My backlog of titles to watch is so large, but hearing your excitement for this film and set makes me want to put it near the top of my watchlist. Get Carter can wait.
I've just recently discovered a TV film similar to this called 'The Hard Way' starring Patrick Mcgoohan and Lee Van Cleef. Check this out too if you haven't already. It's brilliant.
I'm glad you like it. The film does indeed grow on you! I wrote Hendry's biography, Send in the Clowns, and narrated the commentary on his career which was an extra feature in the boxset.
Oh my lord. Seriously? One of the great unsung actors of, well, any generation. So subtle. Even his bad guys were complex and worthy of empathy; The Hill & Get Carter spring to mind.
