Bless Gio. He simply hasn't found the lady to make his heart sing or leap, or make him uncontrollable with emotion. When that happens, he'll realise what true love is.
Rose has come the absolute closest to giving him the ideal of what true unselfish love can look like, particularly when we've seen him an emotional mess over his dance partner, which we've never seen before or that he's openly stated on TV that he loves Rose. It should be pointed out that just because he's openly stated that he loves Rose, it doesn't necessarily mean he's in love with her (but if he is in love with Rose, he'll guard himself because she's not available and will channel his love for her into their close friendship), but it's pretty close run thing. If she was single, he'd have put the world at her feet to win her over - guaranteed.
Yes he's had short term relationships (Georgia and Ashley) or a few months of fun (sorry Maura, but this is you and the others that only lasted months or weeks), but this isn't really true love, but more a fixation.

I would love to know if he still doesn’t know what love is. That is an old recording of him talking to Aljaz. A lot has happened since then. Rose came into his life and as he said she has opened my eyes to many new things. She is like a tonic for him. We have all witnessed a new lovely Giovanni❤️🌹🦎❤️

I liked Aljaz when he first came on strictly paired with Abbey and I did feel a bit sorry for Giovanni when he first came on hardly able to speak a word of English all to be paired with a Mancunian! Bless him he had to relearn the English language. 😊
Apparently janette had “words” with abbey saying “keep away from my fella” but the bonds between A&J were too strong and Abbey went on to have another baby with her husband Peter.
I do hope Giovanni will find someone he will fall in love with and for that love to be returned.
