Sennheiser beat xm5 not only on sound, battery, comfort but also on price. It’s down sides are app, anc, and mic But it’s doable and good enough for me to pick it every day.
Hey there. I’m also completely bald and for me it’s been really comfortable. I initially felt some discomfort but I adjusted the headband so that it doesn’t press down on the top of me head. Just enough to keep the cups in position. This significantly improved the comfort and now I can use it on flights for 8 hour straight without any issues.
I love my pair, and in terms of sound I much prefer them over the XM4s even when stock. The bumped mids and extended smoother bass gives it a warm but warmer sound. XM4s had trouble with overdone mid bass.
I wish i could trust sony. But it seems like they last a year and after that you either have horrible battery problems or horrible noise cancelling problems. But there stellar until then.
I had to return 6 pairs of QC Ultras because of creaky headbands and ear cups. Got the XM5s on sale and hopefully these don’t have those issues though the ANC isn’t as good
I've yet to hear a Bose with decent noise handling for calls. The XM5 does a decent job there. The only reason to consider the XM5. I can't stand paying so much and sound like crap on a call. We don't live in studio environments. These headphones should adapt rather than the other way around.

I actually had to take my xm5s back because of the headband. Only because as a newly bald man. There was no cushion, very uncomfortable.

Hey..
Don't you think such a flagship headphone should come with parametric eq??
I would love that ...and giving the option would be better ..But I'm guessing a vast majority of people won't use it. Would be cool though.
Which one is more louder
Great review. I have the xm5's and I also love the touch controls :)

If you extend the xm5 neckband you will hear squeaking sound from also you just have to put your ear near it
