    Adam, if you read this.
    I'm born and raised in L.A., I'm and LAFD firefighter. Even lived in the Palisades for as kid for a little while.
    All I can say, is most of us hve/are doing everything we could do to save homes, it's in our DNA. Three specific failures; 1. Incompetency due to DEI in management and Frontline firefighter rank. 2. Incompetence in infrastructure, we had no water. 3. Lack of personnel, we don't have enough firefighters and resources.

    I live in Sonoma County, CA and when we had our MANY fires from 2017, 2018, 2019 & 2020, none of these people in Hollywood were trying to stop award shows in order to donate money to fire victims. They weren't screaming at the top of their lungs about the extreme mismanagement of forest management throughout the state. They weren't screaming at the top of their lungs about the ineffectiveness of current infrastructure. They are only outraged when it affects them directly and makes THEM a victim of these atrocities. Only now are they saying that Gavin Newsom sucks. Only now are they saying that the democratic elected officials suck. Only now are they saying that all of these DEI departments are ineffective. They've only shoved it down our throats for decades by donating major $ to these democrat campaigns that have created these conditions. Maybe now they'll wake up.

    Adam I just wanted to thank you for telling your story concerning the LAFD. I spent 15 years as a volunteer firefighter here in New Jersey where 90% of the departments are independent volunteer departments. Same story waited 7 year already had all the certifications. I stopped trying after the 2 nd time I took the test and passed when they hired a 5 foot 140 pound woman of color who was also a daughter of one of the fire fighters.

      I go to work and deal with a screaming DEI hire. The other managers are all scared to fire her, literally hide from her.
      Watch DEI customers loot our store for 8 hours. We have hanes underwear in locked cages.
      Get home and no mail because the lgbt poc lady stuffs it in my neighbor's box every single day.
      Turn on the TV to escape... Every channel is more of them telling me how I can be a better ally and celebrate their superiority.

      @fallenskybird 13 днів тому

      @@ryanohara7690 Then, count yourself among the lucky ones who got out; and maybe you're also fortunate that it was only due to substance abuse. If you had been on the streets, you'd know that there are tons of reasons why people end up there; with drug addiction only being one of them. Having worked in a shelter, and having met people on the streets in Santa Monica, one comes to realize how lucky one is to have grown up in a 'somewhat' normal semblance of a family. Adam makes networking sound like it's a piece of cake ---- and in actuality ---- it's not; and for the homeless ---- it's a rough road. In reality, if it weren't for his lucky break to have been Jimmy Kimmel's boxing trainer, he, himself, may have still been installing carpets and flooring, or doing carpentry ---- where his skills now would definitely come in handy during the rebuild. He's narcissistic ---- everyone knows it. Nevertheless, it was his bullying nature of constantly shutting Dr. Drew down on Loveline that actually made him famous. ---- Sometimes people are rewarded for their not so great characteristics.

    Your experience when you were 19 years old, getting turned away from applying to the fire department was heartfelt to me. Going through yet another drought year of unemployment in Cali in the early 90’s, IOUE local 12, I had to move back home to live with mom. Like you, I was athletically fit. Saw a billboard LAPD hiring. 🤔 They took my application, and came in for a written test. Afterwards, I was told that my English wasn’t up to par. There was a table full of black males who I overheard yak’n, not being able to understand ebonics myself, I watched stunned, as they all walked through the door to oral phase room. So I proceeded to take some more college courses to try becoming a nurse. I took a college English 101, and received an ‘A.’ BTW, when class began, it was standing room only. Also, I found out when applying for classes that being black, Asian, Pacific Islander, or whatever else would get precedence over me, da white dude. Anyway, thanks Adam Corolla. Do you think it's funny to make fun of elderly people who don't have a network because many of the people they knew have already died, or are having problems making ends meet themselves?
      The junkies may be the most visible homeless people, but there are plenty of homeless people who do have income, but not enough to pay the crazy prices for rent these days.
      There are people working full-time jobs who live in vehicles because of the lack of affordable housing.

    Thanks for reaching out Adam. Regarding the power poles, in my 50s I've lived in coastal south Mississippi my entire life and every 30 to 40 years we get a whopper hurricane that takes down the power poles en masse. The city I live in has two large neighborhoods with buried power and they always get powered up way before us heathens with the old creosote power poles. Makes no sense to me because our big expensive homes on the beach are Pole power and the buried power is for 1970's Brady Bunch neighborhoods 2 miles away from the Gulf. Love your show everyday, MAHALLA

      the large beach homes get destroyed every 30 to 40 years so maybe thats why they dont bother with burying.

    love you, Adam. I evacuated the hurst fire. I'm still reeling from it but of course when I talk to my Vietnam POW dad about it, all he says is "Well, i once had to eat pumpkin soup and rat feces in my rice for 5 and a half years." I'm a chick so I'm about to go Furiosa in terms of working out. I really needed all my strength to pick up my dogs and run out of my house. The firemen fighting Hurst need to be recognized for saving all our homes here! My dad was smart enough to get me fire insurance on this place last month, too. I'm a lucky girl.

    In 1970, I moved to the Angeles Forest in Southern California. The forest rangers were the "good old boys" who practiced brush clearance and fire prevention. They had controlled burns, allowed commercial fire wood companies and the public to cut dead wood for firewood and practiced brush clearance. They kept the fuel source down and the result was the normal fires that happened every year were easily contained. Then along came the environmentalists to the forest service. They believed that the forests should remain natural and the least amount of humans should be allowed in their forests. The result is large amounts of fuel sources that allow fires to rage out of control. ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES AND MISMANAGEMENT ARE THE CAUSE OF FIRES RAGING OUT OF CONTROL, NOT CLIMATE CHANGE

      Well that … and these particular fires are planned events. They needed to efficiently clear the land for the 2028 Olympics and 15-minute cities. They are about to get boo coo dollars from the feds. This is land clearing and a heist. And people don’t know that because they don’t pay attention.
