Regardless, this announcement definitely sucks as something to hype up and is pretty flawed for them to do since they know clearly by the trending each time these things happen that it's intentional bait.

To be honest I get disappointed so much of this that I just don't care anymore
For such, I wanted a remake for my most recent favorite story to be adapted properly. I believe it will suffer the same way, like berserk. Simply because of censorship on anime and since both series contain a HUGE AMOUNT of gory stuff and psychological horror or something similar, and who knows maybe studio pierrot did in fact want to full adapted Tokyo Ghoul properly but couldn't because of censorship or because some higher up didn't allow and I fully believe senien series will never ever get a proper anime adaptation because of this bs...😢
I’ll never forget when I first watched it. It was amazing, one of the best anime imo. Then it got rushed and put in shamble sadly. Bad representation really ruined it. But TG will always have a special place in my heart. Hopefully one day, someone revive the series and give it the remake and justice it deserves. Bleach took forever to get pick up, hopefully one day someone step in and do the same for our TG beloved fans.

Oh and btw, you should try KAIJU NO 8, definitely gave me TG vibe. Wish TG has that good of adaptation and continuation.
