Man, you guys made it look easy! Me and a buddy just installed a new seal on a the same truck and we got it done.. But it Kicked our Ass!! I think the seal we used was a lot thicker & tougher !
There are three different types of front window rubber seal. One is without chrome strip. One with a small chrome strip channel. One with a larger chrome strip. Notice the back of your cab has a chrome strip across the back under the window. FYI
I just got done with the back two windows on my 78 fj40 they were a bitch getting the rubber gasket onto the window but not tha hard getting the glass back into the frame. They are small square windows. I paid a glass shop to do the windshield
I have a 74 ford f100, not sure if you could give a labor price range of a job like this if I were to do the front and back, I know each shop has different prices for their labor but wanted to see a ballpark range. Thank you
Trying to get the rubber on the glass is a bitch. I put two in by myself so far and am working on the third. Had to stop and watch how again after 3 hrs of no success.
That cat is a trouble maker.......but too damn cute. I'm about to put a solid window in the back of my truck......tired of the slider leaking air and water.
All literature I've seen calls for sealer in the window channel and on the frame seal channel. Also, are you not concerned about the tape left under the seal allowing water intrusion? Rot under the seal and floor rot from unseen window seal leaks a re notorious on the f series.
@@surveywaters the tape was removed from under the seals. As for the sealant. Idk as I hired someone else as seen in the video. He has over 30 years experience and I trust his work.
Those guys did a great job. Looked very serious about their work!! And their smiles at 14:37 when they were finished were great!!!
Great guys to work with.
I lol'ed at 4:50. The older guy jumpped!!! Thought the glass was fixing to fall 😂😂
We all jumped. The rack was not unfolded all the way. We all thought the glass broke. Then we all laughed nervously. Good times

These guys have about 30 years experience installing glass. They are awesome!
@@LittleBoyCustoms What was that spray you guys used silicone?
@@TallStarlite its just a rubber conditioner in order to help the rubber slide onto the glass or metal.
Thank you! Look for hours to find an actual install
welcome hope it helps
6:00 Bobo like, "hey guys, wtf are yall doing?!" 😂😂😂😂
Beau is into everything and trying to oversee everything going on in the shop. He thinks he is the shop boss.

Thanks for the input. I knew about two different rubber seals. Never knew there was a third.

@donnareed3822 thanks for watching. I alway prefer using a glass company to install windshields as I hate working with glass.
Good video, I wish it would show close up of how glass fits in the rubber and how the rope fits in the rubber.
Thanks for the input. I'll try making a video of it on the next truck needing glass soon.
Hi Would you have the rubber part number? Someone installed in my 1963 Ford F100 Flareside but the rubber seal does not fit and seal properly.
You should check out Dennis Carpenter or LMC Truck Website and they will have what you are looking for. {They are not sponsors of the channel}
Nice I need to do this. Where’s a good place to buy the seals? And the front glass? Any guidance on price ? Thank you I have a 68 F1 too
Purchased seal at local hotrod shop. $40 Purchased front glass off web around $250.

$350 further front and that is with a new windshield $275 for the back with new glass
Can you let me know why you didn’t use the glue/glazing compound for the back window? Looking to do mine and I’m just wondering.
It is not needed. Also did not have glue/glazing compound from the factory when the truck was built.
Nice! TY
@Mark Loper Please answer with how you did it. I looked on your channel for the answer but didn't find anything on this topic!
Can you sow the back glass seal how it looks
I will when I get another one within the next few months
Did you already have the glass, or did they bring it??
Glass is feom the truck originally. Only replaced the rear seal. Front windshield will be all new
I feel you should have painted the outside of the car first in order to put the glass.
the plain was to keep the outside of the truck looking rough but this truck was totaled several years ago.
@@LittleBoyCustomsso this truck doesnt exist anymore?
@abiel.rodriguez the cab is gone but I have rebuilt the truck with a new cab. More of the story is on my channel
What is the difference between the two years .
The shape of the glass. And the length.
do you use sealant?
We do not use a sealant. Only the window rubber.
Do you have an email address that you mind sharing? I have questions.

I th8bk the solid glass looks better too. Thank for watching.
can you lose the music?
What would you rather listen to?
@@LittleBoyCustoms silence is fine. have to turn it up to hear then music comes on and is loud.
@@jeramiakins6347 thanks for the feed back. I'll work on fixing it in the future.
