I wish the NBA divisions meant something. Teams play every team in the league at least two times, and their divisional games, while they play those teams maybe one or two more times than other same conference teams, they don't have a strong sense of rivalry built up. On one hand it makes the league more even, but on the other it takes away from those tight divisional rival games like you see in football. I think it would be cool if they maybe played less games overall, and had more games against divisional opponents instead of playing out of conference games. I get they want every fan in every city a chance to see every team, but when you can only see the lakers once every few years in Detroit cos it's out of conference I think it makes it more special.
Football is king. Once the season ends, NBA viewership will go up.
