One of the most universally beloved episodes of any cartoon ever made, almost unanimously considered among the top 3 episodes of the entire show and even after 20 years that final flashback still hits just as hard as the day it aired.
I always cry as soon as it cuts to Yancy and the baby. I thought as this is just a quick run through it wouldn’t get to me, but ffs I cried again. Such a good moment in television.
One of the best endings in any animated show ever. Even knowing what was going to happen I still teared up a little. No matter how much I've seen this show, this episode always gets me.
This episode still has one of my favorite jokes in the whole show. Announcer: "The winner is number 3, in a quantum finish!" Professor: "No fair! You changed the outcome by measuring it!" (tl;dr: you can't measure something at the quantum level without altering it with your method of measurement, see: Schrodinger's cat, etc. etc.) god I'm a dork.
0:50 You certainly knew Fry had a _sibling,_ seeing as one of the show's main characters was introduced as his distant nephew! 5:12 Jeez, to think that when this aired I had never heard of Rudy Giuliani… 7:08 …This seems to imply that mutants can live for at least a thousand years 😳
One of the many episodes that hints that Fry's life wasn't all that bad back in the past. PS: Every time I watch one of your vids I get Roundabout stuck in my head from the ending.
It's crazy how there are certain things that in hindsight, we kind of take for granted. Yet in reality, they didn't happen until a much later season than that hindsight would assume. I still sometimes forget that it took all the way until the fourth season to finally get Leela's origin story.
One of the reasons Futurama was so good. There was the occasional episode that really pulled at your heartstrings, and had a legit beautiful story. Can't wait till you get to the one with Fry's mom.
Can’t believe you skipped over one of the best Futurama jokes ever: “And the winner is. number three, in a quantum finish!” “No fair! You changed the outcome by measuring it!”
Ah yes, the Luck of the Fryrish, the first of the bittersweet episodes. In my highly spoilery and objectively correct opinion, it's better than the Seymour one.
If you are intrigued by basketball you should put in some youtube search time - there's lots of good content. I just watched a condensed version of the 2004 NBA Finals where the Detroit Pistons played the LA Lakers on youtube and it really took me back
One of the only thing I don't like about the show as the series has gone on is Fry's parents have basically been ret-conned in to being good loving parents. That's crap.
This episode doesn't really do it for me. Yancy might have been a better brother as he grew up but as a teenager he was a solid dipshit to Fry. I wouldn't really care about him naming his son after me. All the memories I have of him are awful.
Something that really adds to the reveal, is that Yancy chose to break a generational tradition by naming him after Fry.
That never crossed my mind.
Yeah. Unfortunately I think the boys missed the line at 0:52 and so didn't pick up on that part.
That was the first of a handful of Futurama episodes that make me fight back the tears.
It’s so heartwarming to see SOMEONE in Fry’s past actually cared about him.
His entire family cares about him, Fry just yet to realize that.
@@franciscopedraza7534 Yeah, it just unfortunately took him being frozen for a thousand years for him to realize it
@@MittensZora Man this sure knows how to turn the waterworks. Plus Tom Kenny was perfect in this episode
@@franciscopedraza7534 Probably didn't help that his girlfriend from the past completely gaslighted him.
@@MittensZora I like that both his parents got moments to express how they feel in later episodes.

Same man
In case you didn't notice: Don't you (forget about me) is THE hit song from the Breakfast Club soundtrack. The perfect song to end this episode.
Still hits the feels no matter how many rewatches

“You’re twice the ‘The’ he ever was.” 😢
This episode still has one of my favorite jokes in the whole show.

One of the best episodes of futurama, there's the insanely nerdy joke about the quantum finish, then at the end, it kicks your feels in the crotch.
0:50 You certainly knew Fry had a _sibling,_ seeing as one of the show's main characters was introduced as his distant nephew!

Man, back when I was 12 this and Seymour episode hit me so hard. Not sure if it is nostalgia but both of them still hit the same.
same i still get teared up watching both those episodes. but i think the one that hits hardest for me is the bee one.
I NEVER rewatch Jurasic Bark. Its just too emotial
@@env0xoh yeah, the funny show that can rip your heart out
Yes, the PJs was a short-lived stop-motion animated series for adults.
Yup the PJ aka also know as "the projects"
Futurama has a couple of episodes like this that just give you an emotional gut punch
Yancy is also the middle name of the character Doug from the show Doug, who is voiced by the same guy as Fry.
The writing for this episode is excellent.. I mean, it is for nearly all Futurama episodes! Love the content, boys
THE best episode in the series (imo)
One of the many episodes that hints that Fry's life wasn't all that bad back in the past.
PS: Every time I watch one of your vids I get Roundabout stuck in my head from the ending.
That ending honestly made me cry the first time I watched it.
I’ve watched this series so many times I forgot that this is the first time we ever meet Fry’s family!
It's crazy how there are certain things that in hindsight, we kind of take for granted. Yet in reality, they didn't happen until a much later season than that hindsight would assume. I still sometimes forget that it took all the way until the fourth season to finally get Leela's origin story.
Fun Fact- Fry's brother Yancy is voiced by Tom Kenny, the voice of Spongebob.
And he’s quite a Nice King, er I mean an Ice King, too.
@@0okamino Love that reference.
0:52 I mean the professor is his Great X a lot nephew.
Luck of the Fryrish is more of a tearjerker than Jurassic Bark. Change my mind.

The ending gets me every time.
Oh you’ll see more episodes that will have an emotional ending/twist.
Great reaction! This was a really good one!
This is one of my favourite episodes of Futurama!
The beat boxing 'break dancer' was none other than John 'Bender' DiMaggio...
Easily among my favorite episodes of the series.
My favourite episode of the show
Damn it, this one still makes me cry at the end.
Futurama is an isekai
*sips tea*
...oh crap.
Yeah, kinda.
Best episode in my opinion! And at least one of them reacted to it 😂❤️
This is my favorite episode of the series.
Can’t believe you skipped over one of the best Futurama jokes ever:

The PJ's was awesome you guys should totally react to it!
Lovely episode
surprisingly touching
fyi I don't think internet browsers actually listened like that back when the episode was made, so they got that right
Saddest/most touching episode of the entire series. Nothing else comes close, and especially nothing after season 4.
Yeah cause this show never rips your heart out again in the next 2 seasons. Not at all...
These bastard writers forget from time to time they're just supposed to make us laugh 😢
This is the saddest episode for me. As someone with an older brother at least.
Ah yes, the Luck of the Fryrish, the first of the bittersweet episodes. In my highly spoilery and objectively correct opinion, it's better than the Seymour one.
