Trucker Steve, it’s me again and for the last time; I don’t like feeling like I’m bugging a person. After I complete the Forward offset, I set my breaks, out the truck in neutral, and honk my horn, then I get out or wait for the examiner to tell me about the next maneuver, which is the reverse offset, what do I do to start the next maneuver, which is the reverse offset?
Forward offset tracking: after you come out of the alley, you will stop at the top of the lane. Fairly- hopefully straight and parallel to the outer boundary line on your left. Yes you will blow your horn ( tractor in park ). The tester will give you instructions for the reverse offset. See the videos on offset or review with your instructor at your CDL School. You seem to know what to do- everything you are writing is correct.
I just see other instructors here on UA-cam start the reverse offset different from how my school taught me. To begin the reverse blonde side offset, they tell me to reverse until the right cone is in-between my right tandems, once I do that, stop and then give it the hard left to start getting my truck in the box.
I’ve seen instructors on here who tell you to reverse and arrange the truck where it is on top of the hash mark, and then pull up forward and then do the hard left. I’ve seen an instructor tell a student to back up until the cone is in front of the front right tandem tire and then do the hard left. I don’t know if these are always you can do it, there is no right or wrong between all these, or if one is right and the other isn’t. I want to use what will work during exam.

Is yard jockey good start up job to get experience?
Great 👍 start up job. My first job assignment at UPS was a Yard Jockey. After a few weeks, I was really good backing trailers.
