vote at all and sat at home, shows that you are only part of the problem and probably the real reason Bush won because of being an outright corporatist/neoliberal defender.

    • @OtakuDragon42

    The way I see it is Unions are dead and wont' come back the way they were but there lack of presence/influence has turned the political system over to Corporate interests. I think Justice Democrats/New Congress are tapping into the same thing Patreon and Kickstarter are tapping into. The ability to organzie online needs to evolve into a new type of body that hopefully can apply the influence that has been missing since the decline of Unions. Our online communities may be the evolution of what Unions were..hopefully the better part of what Unions used to represent.....any of his sound on track to anybody else?

Let's face it, they've successfully dumbed down America and Education is on the chopping block right now. Complex societies failed throughout history; we're on deck.....
      Our government has overthrown powerful nations, they will easily handle a few million rabble rousers in America....
      George H.W. Bush told us back in 1992 that the NWO was "....not about to make those same mistakes again..." (my interpretation is they won't to allow The People to control America and will undo the New Deal to rob the US blind). They tell you in doublespeak what they have, are and will do but nobody is reading between the lines. They own the Fed and can print endless petrodollars for themselves. Throw in Obama's suspension of habeas corpus with GITMO and you can lock anybody for anything with no evidence.
