New to carp fishing. My bait consists of pineapple jello, bread crumbs, cream corn, oatmeal, whole corn, corn meal in any of those combinations. The key for me is having a few kernels on a hook below the bait bomb. I purchased the spring type devices and they hold the bait well, oh yeah, karo syrup helps. Sprinkle a bit of white flour in the bucket if it's a little loose. The trout fisherman ask why carp? well, once you catch one you will know....
I use a lot of those same ingredients in my bait...I also use method leads to hold my packbait...I don't use corn on the hook because I catch to many catfish..I prefer pops or boiles
@@klutchdust4346 couple of months ago I caught a 3o+ lbs blue catfish on plain pops while Carp fishing.. thought I had a record Carp....lolzz....and you are right once you catch a good size carp...lot of other fish can't match up.
I didn't know that...everyone calls them carp...they say there are 3 different types of Buffalo big mouth...small mouth and black Buffalo...are they the same
Dang brother that’s a big’un now but it would’ve been hard for me to use them grits instead of eating them lollllllllllllllllllllllll. Great job brother be safe and GOD BLESS
yes sir...you can make forever grits...4 lb instant grits 2 lb quick grits about 16oz of Karo syrup and 2 oz of any flavor you want... mix together and let sit for atleast 1 day... should be ready after that... may have to tweak it if you need more Karo or flavor
I order mine off ebay....its called flossine...its what you make cotton candy with.... just powder sugar and flavor.....works great....comes in about 12 different flavors.
Smallmouth buffalo and bigmouth buffalo are not carp. They are classed as a minnow...a real big minnow. However, they are fun to catch. Ladybird Lake in Texas is reputed to have some over 50 lbs. I catch them locally on plain ol' canned sweet corn with soaked in a liquid flavor. A friend sometimes adds a piece of a red worm to his hook. My best is 26-9. Looking for a 30!
Buffalo's are sucker fish, the belong to the catostomidae family which is the sucker family. Carp are minnows, they belong to the cyprinidae which is the minnow family.
@@WishingIWasFishing73 yeah I use to say the same thing until I was told a few years ago and I looked it up.They're actually native to North America.Still a great fish you caught.
32 pound Buffalo! Wow! Fish like that really get your adrenaline pumping!🙂👍

I buy it at a local bait shop… it’s called Flossine…cotton candy concentrate…comes in all kinds of flavors
Is it possible to make this without the cream corn, the pay lakes that I fish don't allow corn

Here in s.c the best bait for buffalo is soybean or parko pack bait
in paylake tournament carp fishing buffalo are counted as carp even though they are only distant relatives. They eat the same baits.

YOUR GRITS WOULD MAKE A GOOD DOUGH BAIT
I've never tried to ..make grits dough bait... now I'm thinking about it.
ONE THING ABOUT PAY LAKES, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TURN YOUR FISH BACK LOSE
at the carp lakes you do...they want them there for tournaments
