  • Funny interview with Ron & Russell browsing the very first Sparks website called FAN MAEL etc (unofficial) during promotion for the single "More Than A Sex Machine.

The first female interviewer ( she was again on the couch ) was very cute and fun. Sadly, Miriam Pielhau died in 2016 after a 7 year battle with breast cancer 😞

These really are the most bizarre questions to be asking Ron and Russell!

As far as I know Sparks never shot a video for More Than A Sex Machine.

@@violetluna3462 Yes, a real shame Indeed! Not sure what I would have expected from a "More Than A Sex Machine" video? I guess it would have been directed by Kuntzel & Deygas again who directed the previous two Sparks videos and the next video for the "The Calm Before The Storm". I guess we will just never know?

It SHOULD have been, that song is so catchy, it had a great chance to become a hit!
I love the whole album, it's generally underrated. I know there were things going on about contract and such, and 'Balls' was the last album before Li'l Beethoven, their own label, so there were some tensions, what I have understood. Nevertheless the album is awesome 💖🥰💖🥰💖

@@annabackman3028 Yes, "More Than A Sex Machine" should have been a hit single I quite agree with you. Unfortunately it was never released as a single here in the UK only in Germany. One minute they were signed to WEA in Germany and the next Strangeways Records and Recognition Records here in the UK. Yes, they were certainly having a few issues with record labels around that time for sure. I love the Balls album too and I was fortunate to attend both Balls concerts at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in London back in 2000. Glad you enjoyed the interview. :-)
