    Once you start watching Karl pilkinton you just can’t stop 😆 I’ve seen some Americans reacting to an idiot abroad but sometimes they struggle to understand his accent and like you say they miss the British references, but they still seem to find him funny 😆 Oh also real Mexican jumping beans are seed pods that get like a little worm type thing inside and then the seeds pod rolls about and can jump a bit. People collect them up and sell them because people find them fun and interesting, you’ll have to look it up there will be some videos of them. I have no idea what happens to the creature inside

So when you moved it the ball bearing inside moves position and makes the capsule move around on its own. Quite basic but entertaining for a child. Cheers a d keep up the good work ken.

    “Mexican Jumping Beans” were probably most popular here in the USA…It was a Catalog Order Item similar to “Sea-Monkeys”…..It was a Bean that would bounce around (because some kind of larvae or something lived in the bean)…..
    You could order “mexican jumping beans” through catalogs or at pharmacy check outs …i dont theyre sold anymore and it was probably more of a USA product.

    Here in the US, I would say there's a lot of people who think Easter is about chocolate eggs and candy. My family is very traditional and more religious about it, but I would say the majority aren't like that. We don't do crucifixion reenactments or fireworks or anything crazy though. We just fast during Lent and go to Church and have lots of meat and cheese after. But we do know about Jesus and what the holiday is really about - and that's the focus.

    Dear Mr. Eddy,
    there is actually a bunch reason for the 'easteregg' and not only in christian tradition.
    Historians say, that they found eggs painted in vivid colours way back in Mesopotamia,even so in e.g. antique egypt and Greek,as grave goods.
    I am not very firm actually with all the facts, but i am giving it a try.
    I think it at least here in Germany there a two,mainly religious, reasons why.
    There is a tradition here, and keep think in many other also, of the Lenten fest, what endures 6 weeks as a preparation for the easter fest( nowerdays it is not common practice, at least here in Germany). So during this time it was not allowed to eat eggs( why, i do not know, cause i was raised, on the side of my mother, very christian, but lost the interest on this kind of stuff as i get more and more into the STEM field.).

    • @stephanthomas4410
      @stephanthomas4410 Рік тому

      Pt. 2
      So they hardcooking the eggs, to preserve them,and to separate these eggs from fresh eggs, they have painted them.
      Anothere reason is in christian iconography, the egg is a symbol for the raise of jesus christ.
      Nowerdays it actually become more of a sales article in most of the european world, i guess. So i fully understand Karls confusion with it.
      With best regards
      P.s. great reaction.

    • @stephanthomas4410
      @stephanthomas4410 Рік тому

      Pt. 3
      By this sentence 'i don't know, i mean i don't get the full sense behind it. But each their own, i guess.
      Formy own opinion, i think it is little bit odd, to be honest.
      Btw. I never had never visited Birmingham neither Manchester( only London and a small town near the english channel), but i get also most of Karls little puns, anectdotes and funny slang type habits.
      I am very happy to found a guy, who actually seem to enjoy this also on YT.
      Keep on having a good laugh, Eddy.

    😂The egg is supposed to represent the 3rd day when Jesus rose again, he had been entombed in a cave with a boulder massive rock to close the tomb off, on the 3rd day there was a massive earthquake and supposedly an angel of the lord came and moved the rock.. So rolling chocolate eggs at Easter represents the rock being rolled from the cave. . Im 70 now and as a child I couldn't eat my chocolate egg until it was rolled down a hill and it broke open, supposedly good luck, UK preston lancs in the 50s Easter was a massive time, not only church wise but like a new beginning children got new under clothes, sandles for summer complete new outfits but got nothing else from one summer to the next. Got winter clothes especially as xmas presents with a toy or book, mums made it special though because money was tight after the war. Must admit I was a lucky child not posh working class parents, shared a 3 up 3 down with my gran, grandad, mum ,dad ,brother, now live in Australia .my grandfather after the 1st world war worked fir over 50years in a Chocolate factory as Electrician and Foreman BEECHES CHOCOLATES PRESTON LANCS, not sure if its there now, but the Eggs were thick chocolate beautifully adorned with icing flowers, grandad never ever ate chocolate but he smelled of it. Cocoa. Bit of knowledge.
