Dont get me wrong, the first few years was great, but it was after the first few years, that’s when certain things started slowly changing. Which is different from the first 14 years or so, from just being a consort at the time.

No the dowager just wanted to prevent her from getting pregnant.. the emperor is already neglecting his work, the other wives and spending tons of money because of his obsession with Xiangjian the dowager is afraid of how much worse the emperor will get if Xiangjian got pregnant.. she’s just trying to prevent a major crisis
In the harem your ability to produce an heir was your lifeline. By making rong sterile, she ends her chance to ever rise higher and amass power. Once the emperor's favor fades she would have nothing, which would be equivalent to being dead in the harem
