That's because the composer decided to record inside the piano instead of the normal approach. Fits perfectly with the message of the movie don't you think..
You have no idea how much I cried during this movie, the movie is so powerful and had such a strong message, not only that it can really make you realize how you can change someone’s life from hurtful words.. this is the best movie I have ever encountered.
I’m a dude that usually doesn’t cry about movies but this one really touched me as I can relate and made me mad and sad made me feel happy as well the movie is the best I’ve ever seen it was like a roller coaster goin thru emotions and it was great😢
the beauty of koe no katachi can’t be described in words. especially the soundtrack within it, it tells its own story. it makes sounds, describing the feelings in that specific part of anime. it’s truly a beautiful piece of art that can never be forgotten.
I love this piece. When it plays in the movie it's at a point when these two first come together. This song seems to be a metaphor from her perspective. Theres a repeating motif that unfolds as the piece progresses but not only that there's a creative use of pauses in the beginning. I think this is to symbolize the loss of hearing and only being able to understand certain parts of what's going on around you. The first section seems to be pieces of the second section with pauses used to skip over parts of the melody. This coincides with the melody shifting from sad to more melancholy. Theres an implication that the missing information would be useful in understanding what's truly going on. Not only a touching piece at an emotional moment but a beautiful way to paraphrase the story up to that point. Excellent song writing.
I was listening to this with my headphones, and my left one was barely working while my right one was working fine. But I think it makes this piece so much more beautiful, oddly enough. Shouko, on the left, is trying to learn to love herself and Shouya, on the right is trying to learn to understand Shouko better.
@@krisstox5833 I work there too (though I'm on educational leave atm) but I'd get yelled at if I tried to listen to music plus people talk to me with what I do
I saw this movie in 2020. I cry a lot hearing it’s music. It recalls the memories. It’s such a beautiful and a powerful story. It’s really a masterpiece.
It's funny that one day before I watched this movie I would have never been able to imagine how much this movie would mean to me now, years later. Makes me wonder how there may be so many things which I haven't discovered yet or maybe never will, but that's alright. Keep exploring everyone, because you never know what you may encounter. Anime means so much to me now but I would have never been able to have this relation if I never gave it a chance. I am grateful to have watched Koe No Katachi and to have discovered anime. Thank You KyoAni, Yoshitoki Oima, Naoko Yamada, Kensuke Ushio, and everyone involved. Thank You Anime. Thanks a lot. - rizs 05/12/22 2:16 PM.

this movies ost makes me always feel down, but i cant stop listening to them even though its been a long time since i saw the movie. Probably should watch it again.
Mitsuha (assuming you are referring to the Your Name character 三葉) and Nishimiya (西宮) right? Sorry to be a pedantic spelling police but I couldn’t stop myself 😅
Mabye the cuts are supposed to be how Shoko hears things?Being deaf, some noises might sometimes cut off for her and noises would be muffled. Just my thought.
@@havesomesaltytea2230 the cuts are most likely not a matter of sound engineering, recreating the hearing of a deaf person. I don't exactly know what the world sounds like to a deaf person, but I'm fairly certain, that the cuts are just a musical choice to make the music more atmospheric and emotional.
Have some salty tea i’m pretty sure there are stops between the notes because in the movie, this song is being played live at Shoko’s grandmother’s funeral. This is the only live song in the movie, and the pressed are the different piano keys being depressed and released.
This songs style is very similar to a Icelandic composer named Ólafur Arnalds. I recommend that anyone who likes this song should listen to ‘Saman’ By Ólafur Arnalds
I love how you can hear the press of the keys on the piano
My understanding is they had a mic inside the piano as well to pick up the sounds of the hammers themselves striking the strings.
When that happened at the end of lit I broke down ngl
That's because the composer decided to record inside the piano instead of the normal approach. Fits perfectly with the message of the movie don't you think..
right
I guess they were aiming for more a realistic approach to its music.

Can you tell me about the message you are talking about ?
I always cry when watching the movie i go to my room and thinking my past mistakes and that makes me cry even more 😭
I don’t know, for me manga was still better than movie

It's honestly such a great soundtrack. It matches the vibe of the movie so perfectly.
i will cry over and over for this masterpiece

Right back at ya. 👌

I haven't related to anything this much before
The fact the track almost stops and stutters kind of like how a deaf person would speak is that sort of attention to detail everyone needs in life.
I don't think I'll ever find a movie, show, story, or anything like this again. It's hard to put into words just how much I love this film.

Whether you've seen this mobie or not the ost has a beautiful sense of familiarity and originality.
Shed manly tears of manliness when I saw this. This is where men cry. A lot of other people too mind you but men too.

yes for real man, this movie changed my view about life in a good way
that bridge scene is SO GOOD, i mean the only sound in all of that segment was their voices not a single note of ost was in place

"i want you to help me live"
I can't concretely identify what I feel when I hear this song. All I can come up with is warmth.
Breathtaking ❤️✨
In the manga they didn't either dated but at the end... It's unexpected❤️
