- Jesus was a master storyteller, and He shared stories that shed light on some important truths. In this study, we examine five different parables of Jesus about things that had been lost. We learn what our highest priority should be, what it really means to be a disciple, and what the Lord is all about-rescuing those who were once lost and redeeming them for His glory.
This teaching is from our series 42 Luke - 2014 with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque.
Thank you for a great teaching into the parables today. I would hope more people would be thankful for what they have instead of being ungrateful. If more people knew Jesus's teachings we would all live in a much better world.

Do you think we are to literally abandon everything? Is Jesus telling us that we must be able to forsake everything....or that we must forsake everything period??? I am a single mom who is struggling with Luke 14:33 big time. I have someone I respect telling me this is literal....but this just doesn't sit right with me. I already gave my life to Jesus and told Him whatever He needs from me, I am willing. I need to keep praying to understand what He really expects of me. I do trust the Lord....but I think it is illogical to give up a safe space to live. What if this is where the Lord wants me right now? What if I can forsake everything without going to live in a tent somewhere? I would love your thoughts. God bless you!

I would say..it meanings to give your life and entrust God with all that he has given you. NOTHING BELONGS TO US IN THIS WORLD!!!!
Example, God has given you your house and entrusting you to honor Him in that home, JUST BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU FOR PUTTING HIM FIRST IN ALL.. your house is a gift to you just bc YOU CHOSE HIM now!! IN ALL THINGS TRUST IN THE LORD!
I always ask myself….would I give this person up or someone up for the Lord…I humbly do….but I truly in my heart pray I always do.
