I love listening to you when you are speaking because there's wisdom and godliness in the way you put things. May God give you more Grace.
Study the word rest. It means to guard or keep safe. Our lives are caught up in the six days we work to make a living here. Work that is good for us. The seventh day sabbath reminds us of our Creator. It also reminds us to worship Him and to desire transformation back into His image. O how I love Jesus 🎶
Amen! Glory to God and we thank Him for giving Pr. Randy Skeete the clarity of His word.
In civil law the "intent" often decides the outcome. In God's eyes we intend to keep the Seventh day (Saturday) holy and that has been my practice for over 7 decades; I am not changing regardless of the calender debates.
Thus says the Lord shall always be your foundation

Sabath is rest day, to rest is to finish, accomplish. I rest on the sabath day, but worship everyday of the week. I don't judge those who fix a day convenient to them, God's intention was to make man not forget him, observing a day does not bring salvation, trusting and accepting Jesus Christ does. I thank God through Jesus Christ am a child of God, If you are also save praise the Lord we will meet there at his feet with rejoicing that we were counted worthy to be God's children, shalom.
Defending standards and preaching the truth is not Judging. If I love stealing and the preacher preaches from the Commandments Do not steal .He's not Judging you , he's simply saying the truth . Chrst Himself spoke of this "I came not to judge the world but the words which I speak shall judge you" and as we know, the words which Christ spoke were God's words which are truth.
Please pastor haven't you wondered yet HOW could a God that "never slumber nor sleep" REST on a certain day?...What was that very DAY? Why Jesus nor His disciples or Apostles NEVER emphasis on Saturday?

Sounded good until the moment the preacher said, "God rested THEN He blessed the Sabbath Day. " The Hebrew Text says AND (Ve'Shabat) the Rest/Shabbat AND Blessing took place simultaneously. We MUST not try and explain away what is written. Why would the Prophets prophecy the sanctity regarding His Sabbath Day. Much more regarding this.

Let's hope this explanation is by revelation, because already am not convinced if the rest is from the spiritual or physical perspective, God doesn't get tired the Bible say he never sleeps no slumbers.

There is only 1 Sabbath in existence which is on the seventh day. Thanks brother for putting this in the simplest form. Please elaborate since others are confused about the Sabbath in the Mosaic laws which are no longer valid since Jesus became the sacrificial lamb to save humanity.

If it was nailed to the cross with Christ, why do police people who steal and commited adultery, this is part of the ten commandment so why removing the Sabbath, Jesus observe the Sabbath, recorded on Luke 4:16 , Dont think I have come to abolish the law but to fullfil it, not even any part of the Law will disapear untill heaven and earth will pass away..God declare 7th day in Genesis 2:2,3, John 20: 1 the first day of the week which Jesus arose. Jews are hard core about keeping the law. If anyone had altered the calendar since the time of Jesus to disrupt the 7 day pattern we would know by rabbinical writings.

Yes there are a few random exceptions like a Pacific island or two, but in most of the world Jews have been carefully keeping the Sabbath for thousands of years. If anyone doesn't believe that, the burden of proof rests on them to prove them wrong. Jewish sects will debate fine points of the law ad nauseam. If the weekly cycle changed we would have heard about it.
@@derekriethmeier4366 When you retrace the date of Christ death Nissan 14 ad31, it does not align with Friday. This shows that we are not on the same cycle. When was the first time that we were introduced to the Babylonian names for the days of the week? If we can honestly use the crucifixion of Christ to show the 7th day Sabbath it would be on a solid foundation. The actual time of Easter is imperfect and will not give an accurate result. Therefore we can no longer use Easter to prove that Saturday is the Sabbath.

Unfortunately i see you have cherry picked verses and sections of verses and combinations of sections to support your false narrative. Inaddition, you have ignored the pretext and context of these verses. In every instances where the sabbath was commanded in the old and new testament the audience/recipients were the israelites. The simple reason is that the israelites were the only people group given the sabbath (psalms 147: 19-20, romans 9:4). This fact is further reiterated in Nehemiah 9:14, and Ezekiel 20: 10-12. It is true that an association is made between creation and the sabbath observation but so is the exodus. So which one is it? The sabbath command first appears in exodus and not in genesis. In genesis we are told what God did not what he commanded men. In the new testament era the "Lords day" was not the sabbath but rather sunday because it was on sunday Jesus rose from the dead. I am not saying that sunday is the sabbath, it is acknowledged that saturday is the jewish sabbath. So here John is saying that he received the vision on the first day of the week: sunday. When Jesus says he is" lord of the sabbath" its important to put the verse and chapter into the right context. The context is that the pharisees had turned the sabbath into an idol by adding restrictions and stipulations to it that Moses never commanded. So Jesus was rebuking them for this. Jesus was saying that as a jew you are commanded to observe the sabbath but not be a slave to it to the extent that you end up breaking other commands. Again the audience in this case is important to note when he uses the word "man". Jesus also said " so shall a MAN leave his mother and father and cleave to a wife". You are right about Sunday being the Lord's day... and SDA live as though Sundays have no significance. From my understanding, there should be no preaching or man teaching his interpretation of the scriotures on God's Holy Sabbath. That they should only be read. Man is sinful and prone to error. Increases chance to teach in error which is in complete contradiction of the word Holy. This is why they described Jesus's teaching as one who had authority. It's because He actually came with true knowledge and explanation as if he were speaking from personal experience. No one else did that in the temples. The towns were limited with Holy scriptures so people came simply to read or hear them read.

The sabbath was first given to the Jews (Exodus 16:23)and the Jews only (Nehemiah 9:14; psalms 147: 19-20; Ezekiel 20:12; Romans 9:4) by the hand of moses (Nehemiah 9:14). Was moses alive at the beginning of creation? The sabbath observation was to put the Israelites in remembrance of the rest God gave them from their slave labour in Egypt (Deuteronomy 5:15). Now the people of God both Jew and gentile are no longer under the ordinances of the mosaic law or commanded to follow it, but under the law of Christ (Genesis 49:10; Jeremiah 31: 31-33; Romans 10:4; Hebrews 7:11-12). If someone chooses to celebrate the sabbath thats fine and if someone chooses to not celebrate the sabbath that is fine to (Romans 14: 5-6; Colossians 2:16). The ordinances of the mosaic law was a shadow of things to come not the things themself. And he has come: Jesus Christ. " Being justified by faith we have peace with God". Grace mercy and peace.

The time of the Passover is another good reference point to prove that Saturday is the Sabbath. Christ was crucified on the 14th day of Nissan and the sabbath came after. Easter is a little inaccurate to be used as a reference point since it comes every first Sunday after the Passover date when Christ was crucified- the first Sunday after the Passover full moon. An inaccurate reference point will give the wrong result for the Sabbath day. The Catholic church understand the biblical timing but they made the change of times. The calculation of Easter shows that they understand biblical timing better than sda.
Pastor Skeete if you make a statement you need to give the Bible verse as proof. For instance you said God said the Sabbath is "His Day."But you did not give the bible verse to back up your claim!!!

I worship every day not just on Sunday. If you are only 'worshipping' on Saturday is it true worship?
I worship everyday as well but what many people fail to realize is that everyday is not the sabbath day, Saturday was set aside to devote wholly to God he gave us 6 working days to do what we want but on the 7th day which is the sabbath it is to be devoted to him. So it’s not only on a Saturday we are suppose to worship but that Saturday is unlike any other day it was blessed and sanctified hallowed and set apart for us.
It is no evil to worship God in any day. But the sabbath, He commands ,must be dedicated to Him and only Him if you work on sabbath you transgress aagainst the Law of God . And remember that in a Christian life we are to put away all our opinions and follow what God said . It's never a matter of debate it's a matter of the truth which was thousands of years ago and remains as it is now despite of man's changing nature, the truth still stands accept it or not is your personal choice; The seventh day is the sabbath It was blessed, sanctified and set aside by God to be His Holy day in it we shall do no work but consecrate ourselves to God and His devine service. Gen 1v14 is the best point of reference that you can use to prove that Saturday is the Sabbath.
Genesis 1:14 doesn't say Saturday, it just says Shabbat. The Hebrew is much deeper and the translators chose not to translate what's there. The 6 days came forth fron the Sabbath Day. The Sabbath is also know as the Queen to the King. But, back to rhe Saturday. These Gregorian days are not parallel to the Priestly Hebraic Calendar of Genesis 1:1. Whan Messiah returns, he will balance all things even in the Heavenlies.

@@umabrijmohun6720 Legalism works hand in hand with the law. And based on the old testament, it was what guided Israelites on their way till the coming of christ (Galatians 3:24). After Jesus came he became the Lord of the Sabbath (Matthew 12:8) And our righteousness is nolonger of the law but of grace and faith. If you have time read these scriptures (Matthew 5:20-48 and Luke 18:18-23) I pray the revelation of the Holyspirit as you do so. So what Paul speaks in Colossians 2:16-17 is based upon after Christ had come on earth and ressurected and back in heaven.

If you cross reference Col 2:16 with Lev 23:1--3 ,Moses to whom the Law was given,says the 7th day Sabbath is a feast day

Hmmm... a command that is so important but yet none of the new testament writers mentioned it.
Jubilees 2:30-32, and pay ATTENTION to verse 31. The Israelites are the ONLY people sanctified to keep the Sabbath day HOLY. The rest of the people are NOT sanctified to do that. That doctrine came at the time of christianity and mostly enforced during the Black Hebrew Inquisition, trying to force the Hebrew Israelites to abandon the Torah. Those with non human genes in their DNA can keep it or disregard it together with the heathens it makes no difference, but as for the Israelites, that's an abomination from what ever angle you view it. The non Israelite humans that get grafted into Israel are under obligation to keep the Sabbath day HOLY, and there are no two ways about it. We worship Him in His terms and conditions only and we don't tell Him how we will worship Him. Any deviation from that is from Satan the devil. We can try to philosophise this and use the theological knowledge about it, but it will NOT change anything. The serpent seed can continue to worship their forefathers like the serpent and the Fallen Angels as their gods, being joined in that by the ungrafted heathens, that doesn't mean a thing to us. I only feel sorry for the Israelite brothers and sisters who are being misled into Satan worshipping thinking that they are worshipping Yahuah The Most High Elohim of Israel their forefathers. This however doesn't nullify the truth . God is the judge and not man He's the author of the Bible and cannot contradict Himself. His truth judges and not the preachers of His word . You are making the 2 Corinthians 3:14 error not acknowledging that the Jeremiah 31: 31-33 prophecy has been fulfilled and making an idol of a day as Jesus pointed out (Mark 2:27-28). The sabbath is for all mankindas mentioned in the bible it's not for certain group of people, when one decides to become a belier you have to embrace the truth as a whole not partly. Jesus teaches in the synagogue on the sabbath day . He observe the sabbath and keep it holy. This is deceiving people .
Jesus healed on the Sabbath and his disciple broke wheatears and ate in the Sabbath , one reason he was killed was he works on the Sabbath he did not obey the law of Moses. Even when he had told them that He was greater than Moses. That made the Jews mad against him. The Jews had to go to the temple to worship and to the synagogue to be taught and to learn the Tora. The Christian need not go to the temple in Jerusalem because God does not live there, it was destroyed , one reason they worshiped ( idolised) the temple rather than worship God. But through Christ Jesus our bodies are made into temples to worship God anywhere anytime since we live and move in our bodies.

Thou shalt keep all my sabbaths. This means sabbath comes on the 7th day, and new moon day, and on the first and last days of the feasts of the lord, as the feast of unleavened bread, first day and last day is a sabbath unto you. That day can follow or come before the seventh, and can fall also on the seventh. So 2 sabaths back to back. Keep all his sabbaths brethren.

Beloved of God why are you misleading the flock. God does not need to rest. Therefore rest in this context refers to the end of the creation work. For six days God added the act of creation to his program. On the seventh he returned to his regular program of being God. The event that signifies the sabbath command is not creation but rather the exodus of the israelites from egypt because God gave them rest from their labor as slaves in egypt (Deuteronomy 5:15). When they observed the sabbath they remembered that they serve a God that can deliver them from their enemies.
l beg to differ on this point. If we look at both Exodus 20:8-11 and Deuteronomy 5:12-15, it is the same God who gave both commandments, which are not 2 different commandments, but one. They only bring out different points of emphasis that the Lord wanted us to understand. Secondarily, the creation came before sin and the need for God to deliver His people, the Israelites out of Egyptian bondage came afterwards. Basically, showing that God is our Creator as well as, our Savior.
Additionally, If we carefully compare both Scriptures as mentioned earlier, the reason God reminds us to keep the Sabbath Holy, is because it is first of all His day. He says, “ “If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord,...” ( Isaiah 58:13). “For the Son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath day” (Matthew 12:8). Further, John said, “I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet” (Revelation 1:10).n
Next, He is the Lord of it (Mark 2:27 ). Finally, the Lord says, “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.”(Exodus 20:8). Why or because, “For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea and all that in them is,...” (Exodus20:11). He says, “Six days shalt thou do all thy work:” (Deuteronomy 5:13). “...therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to keep the Sabbath day.” (Deuteronomy 5:15). Inaddition, you have ignored the pretext and context of these verses. In every instances where the sabbath was commanded in the old and new testament the audience/recipients were the israelites. The simple reason is that the israelites were the only people group given the sabbath (psalms 147: 19-20, romans 9:4). This fact is further reiterated in Nehemiah 9:14, and Ezekiel 20: 10-12. It is true that an association is made between creation and the sabbath observation but so is the exodus. So which one is it? The sabbath command first appears in exodus and not in genesis. In genesis we are told what God did not what he commanded men. In the new testament era the "Lords day" was not the sabbath but rather sunday because it was on sunday Jesus rose from the dead. I am not saying that sunday is the sabbath, it is acknowledged that saturday is the jewish sabbath. So here John is saying that he received the vision on the first day of the week: sunday. When Jesus says he is" lord of the sabbath" its important to put the verse and chapter into the right context. The context is that the pharisees had turned the sabbath into an idol by adding restrictions and stipulations to it that Moses never commanded. So Jesus was rebuking them for this. Jesus was saying that as a jew you are commanded to observe the sabbath but not be a slave to it to the extent that you end up breaking other commands. Again the audience in this case is important to note when he uses the word "man". Jesus also said " so shall a MAN leave his mother and father and cleave to a wife".
