I watched this song and i was like "So beautiful, but so hard! I can never do this :c" Then i just started playing it and while doing that i got so motivated by the song that i kept going on. I got through the hard parts and now i can play it. I'm telling you guys, it's definitaly worth it!!
Wow, dude nice! Took me a minute into the video to realize that this audio wasn't ripped from the video of him playing. This is probably one of the best transcriptions I've seen. Dynamics do wonders.
I'm gonna practice this the wohle summer, hopefully I perfect this song. Wish me luck 😁😁😃 edit: yo its 2022, i totally forgot about updating loool i played this at a family reunion wayyy back then. havent touched the keyboard for a while so im little rusty. took me two summers to do the whole thing, but i finally did it !! you reap what you sow !!
I seriously hope that Deadmau5 have not become to big to one day stumple/stumble? upon this awesome piano version of his awesome track here on UA-cam, and still be grateful that there are people in this world who are such huge fans of the really good Mau5 music from "back in the days" that they make a piano version this awesome! Thank you for this, you are now my new piano god Mr. Evan Duffy!
Isn't that what lots of music creation is? I got these notes, what if I used these instruments to play them, what if I modify the sound of the instruments? listen, change settings, re-arrange the notes a little, add a few more notes. Seems very creative.
Had to shorten it a bit because I'm lazy, but I'm happy to say after a solid year or two of starting and giving up on learning this I've finally made it 4 minutes in. Broke a sweat after playing for a few hours.
I've been hoping that someone would transcribe Evan Duffy's arrangement to MIDI for ages! I cannot thank you enough for doing this, finally I can learn to play the song like my idol does! Synthesia is one of my best tools for learning music, right beside my own two ears. THANK YOU!
@Rocket Drifter How are you able to download this into synthesia? I'm not able to find a link where I can save this to a folder and get it into synthesia
Arunisrelativelycool ahmm well the amounts of time I practice really variate. Sometimes I play everyday for a week, sometimes I dont play for 2 months. I got it in 2.5 years but I didn't practice that much on it. If I practiced more/ only calculate thr amount of time I put into it, I'd have gotten it in a few months I think
Judging by your website we would get along pretty well... My god, Coldplay, Madeon, Porter, deadmau5... even Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, that's impressive
I can just play my fav part from 4:40 to 5:30 whole day :P Yeah i need to learn whole but for some reason I always learn my favourite parts first and then sometimes i am too lazy to learn the rest :(.
Love the intro and climax of course. Very easy intro to play but odd structurally. Hard to say where a meter starts and ends, you just kind of get into a cycle and it keeps going
I've been practicing this song for at least 3 months now, almost every day...still really hard for me to grasp...hopefully 3 more months i will get it down
@@mcgrey_ I kinda understand, I get like that sometimes. For example, Zohar's Corridors of Time is an extremely difficult song for me. Every time I think I learn a part and listen to it again, I find that there are some parts that I missed, so I have to relearn certain parts of it.
I just spent a few hours learning the first part of the intro. I've played guitar and bass for years but I'm trying to get good at the piano for music production.
I know cat videos are more up everybody's alley but If you have a few minutes, I'd love to get your thoughts on my songs/videos. I'm always trying to improve. I know how busy we all are and truly appreciate you taking a moment to watch. Thanks! Tiff
There are some additional notes around 4:56 that don't belong. I can't figure out what it should be yet, but its throwing off the beat by a half step. This song is great otherwise! Thanks!
I've been working on this for a while now... Using a metronome helped me. Learn each hand, then combine both hands. Start slow and only speed it up when you can play at that speed without making any mistakes. Amazing song, worth the struggle!
Think you can do Evan's version of Too Close, by Alex Clare? My jaw hit the floor when I heard his version of it. There's a million different elements at play that make it a wonderful piece. The timing structure alone was...we'll just say it's impressive. Big fan of your work by the way, I don't really care for electronica music but you've turned me around when it comes to the piano cover versions of it!
a masterpiece. i still listen to this song 10 years later
It's been 7 years tho
@@Saintzel nah it was released in like 2009. The original anyway. Idk about the evan Duffy remix

You are trying too hard mate.
Must such having small hands

This the sound track for the next ten years of my life
Was the soundtrack for the last ten years of my life and i will gladly pass the torch to you
It sure was mine from the last ten years xD
this is the perfect song to learn when starting out because it gets gradually more difficult
I can't image how Dm5 is so fantastic. #deadmau5 #strobe
I up to 4:00 so far. Absolutely amazing song.. Still learning but fun every step of the way.
kbrebel04 did you learn?

This is insane.. That Evan Duffy can both compose and play this is just incredible...
Idk why this makes me wanna cry
I love music like that. If I truly let go I could bawl my eyes out during multiple songs on the piano. That's the vibes baby!
strobe gets me like 🥲😭🥹
I've got the first minute done. For a duck it's pretty impressive.
Impressive. Give yourself a pat on the back...if that's even possible...I don't know much about your kind..
Have u learned the whole song yet?
Did you learn the whole song
I really love how the switching between left and right hand does resemble the flickering of a strobe
techno and piano versions, perfection.

Took me three days to learn it.
I do not play the piano/keyboard, but I swear I'll be able to play this by the end of July. And I mean by memory.

@@redwingblackbird8306 yup
Well it's all music theory, but his creativity and execution is the most beautiful part
@@niveous5392 the thing is, he doesn`t know anything about usic theory, thats why its so impressive
he clicks around in the piano roll till it sounds good lol
Does anyone else notice after focusing on the video, your vision seems to stretch laterally.
NO
yes
yes omg i thought im going crazy
I thought it was a special effect from the program :p
that also happens when I play guitar hero for too long
I honestly believe strobe is the most beautiful song ever written.
up to 1:18 with only being able to do the orange notes Edit: up to the same point, but with both hands :D
Are you dumb

I have to agree, some parts of this song are really stretched and repetitive, I also shortened some passages in the middle
I'm going to try and learn this, many mistakes shall be made

how did you do?

as it should be

Sorry to hear. I hope you can get it back. I loved your version and I can't find a comparable video anywhere! All of your videos are awesome!

this song gives me so much nostaglia i literally just fucking bawled for the last 4 minutes of the song
After many hours of practicing and never really having touched a piano before I've got the first part down. At 1:17 when the chords come in I'm out :|
It should give you goosebumps, because it's a masterpiece.
nice work!
Imagination and the ability to count and or course the will to create ❤
This proves how talented Evan Duffy is
The chills are strong with this one
Just fucking love transformation 6.45 onwards..

beautifull!
I swear the whole section starting at 4:43 is wrong cause there's like an extra beat at the end of each bar, it's different to the original 😒
Noticed that too.. happens again in the intense part of the bridge. It's been bothering me since this awesome cover came out..six years ago.
Good, I'm not the only one. Thought maybe I was going crazy. I'd love to figure this out because my brain trips up when I get to this point.
Miss my bro Jory he taught how to play half this song
