    Thanks Angela! I use your planting calendar all the time.
    A small gardening group meets at my house, and some of our members have also purchased your calendars at my recommendation.
    I actually bought 2 of them because the dog ate my first one.

    You are my FAVORITE gardening-tip source. I'm launching my brand new greenhouse and have already started lettuce, tomatoes and hopefully
    watermelon. My three watermelons are doing really good and strong. We don't need the music in the background. You do a great enough job
    to not need it.

    I just bought Moringa tree seeds. I live in Santan Valley. I guess I have to wait til March to plant them. I have 5 ac in Pearce, Az which is where I'll be planting. Also Queenland/Kurrajong trees.

      I have moringa in small pots sitting on my raised bed and I’m not sure if it’s stays till winter 🥶 I’m thinking of planting in big pots I harvested the pods and kept it in prescription bottles maybe will starts more 😊👩‍🌾❤️

      Moringa is pretty frost sensitive. If you have several seeds you could try planting now and then plant again if it dies over winter. Not sure about the other tree. The best time to plant almost everything is in October though.

    I just stumbled onto your channel. Not in Az but in the SoCal low desert so also in zone 9b. 95-110 summers and winters can get down to 30-40 in Jan nights for a few hours but we generally only get that light frost for a few weeks. Daytime winter is usually above 50 but a Feb day can range from 35 at night to 85 in the day. So happy to get tis for the heat in particular! Thanks! Just watched your strawberry video bc they haven't been surviving in my garden. Gonna try them behind the asparagus this spring for afternoon shade. Thanks!

    Have you composted with alfalfa, ive gotten scraps from a AZ pellet plant and its great , just needed to compost fully, as the blends use Burmuda grass, and it loves our heat, terrible weed once it comes.
    The first ingredient in compost starter is alfalfa meal.

    Love watching your videos as a beginning gardener in Apache Junction! I just started my first raised bed and it has gotten overtaken with unwanted mushrooms! Do you have any suggestions on avoiding this? I can’t keep up with picking them all every day! Thanks for your time!

    • @GrowingInTheGarden

      Usually means too much moisture - cut back on watering if you can.

    If I put food scraps in the dirt I'd get all sorts of critters trying to dig it up and eat them. We've got opossums, armadillos, skunks, raccoons, etc here.

    Thanks so much for another great video! I have a patio in Peoria and have containers only, so appreciated you including them.
    Tulle is great for so many uses in the garden - glad to know you use it too. I also got some kitchen storage containers, put large holes in them, and use them for mini compost bins in my plant containers 🪴.
    Thanks for all the wonderful advice! When will your 2025 garden planning calendars come out, and will they include gardening in containers?

    • @GrowingInTheGarden
      @GrowingInTheGarden  10 днів тому +1

      Thanks! The calendars are perpetual so they never expire. The planting date information is the same for containers.

    My garden looks horrible. Omg... it's like a blanket of aphids and leaf burrowers landed on everything. It started with the okra. Then my pumpkins. They overtook all the flowers to the point that everything shriveled. Idk what to do. It seemed to happen overnight. I want to plant for Fall but I'm terrified. Everything grew from seed wonderfully but quickly were pest ridden. 😮‍💨

    I wasn’t sure where to post this question so posting on your latest video.
    I see you have a playlist of organic pests control but how do you handle pests like beetles, scorpions, crickets that get into the home? i’m torn between having my home sprayed and killing beneficials but for the first time in 26 years there was a scorpion in my bed last night. I just have an over abundance of crickets and beetles too. What do you do? I was thinking to only get my inside and just around the foundation of my home sprayed but I’m not sure a pest control company will do that. Any advice?

    • @GrowingInTheGarden
      @GrowingInTheGarden  3 дні тому +1

      It's a struggle for sure. There does seem to be an abundance this year. I don't spray, but my husband does hunt for scorpions around the doors and perimeter of our house. We get them inside sometimes too. No easy answers.

      @slporter722 3 дні тому

      @@GrowingInTheGarden I have decided to spray inside the floorboards of the house and along the foundation outside. Do you know if this will be a threat to the beneficials? Even if it is just around the foundation?

    How do I know if soil is hydrophobic?

    • @GrowingInTheGarden
      @GrowingInTheGarden  10 днів тому +1

      The water will run off the soil rather than being absorbed. Good question.
