I'm late to the party but another great video and finally....opening day!! A lot of awesome ideas and strategies and I always look forward to your videos.
I would like to see an in depth explanation of the grab and die set. I have mostly grey fox where I am at but I am planning on a trapping trip someday. Thanks
Glad you're getting the sets out, Paul. Nice to see the wolf sign you have around there. I went to set up the North line yesterday. I didn't see a single wolf track anywhere. Best wishes Brother!
I'm sure the new intro is a little old, but I like it. The old one was sweet, though, especially since it was a wolf actually caught howling on video. Anyways I'm super behind on the channel. I'm glad you're still at it. #StayFree
Brother I want to share this with you. Tell me your thoughts. I find that the larger the dog that often times the farther from a scent post they will kick back. Coyotes here in WV I've seen up to 4-6 feet from a pee post they will kick back leaving that "D" pad scent (if you will). So... 2 different scents 4-6 feet apart. I'm no wolf trapper and only have a few sets out these days but I always try to learn even after 40+ years of doing it. I'm a dog watcher like yourself. Your thoughts?
Have you thought of using Dan Davis’s castor lure at one of your sets. It worked for coyotes. Hopefully your leg gets better soon. It definitely makes it harder to put in sets.
This stuff works great for Charlie Horses, Made by Naure's Blend Super Absorption Magnesium Fizz-Plus, works right away. From one trapper to another. Good luck Happy New Year. Enjoy your videos Thank you
@montanawolftrapper8666 visited libby two years ago on way home from alaska. Old friend economic developer there. She showed us around. Took us up to reservoir. We had a nice lunch. Then visited the suspension bridge. I had heard you mention being near libby and thought I remembered tracks north of town. Figured you would be farther out/away from town. We stayed in the firemans campground while there. Surprised there were homeless there.
@@montanawolftrapper8666 sure is man. Maybe I'll be out there again someday and we might meet. Thinking about another trip to Alaska. Sitting here now at 39°N. Solidly underneath the hardwood tree cover.

The bait on it creates a bite and pull reaction. They won’t want to let it go. Longer they stay the more they step.
It looks great. The more they move their feet the better it is for the trapper. What are you using to put the bait on?
I like that you used an earth anchor for it.
@ you can use anything. bone, dowel this is a raw hide
@ thank you for sharing! Appreciate it
Can't wait to see a wolf soon! Good luck Paul!🤞
Use straw and ice melt way to much work the way with the waxed sand
