  • Balancing beads? are they a cure all or snake oil???
you ask around you will hear both sides of the fence, the short answer, they worked for my jeep and mistys. We are totally happy with these. In this video I talk about benefits of them and what to expect if you use them
If you are looking to buy from where we both bought ours,,,, contact Joe with Rio Rancho Tires...

I run ABC tire beads on my 33s 10 oz each. One of the best mods I’ve ever done. No vibrations at all. These ABC beads are a little different from others. They are actually made from tempered glass with silicone coating. They actually create static and want to stay in place until vibrations cause them to spread and level where needed.

Yellow -heavy, red -flat spot, if its single dots no matter the color it lines uo with valve stem, if its red and yellow as your tire its always the red dot goes to valve stem.👍👍

I think the beads works great, you mentioned slow acceleration and moist climates, I live in Toronto Canada we have wet springs and humid summers and I've never had an issue not to mention I installed them in my motorcycle (CB750) not a crotch rocket but also not a cruiser I have gone from 0 to 100k (60mph) in a matter of seconds I've even done over 200k (125mph) without an issue

Glad to hear they don’t clump in moist areas!
I should of specified... the ‘steady acceleration ‘ is more of a big tire thing.

    I'm running 375/65R-16 (36x15.50) MTZs on my 2003 Superduty. They weigh 86lbs.
At around 40mph it's horrible. The shop that installed my lift and mounted the tires said that's all they could do with them.. Between the BDS lift kit, and the tires and rims, I've got the best of everything.. I don't want to wear it out because they can't get one tire balanced!! I just learned about the beads and I'm going to try it...

i had balance beads in my 2 door i just traded in, 3 of my 4 tires needed UNDER 10 ounces and would ride smooth as glass. one of my tires needed 18 ounces of weight and i couldn't pin it down. ultimately i got mad and vacuumed them out (i had beadlocks) and went to northridge 4x4 in denver, co and they did a super nice balance. smooth up to 80! so you are right, they are awesome when they work. i kept the beads so i can re-use if needed. one tire needed 3 ounces, 2 needed 6-8 and that one needed 18 lol! and i think my spare took right at 10.

Great video. I have a Honda VTX 1800 motorcycle that I run a car tire on the back. Due to the issue balancing a car tire on a motorcycle wheel, I have balance beads in it. They have worked great and the increase in miles on the tire has been significant. My next set of tire on the jeep will have the beads in it as well.

So far... we are both happy with the decision to use these.. thou every time i go to air down... it takes longer then normal for 1-2 tires... it’s always a different tire also.. The problem I have encountered with balancing beads is about temp and dew point gradients in the winter. When the dew point inside the tire is lower than outside, moisture in the air n the tire precipitates and falls to the bottom. Then, it freezes and clumps the beads. Obviously, this results in extreme imbalance.

Nitrogen-filled tires are advantageous because nitrogen gas doesn't support moisture or combustion.
