If the country didn’t cut so many Mangrove trees, there would be less erosion and less salt water seepage
Or if your politicians stopped blaming ordinary people for driving gasoline cars while they go to there meeting in a private jet or they use a “EV” that gets its electricity from coal plants and have to literally blow up the earth to get the materials to make the shit ass battery that doesn’t last and pay little kids Pennie’s to mine it. Maybe or just maybe it’s the leaders spewing complete bullshit about how Americans are destroying the earth with there carbon footprint, while they do nothing to change the laws or hold other countries accountable
We can act now, but our politicians are too busy getting bribed by various industries and lobbyists... not to mention their general incompetence.
Billions from big ag, they even tried to get a law passed so they can't get sued...imagine? And guess which states wanted to pass it? They weren't blue ones, let's just say that...

We can act in America until we're blue in the face, we aren't even near the top of the list for carbon emissions.

I think you missed the point of the video... WOMEN are most affected by it.
@@beayn How is anything I have said suggesting women are not affected?
I hate to say it, but I'm pretty certain that arguing womens bodies are at risk is quite literally last on the list of ways to convince Republicans to take action on the topic
Crazy how still births and miscarriages are tragedies, but abortions are still empowering.
Can I get an Awomen!? They swapped out 'AGW CO2' for 'Climate Boiling! and nobody noticed. But Climate Boiling! has sure done wonders for Bud Light sales! 😂🎉
You're the problem my dude... Still too focused on partisan solves. Separate your self from a party and help people follow, don't vote "Democrat, or Republican" Vote for YOUR representative. Maybe we would get shit done if people like you stopped following parties.
But then you remind them you carry fertile eggs. It's seemingly like fuckin caviar to Christofascists.
And stemcells. Cant forget those.
Except they will just reply "next question" and ignore your inconvenient point anyways.
Nah they're just tired of hearing the same old "women most affected" by everything. Now you're taking the biggest natural crisis in history and saying "women most affected".
Next we'll see "Men's suicide rates up, women most affected" actually may have seen an article about that already.
What kills me is that we have known for ages that getting even a lower-level of overheated leads to pregnancy complications. Performers who happen to be pregnant have to keep an eye on their vitals not just because of physical exertion but because many of the venues they perform in/at don't have air conditioning, HVAC, or even adequate shade. Summerstock theatre, carnivals, fairs, festivals, concerts, reenactments, exhibitions. You name it.
When I worked in theatre prop construction, some of us mounted small thermometers to inconspicuous places in the sets and larger props so we could keep track of how hot it was getting on stage (because even with modern tech, the lights on stage make things very hot, very quickly). If things climbed above 95 degrees F, we rescheduled or canceled the show because it wasn't safe. (Plus, no one wanted to get sued for causing someone to miscarry, have a heart attack, or go into pre-term labor.)
The fact that it should be common sense that "heat exhaustion/heat stroke is bad" but somehow isn't baffles the hell out of me.
Ever notice how few grocery store parking lots, or shopping mall parking lots, have adequate shade trees? I find it infuriating.
Yeah. Bad for all human bodies of any gender. Thinking of all those men working out in the hear. Who nature has deemed don't matter. Who will die earlier on average. Thinking, hmmm this universe is cursed.
I lived in Las Vegas for 8 years. I was so disappointed that they're still bickering over the Colorado River when what they need to be doing is quadrupling down on desalinization plants and building a piping system that leads into the arid states.
We need foresight but we only ever get band-aids...
Thank you for talking about this- nobody else is
Yeah all human bodies are stressed by heat. Like those men working out in the heat to build everyone's comfort...
Desalination why can’t we do that? Plenty of others do it why can we not do that?
"We were half the problem, fix it for us!"

"If you finance research to look, you will inevitably find."
If you hypothesise & search for connections to climate change, you will find them, publish them & promote your work - no matter how small it is, compared to other issues relating to everything else people on this Earth struggle with - a million effects relating to economic, health, social interactions (crime, among others). You are a researcher, and are developing your career, to put food on the table for your loved ones, after all. ^^
Very few are funded to put things into perspective - to deeply analyse how important it all is, in relation to other problems humans face.
There is also a profound lack of voice given to those who later on disprove similar studies as piles of crap, with no scientific credibility. But fear --> clicks --> money.
I'm not writing to "hate"; I'm writing to inform about bias & how it works in our social systems & "scientific community (where standard monetary market forces apply, go figure ^^)".
Much Love peeps ❤
Please, explain how is it profitable and who is it profitable for to try to prove climate change is real? Don't give me that "scientists" That doesn't meaning anything. Tell me an organization or organizations that is making money out of proving that climate change is real.
@janbenes3165 every alternative energy company? I'm pretty sure if there's a debate, there's someone profiting from it.
"no scientific credibility"
I mean, you can always check what journal a paper was published in, double check its impact factor and whatnot, to see how credible the new info is.
Also, the research about Bangladesh by Khan et al (2011) was published in a journal partially funded by a branch of the US's National Institutes of Health. That seems pretty good to me. Plus, the biology and chemistry associating increased salt intake with higher blood pressure is pretty well established and, last I checked, sea water is rather salty.
By the way, wouldn't it be nice to know all of the negative factors impacting women's health, even if the effect is smaller? It's true that Bangladesh's women have one of the lowest mean age at bearing 1st child, and we know that having a baby too early, especially before 18, is dangerous. It's also true that hypertension during pregnancy is also dangerous. Surely it'd be a good idea to encourage social reforms so women in Bangladesh have more bodily autonomy AND work to mitigate sea water seepage due to anthropogenic climate change at the same time, yes? And what do people outside of Bangladesh have more control over, the society and culture of Bangladesh or their own carbon output?
@@youtubeisrunbyamonkey Here's the thing: that's an issue with capitalism, not with scientists pointing out that anthropogenic climate change is real. If you don't like businesses making profits off of things we need, vote for more progressive politicans.
@Blaergh I would say you have wealthy special interest groups in non capitalist economies as well.
This is absolutely absurd . In the last 100 years , the average temp has risen about 1 degree .
You're right, a 1 degree difference isn't scary until you understand all the knock-on effects such as what this video is about or that the reason for the change is only accelerating.
@@decardo9571 1 degree in 100 years . Eart has been going through different cycles throughout time . Look at the bigger picture and you may see it for yourself . Quit following the narrative .
@@frankneal4237 You clearly have no concept of the issue. Quit following the far right-wing narrative that is not based in science.
@frankneal4237 Unfortunately I am well educated on this subject. And though it's true that the earth goes through different cycles, it's also true that the planet has never been this hot. This is especially concerning, considering we are at a point in the cycle where the overall planet temperate should be going down.
When I say it's never been this hot before, I mean in some 50 million years.
You can argue all you want, but the science says we're one of the main causes of the temperature change. This doesn't make human's evil, but it certainly doesn't help that a lot of us would prefer to blame others or stick our heads in the sand rather than face reality.

Not all women can bear children and not all people who can bear children are women. The term is more accurate, no one is saying that it's not mostly women who can be pregnant or denying that that's an aspect of life typically associated with womanhood

Why was it warmer in the 1880-1890s then today? Cause climate changes naturally….. come on electric vehicles cause more harm the the environment with the mining for the materials needed for them.
It wasn't warmer in 1880-1890s. I don't know where you are getting that info but I haven't seen a single piece of information that would suggest that. On the contrary, the last 20 years or so are in top 20 highest temperatures since we have started measuring it.

You must be a flat earther. Go bother someone else.
Show your peer-reviewed research that effectively counters what 95% of climate scientists are saying.
What type of idiot are you exactly?
While what you are saying occurs naturally (ie. Meteors hitting the earth causing an ice age)
This current in your words "cycle" is not something that is happening naturally. It's because of pollution in many forms caused by us as a species.
@@badwolf3618and the authoritarian cultist appears.
@@chedubetcha69 so I am authoritarian because I asked them to provide valid evidence of their claim? Because their claim goes against what nearly climate scientist is saying.
Though I think I know what you're getting at. It's a common conspiracy theory amongst climate change deniers that the concept of climate change was made up by people who wanted an excuse to control people and strip their rights away, so perhaps that's what motivated you to accuse me of being an authoritarian?
Assuming that I am correct, fuck that shit. Climate scientists have no fucking agenda to implement some authoritarian regime. And there is no goddamn way that 95% of scientists agree on this only because they were bribed or coerced or they are in on the conspiracy somehow. That's not how human behavior works. Conspiracies require A LOT of people to keep quiet about the secret agenda and to flawlessly perform their role in maintaining the conspiracy. You just can't have successful conspiracies of this magnitude with that many people involved. It would fall apart very quickly.
Besides, the data on climate change is sound, and we are already seeing the affects. And yes, climate scientists have already considered the possibility that our current climate trends are just part of naturally occurring planetary weather cycles. But the data shows that our current climate patterns are *not* the result of naturally occurring weather cycles. And the data also shows that the current trends are a direct result of excessive emissions of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere from human activity.
Since we're gonna play the game of accusing others of having bad faith reasons for their positions on climate change, I wanna play too! I will assume that, since most climate change deniers are Conservatives, you are a Conservative. Correcting climate change would require two things:
1. Corporations being told that they don't get to do certain things anymore because it's damaging to the environment. And God fucking forbid a Conservative ever tell rich people that they aren't allowed to do something. In their minds, making money is the most important thing, so they don't give a shit if someone's efforts to make money bring harm to other people.
2. Individuals would have to make certain sacrifices and lifestyle changes. And since Conservatives don't have a genuine concern or care for how their choices affect other people, they will refuse to believe that climate change is real so that they don't have to sacrifice anything.
can it make them shut the hell up?
Oh no, you are not going to make me believe this BS.
Wellll, that's the thing with reality, it is reality even if you don't believe it.
Say "I don't believe in gravity!" and drop a pen. It'll still hit the floor.
Phil's reporting on verifiable studies, some of which you could double-check yourself, just like how you can double-check the existence of gravity.
You being too lazy or too stubborn to do that is your own problem, not this channel's.
@@Blaergh well, the studies are flawed. The hottest countries in the world in Africa and the middle east have the highest birth rates. The more temperate countries in Europe and Asia have low birth rates.
It's a purposely incomplete study because they wanted a certain conclusion. It also completely ignores that in the west very few women have hormone imbalances that require medication, yet many women are on hormonal birth control that can affect fertility with long term use.
@@earthstar7534 Phil listed at least 3 problems: sea water seepage, stronger and more frequent hurricanes, and increasing ranges of malaria. Sea water seepage increases drinking water salinity and higher intakes of salt increase blood pressure, which is very bad if you're pregnant. Stronger and more frequent hurricanes screw up coastal people's access to IVF services. Lastly, increased malaria range means more people exposed to malaria, and malaria is worse if you're pregnant.
Without even double checking Phil's (many) sources, tell me, exactly, how what the video outlined makes no sense. Tell me how this model is flawed. Now, go look at the video's citations. Which sources are flawed and how?
Now, tell me that you actually understand what's being talked about even when you reference birthrates in Africa and the Middle East, when their higher birthrates are mostly explained by lower GDP per capita and less laws guaranteeing a woman's bodily autonomy? How is this countering the evidence pointing to how sea water seepage, stronger and more frequent hurricanes, and increased malaria ranges hurt women's reproductive health?
And tell me that you actually watched the whole video and tried to understand it when you don't seem to see how Phil referenced studies talking about problems in Ghana, a country in Africa. Tell me that you actually put some thought into this and realized that Africa is one of the most affected places by malaria, as well.
Vomiting the phrase "the studies are flawed" is being lazy, at best. Please do better.
@Blaergh so the problem isn't fertility, it's western women's access to termination services and birth control because they don't want children. Again, not environmental. Nothing you listed that only affects costal areas affects fertility.
Salt water seepage doesn't cause pre eclampsia. People don't drink salt water, they literally can't.
Not if they wanted to discuss plastic endocrine disruption from plastic pollution and excessive use of hormone therapy in women without hormone imbalances for birth control affecting fertility, now that would actually make sense.
Also, countries with extremely high malaria rates STILL have higher birth rates.
@@earthstar7534 And as we far right wingers know, birth rates are the same as birth issues. Exactly the same. Why it's so simple even a US conservative MAGA hatter could understand.
