@@randyman78596 yeah the infinity reference amp I had was too much for one sub but I tuned it pretty good. It had plenty of power and actually sounded clean. Of course I used 1" mdf for the box so it was quite heavy
It’s pretty astonishing. I’ve been telling people about these subs and how they are actually pretty decent and you are just proving with tests I couldn’t perform! Thank you!
I'd love to see 4 of these in maybe 2 prefab boxes that are the same both amps wired to 1 ohm. Stack the boxes on top of one another. Would be awesome!
I just watched the last video with 2 subs wired to amp at 1 ohm & the spl score is close to the same with 2 amps wired down at 2 ohms each. Like the videos u make, very informative ✌️
Same wattage same spl. You have to double come area or double wattage to gain 3db. If he had two Amps that put out the same wattage as the first amp did at 1ohm. He would have gained the 3db. Nothing changed. A doubling of power or cone area will result in 3db. 9 db gain is the double of loudness. Either way I'm digging this.
I like amps wired at 2 ohms. Better dampening factor. Less work the amp has to do to resist the voltage coming back from the coils. Tighter cone control better sounding bass.
Those subs in the correct enclosure are crazy!!! I biult a custom 5 cubic foot vented center console in my Dodge Power Wagon with 2 of those subs and a skar 2000W Mono Amp. Subs and port are facing up. Tuned to 30hz..... Probably the best sounding subs for the money I've heard yet! I may try and down fire them before adding details to the console itself. See what sounds better. If i keep them firing upward I may add 2 more and isobaric them together. Maybe that's pointless with these subwoofers but for the price 🤔 I'll probably end up trying it lol
I ended up swapping them out for a deal on a pair of P3 12s... I did a new console thats downfiring with the p3s. So far I say downfiring is the way to go in a truck cab... I do have the p3s running off of 4 of those power acoustic amplifiers though. So each coil has its own amplifier and seeing 450rms at 4ohms per. Clean af 👌
I have a pretty similar story. I had the same amps. And a single dual 4 ohm Rockville k9 12. I just bought the amp because i didn't have the money to buy a better one at the time. I was so impressed with it with the sub wired down to 2 ohms, i bought another one and wired each coil with its own amp. I knew that there would be less power per amp, being 4 ohms instead of 2 but I assumed it would work the amps less hard and might gain some spl from it, as well as quality. I can tell you that its louder and cleaner with a single amp. These amps really just love low impedance i think. So eventually I'll order a second k9 d4 and be pounding. Just for a little background, it is an sq system. I used all high-end 8 ohm drivers to replace the factory speakers, and a class a/b kicker 4ch. Amp. Can't stress how important it is to use class a/b for mids/highs. I know there are really fancy class d amps that will do high-fidelity like a class a/b, but for what i can afford I'll do class a/b. Class d is fine for bass but..........
Ran mine on 1 ohm on a Kicker CompR 12, blew both the fuses after 10 minutes and after jumping them smoked the kicker after 5. I've tried three of the Power Acostik subs and they all blew within a week, finally bought myself some Skar Audio subs and amps and couldn't be happier.
From my understanding, on paper at least, you have to add 10x as much power or 10x as many drivers to double volume (10db gain). Doubling the number of drivers or doubling output power will give about a 3db gain which some regard to be around the smallest volume difference the average human ear can detect. Just in case anyone is curious and this doesn't really hold up in the real world, just some approximations with other variables removed. Good video. I am really enjoying this series. I would be interested in seeing some other subs tested in the same way, maybe different amps as well but I think it would be interesting to see different price ranged subs benchmarked on the same setup. Need to reverse the speakers in the box and see what it does bc I did that along time ago and it seemed to hit harder but I also built my own box not a bought box changing the air ports and everything
Each sub was at two ohms wired parallel to one ohm on one amp. Now each sub is still wired two ohms, but going to one amp per woofer which equals same power output. Using the two amps will give you a little more headroom as they will not be getting as hot as one amp doing all the work. Probably will not go into thermal protection with the two amps as opposed to one amp.
Another one of those boxes and 2 more of those subs would give you the opportunity to wire both amps back down to 1ohm. It would sound amazing stacked.
But if you think about it Parker, you're giving equal power to each sub. I'm not saying that that's better by any means for gain on db, but for the long haul the way you have them setup now, could give them a longer life. Like most of us, I love extreme bass. But there are some that this setup would be absolutely bomb an perfect for. I have one of these subs sitting around that I wanna put in the car for my wife, I've just been trying to find the right amp for it. Deeply appreciate you taking the time an money to show that you don't always have to spend big money for some good bump! Thanks Parker, you're doing a great service!! Can't wait to see the 4 12 setup!
Your results are proof. adding the other amp gave you higher db what if you test again with one amp but use the power from both amps on the one to see if it's a input supply from the CCA resistance. I've run two amps on a dvc sub had same results sounded louder with two amps but the input watts was 10% less with two amps while the output watts was kept the same. i wish i would've tested each amp independently now to see if it was a component tolerance issue.
Exact same amp I use. But, I took off the back cover and put a fan on it. Hasn't tripped since, ran it on 1 ohm since day one, I run the absolute piss out of this amp and it put out maybe 800 watts max. Two Audiobahn AW1206T 12's wired to 1 ohm. It works and never dies (anymore).

A difference of 133.8 to 134.2 decibels is actually a significant increase in noise level. Decibels aren’t measured linearly, they are exponential, so for every 10dB increase, multiply the lower number to the 10th degree; the higher the dB, the greater the difference in noise there is between smaller increments of change.
I know a guy that has 4 of these Power Acoustic subs and it's had me tempted on buying 4 of them for my Honda. What I want to know is how they perform in a big, low HZ tuned box. Maybe put your two into a box with an areo port and play with the tuning of the box for a video to explain on T/S specs and how different subs want different boxes and tuning.
I've been running a power acoustic mofo 152x for over a year . It bangs hard. I am using a powerbass xma-1205d amplifier, which is much better than power acoustic though...

Depends of the vehicle (resonate frequency of the cabin) I typically tune close to fs which for these I'd tune lower than 36 (I personally ran 4 in a box tuned to 28 and they did decent on about 2k)

wasn’t expecting that at all with a second amp. Rise is a thief lol. Now I think the next step should be build a custom box for those two subs and run the testing again! The skar prefab is decent at that power level but I’m curious to see how much difference a custom box would make! Really cool series and Im enjoying it!

Just too lazy to go throw in the bank of maxwell ultra caps sitting here lol Took me idk 6 generations of changes to reach that 38.5 but damn proud of it off a single 10
Parker good video thank you for your time bud. Impedance rise is killing the power you are getting at the woofer, but you're thinking ahead to 4 woofers. Would you do a video in this series to educate your fans about impedance rise thx.
So his power acoustics are getting like 15db more than my svr’s are on an rp1500. Though I never did retest when I shot the port to the back of the trunk rather than right behind the seats. Course it was also before I did high output alternator and big 3 as well.
I can say for sure that I had one on a Rockville k9 12, then got another one so I had one per coil. Not a huge difference but I truly believe it's loudest with one @ 2 ohms instead of 2 @ 4ohms. I didn't see the first video, I'm super intrigued to hear the verdict.
Man I’ve always seen these duals In Walmart I kinda want to test it in my truck I love you’re videos !! Really in depth and step by step because of you I might run some 6.5 CT SOUNDS MESO just need to find a box for them
Dang man . I subbed a while back when u had like 3k subs and havent been back in a while and ur channel has exploded along with the quality and entertainment value as well . Doing good bro keep it commin.
@4:33 i had one of those amps and they are 2 ohm stable One channel mono block obviously, So when you were running it at 1 ohm that’s actually too low of impedance for it. The impedance now is correct. I don’t know how you were able run it at 1 ohm without it going into protect mode?
At this point you should start swapping individual parts out to see which one gives you the biggest bang for the buck. I also really like your feedback since the numbers are nice, but how it sounds is always subjective.
I have one hooked to two 12 inch kicker subs, wired to 1ohm.. solo classic 12/kicker comp c 12, in a comp c prefab box. Growls very nice. Then added a 10inch rockford fosgate punch he 8ohm in qlogic sealed box. The depth is VERY noticeable. Idk what 8ohm addition changed ohm load to, but amp does not get hot.

double the amp power will generally mean a 3db increase in loudness, just like doubleing the number of loudness sources.
Good to know that one Walmart amp worked with those 2 subs
Throw those things on a smart3. I'm running 2 gothics on a Cab22 with a 180amp alternator and a 24ah lithium. It's tearing the hatch off my CRV.
I didn't see the first video, I'm super intrigued to hear the verdict.
so 1 larger amp at 1 Ohm would be great for a 2 sub setup I'm guessing. good to know!
Congratulations on the subs!! 👍👍🤗 The people, not the Power acoustics😆👍👍 Keep it going dude!!
Thank you man!!
I remember when good gear was a lot cheaper then it is now nice low budget stuff.
Man I’ve always seen these duals In Walmart I kinda want to test it in my truck I love you’re videos !! Really in depth and step by step because of you I might run some 6.5 CT SOUNDS MESO just need to find a box for them
They arent Duals. They are Power Acoustic
@@kjsmolik I know they aren’t duals. but I’m saying ive seen duals I wanted to try from Walmart
@@robertomartinez6417 I see
They sound great love it
That spider looked like he was having a blast! Lol
Dang man . I subbed a while back when u had like 3k subs and havent been back in a while and ur channel has exploded along with the quality and entertainment value as well . Doing good bro keep it commin.
Dang man you’re an OG!! I appreciate you so much
Alright now you gotta hook em up to the taramps!!
Good work! Been here since the old rockville 10!
Dang man you’ve been her since the beginning!! I appreciate you
Interesting I thought about doing this same setup
That is some fire subwoofer build. Really entertaining upload
Parker really be putting work into his videos and they are fire. Thanks Bro
@4:33 i had one of those amps and they are 2 ohm stable One channel mono block obviously, So when you were running it at 1 ohm that’s actually too low of impedance for it. The impedance now is correct. I don’t know how you were able run it at 1 ohm without it going into protect mode?
Another good video. 👍👍
Thanks for touching on the impedance or ohm load. I see those questions asked so often.
At this point you should start swapping individual parts out to see which one gives you the biggest bang for the buck. I also really like your feedback since the numbers are nice, but how it sounds is always subjective.
On my mamma @Parker the bass head got the hardest bass music Playlist I done ever heard!!!!🤣 I need all them songs
Can't Wait for the sundown build
A bunch of the stuff came in for it yesterday!!
Those power acoustics are pretty decent. Got one in the wife's chevy cruze n it shakes the wipers.
