And he used to come down the order after his team's talented openers - Greenidge & Haynes - used to complete the job of harassing/tiring the opposition bowlers & taking off the shine of the ball. Whereas, Sehwag had to face the new ball as an opener. Note that Sehwag was actually a middle-order batsman, but he was forced to open, as the likes of Ganguly, Tendulkar, Laxman, etc. didn't want to face the new ball in Tests. So he was always very hard to get out once he used to face off the new ball. If he had the privilege of Richards to come down the order, his records would have been much more staggering.
