If he rose out of the Hudson and walked up on shore don't you think someone would have noticed the Giant marshmallow Man at that point don't you think that's when a panic would have started
As someone who is trying to write a Ghostbusters comic, these videos have been the best source of info to look at in quick video format. This was another excellent video. I wish so much that Stay Puft appeared out of the Hudson. It always seems like he just appears out of thin air in the film and game and comics.
If Slimer was the ally he later became for the Ghostbusters he probably would have devoured Mr.Stay Puft, save the boys the effort and focus on sealing the door.
Might be interesting to do a video on how Destructor forms work. My two cents: The Destructor form is something that should normally induce terror and panic. If Gozer couldn't find one person to think of something bad, it would probably go from person to person, taking little things along the way to end up with something like the thing from _Watchmen._ Obviously, the Vuldronaii are all afraid of large, moving Torbs, and Shubs and Zuuls are terrified of Giant Sloars. Whatever these things are, they're not good. However, once you get to New York City, there's a lot of people who are afraid of different things. Someone's afraid of clowns; someone's afraid of pictures of molluscs; someone's terrified of spiders. So you get a giant spider with a clown head and squid's tentacles...and a few other parts. _Ray,_ however, hit upon the form of the marshmallow man, and his thought was so clear and so strong that it overrode everything else.
The Ghostbusters were tasked with willingly choosing the form of the destructor. Peter wanted nobody to chose anything, to empty their heads to prevent it, but Ray took it upon himself to choose the most harmless thing he could imagine, the Stay Puft Marshmallow man.
My question about the idea popping into his head, would she just stop after awhile-The ghostbusters just keeping their mind clear for so long? If not, what does it matter?
The spiritual Labyrinth was beneath the museum the Hudson River the Sedgewick Hotel among other places that was meant for channel and spiritual energy at the construction of a new destructive form I'm guessing with the power to evil schindele had collected so far use the we construct a weaker destructive form for goza and resurrect him as punishment for his first failure and also evil shinda want the rest of the power to create his own destructive form that is why he was so weak and Ray speculated that he was weaker than the first encounter I'm only come across the thought that he might be being punished by shandor for his failure to destroy New York and take over but that's just a theory but the Ghostbusters game is be released for PlayStation 4 if anyone wants to play it enjoy and thank you for putting this out there I'd love this stuff
I always considered Stay Puft and Gozer to be two different entities. That's why Gozer was a woman (the short convo between Ray, Winston and Egon talk about it when she appears*), then tells them to choose the form of the Destructor. When Ray thinks of Stay Puft, and Venkman argues that nobody thought of anything, Gozer states the "Traveler has come" Maybe I missed the whole transformation of Gozer becoming Stay Puft. * Ray: It's Gozer. Winston: I thought Gozer was a man Egon: It's whatever it wants to be
It's implied that Gozer takes the form, not some different entity. Vinz Clortho states this for example. Also, in the canonical Ghostbusters videogame, we see Shandor holding Gozer's skull, which clearly implies he/she died with the Marshmallow Man.
I would love if someone made a video about the cartoon version of Stay Puft from The Real Ghostbusters and how he became his own ghost instead of just a form of Gozer’s . In the cartoon timeline after the events of the first movie which are canon to the cartoon as well, Mr. Stay Puft comes back but he’s just him and not a Gozer form but they explained how that version came to be.
He became a good guy, too. He chills out inside the containment unit, and Slimer, whom he calls his "little buddy", goes in to get him when the Ghostbusters need his help.
Cool. It's already been done by James Rolfe (for the movie), but it's great to see what the places look like today as opposed to back then. You could collab with him! He's a Ghostbusters nut too :D
Dan and Harold originally gave Winston almost every funny line. When they reduced Winston’s role, he lost a lot of dialogue and they just kept whittling the part down.
What I'm curious about is during the first film. So if stay puft did make to the top off the high rise then what? Once he got up there what was suppose to happen next?
Stay Puff was waist deep in the Hudson River, but the river is about 200ft deep in New York. While S.P. is exactly 112.5 ft tall. The math doesn't add up. The river would have to be approximately 61ft deep for the water to be only waist high. *Sips tea, then spills it & chucks the cup into an unparallel universe.*
There's a quote by late producer Michael C. Gross on p. 184 of the 1985 book Making Ghostbusters by Don Shay which says "Originally, we were going to have [him] rise up out of the river, right by the Statue of Liberty, to give him scale."
Yeah they couldn't do it though because they found it would cost way too much money to make those shots. So they just had him appear among the buildings instead. It works as is, but it would have been awesome seeing him emerge from the Hudson.
I've been working on a remake of the Ghostbusters Table top rpg. Using The Real Ghostbusters as my monster manual. It just gives me an excuse to do lots of research by watching the cartoon. XD
The problem you will run into with the entire series of "The Real Ghostbusters" is they are inconsistent with the power ratings of the spirits and demons. It's whatever sounded fun in the script. The creators of the cartoon weren't keen on keeping lore cannon. So you're going to have to take it with a grain of salt.
hate to break it to you yes Stay Puft was in the game. But it was not Gozer If you where hearing egon say the the readings werent big enough to be a remanifest of gozer the gozerian
It was Gozer. Upon its second defeat, Ray shouts ""Scoreboard reads: Ghostbusters, two! Gozer the Gozerian, zero! " and when confronting Ivo Shandor he states that Gozer failed him, twice. It was a significantly weaker manifestation but it was him.
@@ChannelingSpirits Yep. Gozer in the first movie appear after the containment unit explode and the surge of PKE go straight to Dana's building opening the gate. In the game he manifest after the big surge at the start from Ilyssa being in the museum and unknowingly activating the mandala. I think the mandala would have kept feeding energy to Gozer and made him stronger but the Ghostbusters destroyed his weak physical manifestation before that could happen.
I think Gozer the gozerian might have teleported from shandor Island to the middle of New York using his Avatar state in the Ghostbusters video game right as if he gone has the marshmallow man in his sight you just know we lost them how the hell you lose a sight of a giant marshmallow man I speculate that goes are teleported the site where his Target was that's why he gone had lost sight of the Marshmallow Man by The Power of teleportation but that's just a theory not as good E equals MC square
You are the second one to say that so it's interesting that a couple of people saw them as separate. Based on Vinz Clortho: "Gozer the Traveller. He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldronaii, the Traveller came as a large moving Torb! Then during the third reconciliation of the last of the Meketrex supplicants, they chose a new form for him, that of a giant Sloar! Many Shubs and Zulls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of a Sloar that day, I can tell you." And Ghostbusters the Video Game repeated calls Stay Puft as Gozer.
Not trying to be that guy but in the game Winston tells everyone that he spent 4 hours trying to get to the Sedgwick Hotel. Meaning that either Gozer enjoys taking its sweet time or this is incorrect.
One, your belief in the MTA is admirable, at best. Two, you’re dealing with a transit system in the 90’s and we cannot look at it from our modern perspective of easily texting one and another or being able to look up traffic accidents to avoid them. These were the days before Mapquest, and it is hard to say what route Winston was taking to get to Sedgewick. So let’s say by car, many people in the first movie are running from their vehicles and Stay Puft in the video game is throwing them. Not a great option if not impossible to get through by car. Maybe he is stuck on the subway with no way to escape. Or perhaps he is going by foot, there is nothing circa 91 that would likely prove he is an off-duty Ghostbuster which would allowed him on-scene of a rampaging marshmallow man. So four hours in New York? Not unrealistic.
