My dad just died from this. He went to the doctor a few month ago complaining about the swelling of his legs and how much it hurt, the doctor never check him for blood clots.

Some doctors are idiots. Same thing happened to me I knew I had a blood clot in my leg and I feared that it went to my lungs so I went to the doctor and because I was the one that diagnosed it, he wanted to say I was wrong.
so I said never mind I’m not asking for your opinion just write me a referral so I can go get an ultrasound.
So I got an ultrasound and I was right - I had a DMT, they sent me to the ER and I had multiple bilateral pulmonary emboli and could’ve easily died.
So then I called my health insurance company and told them about my experience with this doctor and they took the doctor off of their list of providers. And I got another doctor after that.
I don’t know why some doctors are such idiots. They’re so Egotesticle to the point of preferring you to die rather than admit they could be wrong.
I don’t go to doctors anymore.
I just maintain my own health w/ plenty of vitamin K, kale, green veggies, exercise, & baby aspirin. I don’t want to take blood thinners long-term because they thin your skin out.

What size clots or embolus are usually fatal?

My friend has a PE but the doctors said it was caused by blood thinners and she has had a stroke and knee replacement. Is there other therapies to aid her in this situation? I really don’t trust this small hospital with her medical situation

Developed one from a superficial clot that moved to my deep vein system due to a vascular mutation/malformation I have that causes and creates blood clots but also causes parts of my deep vein system to be missing. Had pain in my knee and then chest while driving and went to the hospital to be sure and wasn't even thinking it would be a PE. I think ground glass pneumonia was more painful and have even had my lung collapse 😅 Blood clots are the worst! Incredibly painful and terrifying.

In relation to the cause, it was from traveling about 4 hours away and doing a lot of walking over two days and then driving back! I'm thankful that the very few other times I have traveled long distances I haven't had too many issues. It does take a lot out of me though and some days are better/worse than others. Certainly feel lucky to be alive regardless and enjoy what time I do have in dealing with these things constantly.

@@MuddasLove23 usually the really sudden deaths come from a larger cloth breaking free and blocking a large part of the pulmonary arteries.
Smaller (micro) embolisms are less dangerous, which is probably what your mother has if it can be diagnosed. It can still be very serious, depending on how much is blocked.
      How is she doing?

I love the content and material but the sloppy handwriting really devalues and takes away from the content.
