hey Dave, i know you are busy with the ocean update, but i just wanted to throw this out there for people trryin to level up to 83...with the update the only boats that can be "pulled" by fish are the kayakes...which has made the fight time on perch almost double in a regular boat. You can still "chase" them with the trolling motor. The fish are still there, they still bite...you can still fill a bag in one night on the double hump...its just not as quick as before.
I personally prefer fishing during the day: fish on sunny days at 8-9 pm. You can get 2 uniques in different spots. Since the fight will take that one hour at 9 you will be able to skip nights until you d find another sunny day and repeat
After commenting on the last vid about how soul destroying it is especially as a relative noobie... I upped the hook size and until last night caught uni NP for 23 night peaks straight. Now lvl77 but still think progressing organically thru the game is best. Also of note there's many "features" (bugs) lately.. I've lost 10-20 uni due to low line tension despite feeling and have the rod full back. Also if 1 hooks up 10ft or less from the boat it will reel in but slither off the hook with no explanation. Great guide as always!
I have used your last nile perch video to farm up to 80 there and have to say its an awesome strat. And the nile perch are alot of fun. One thing I noticed: Twitching the shad by holding your rod up (right click on PC) and then just do little "jumps" just above the bottom got me uni and trophy bites around 2-3 times faster and more often. Could of course have been luck but I tested it for about 5 hours with stop and go and 5 hours with the twitching mechanic and the twitching got me way better rates. Maybe something to try for you next time if it sounds interesting. Great video :)

Helpful as always Dave the spots worked wonders personally i used a 8/0 offset hook and a Carolina rig and i caught 2 catfish and about 6 hours of playing and i also caught about 12 unique Nile’s in that timeframe

also another tip for xp per weight i personally use a 1oz 5/0 buzzbait and xseries nymph 4 inch for catching goliaths and tigerfish

Hi Dave , I hated these fish and stopped targeting them because of massive rod jumping and fish falling off the hook during fights with them. Saw this video of yours and started using the texas rig and now it's much better for me. Now I can actually catch them. Thank you for your guides , love your work.

Hi there pal. I'm having a big problem since this morning. None of the fish are actually getting hooked up. The blue bars go up but the hook wont set. I have tried all sorts of things with no luck. I am following your vid for the Nile P's to the letter' First time I ever did this too. Am I being a plonker? What am I maybe not doing? Any advice would be most welcome. Thank you.

For some reason I can not reel my fish all the way in. My line gets stuck at 10feet and stops reeling and it is such a pain trying to net the fish with 10 feet of line out. I restarted my game and it didn't fix it. Using the same setup with the Giants Spin 9000 SE reel. Any advice?
Turned off the keep net and it works fine. Awesome video Dave!

What do i use for bottom rods
I don't really use bottom rods much for these but large minnows can work
-117.65 , -862.33 with jigging spoon.,#6/0 2oz blue/ silver, or yellow/silver line is 70.5 leader is titanium 81.5 long
You don't need a titanium leader for perch the dont bite off line
Your Nile Perch spot is money. If you want to catch fish your guides are the only way to go. Thank you for the amount of time you put into testing this game.

Sadly your method didn't work for me, might be that 14/0 x series does make difference but i haven't got one. Tested for many nights but no luck. Thank for your efforts

I am really starting to dislike you Dave. Every time i try what you say, i'm not going fishing anymore, i'm going to work lol. Fishing should be relaxing, smoking a sigar, having a beer. But when i do it your way, i don't have time for that, it's one fish after the other lol. Like with this video, i use the same setup and spots (only a #10/0 hook instead of a #14/0) and had some good catches with a few uniques and a lot of trofees in one day. Normally i fish daytime, now with a #14/0 hook and nighttime fishing i had 3 uniques and 4 trofees in 15 minutes. Now you see why i can't smoke my sigar and have a beer, i'm exausted lol.

The problem I'm finding with all these guides is that your all using level 80 stuff that doesn't help the lvl 56 who's trying to actually get levels beyond that I'd have to spend like 40$ plus to get them spinning rods this isn't even taking into account that you've just paid for Congo aswell
I guess what I'm saying is we need a guide that is for the average Bob who isn't wanting to soend a fortune to finish the game
1. I didnt pay the Congo in this video everything I use is free in the game.
2. The problem is you are level 56 trying to fish a lvl 75 waterway which I always steer people away from because in can issues like this.
3. You probably bought the Congo Discovery thinking it was the better option, but in reality if you are only going for Nile perch to level, The Wild Africa Pack is better for leveling it has everything to do the same I did in the video.
i did the same thing but lvl up fast at waterfall catching tigers

@soopadavegaming this is what I ended up having to do as the rods I has was under powered but the point I was trying to make was we really need a guide that would explain how to get the most out of venues with limited gear nd such I wasn't trying to come at you in a negative way it was just something I've noticed from alor of the guides around this game everybody's level 80 and almost expectant that you have either brought best rods or are max nd have freedom to get anything when in reality I'm using heavy chasers 🤣I have nile chasseur now so it's no issue but from a new players perspective it would be nice to have some guides that would show how to get the most out the game using under leveled gear at some of the venues
