as soon as you said "Ghostbusters" I instantly called that beautiful face. the dude getting shocked so hard his gum fell out of his mouth still gets a smile outta me thinking about it.
I kept thinking… where have I seen this lady? Charles and Charge and Quantum LEAP!! And my favorite family was the Powells.😊 When you do the video on the original Quantum Leap… I am there! Absolutely loved Quantum Leap!!
How nice that Jennifer reached out to you personally to thank you for this post! Another informative video told with kindness and respect. BTW, I love that Jennifer Runyan is involved with a program to help teens dealing with trauma and mental health issues! Very much needed! I teach HS, and I see young people dealing with serious issues on a regular basis. Thank you and Blessings to you both!
Oh, PLEASE do a video on how Jennifer and Susan became friends. That sounds fascinating. Also, I thank GOD everyday that my mom was able to stay home with two out of three of us. Unfortunately, the situation "changed" for the third of us and it was all downhill from there. So, I 1000% concur.
My jam was Quantum Leap! Of course the original series with Backula and Stockwell. This actress was so beautiful back in the day. I loved seeing her! Thanks Dave for doing this video.
Personally for me, the family from the first season of Charles in charge what's my favourite. For me I think it goes back to that age-old debate as to whether or not a TV show i maintains its strength when new characters replace original ones. I still watched the show to the very end however it just didn't seem to have the same dynamic as the first season.
I just watched the Brady Bunch!!😂 I knew who she was when you mentioned her playing in the Brady Bunch. Thank you Dave. I wish you a happy Monday, my friend 😊
One of my early recollections of Jennifer was in a TV movie called Blue de Ville. Only ever saw the film once and don't recall much of the plot but remember how gorgeous Jennifer was in it.
I am clad she having a good life after acting. The little boy from the Penbroke family on Charles in Charge was my favorite of that family, but I really enjoyed the Powell family more. Looking forward to your video on Quantum Leap. That was one of my favorite shows.😊
If I could give this video 100 thumbs up I would in an instant. Just watched '18 Again' last night (on tubi) and she was just darling in the role. Wikipedia didn't really offer much info on her, so thanks for filling in the blanks. You are a true treasure Dave.
Good evening, Dave! It's been awhile! I'm glad you made this video-i have always loved Jennifer Runyon, and always tried to see everything she was in. And just as she faded from the spotlight, so too did she fade from my mind until now. As a horror fan and a B-movie fan, i will definitely have to find those 3 horror movies [not just for Jennifer, but because of the horror genre as well] Was never a big fan of the Brady's-but i watched it once in awhile when there was nothing else to watch or if i was bored. Glad to know she's still alive and doing well and that she has a happy, fullfilling life. Thank you Dave for rekindling an old flame and i hope you are doing well also. Have a great evening.
The best thing I’ve ever seen her in is “The In-Crowd” from 1988. She plays a beautiful but ditsy dancer on an American Bandstand-type afternoon show in the 1960s. It’s on YT if interested. I discovered it one day when I was home with the flu. 😍
Hi Dave! Good to see you back! I was watching your videos yesterday and I had a thought: I’d love to see you cover actress Brenda Vaccaro. She gets very overlooked. And she was in a TV show l loved, “Sara”, set in the 1800’s where she played a schoolteacher. It’s one of those shows that seems to have gotten lost over the years. I love these videos. You do amazing work. Love from Australia❤️
I didn't realize the Powells weren't the original family until much later as I began watching it when it was in syndication. Charles In Charge was great I hope that you also cover shows from the 1990s as there were plenty of sitcoms, fantasy , scii and action shows from that era.
Jennifer Runyon's most memorable role was in the opening scene of Ghostbusters in 1984. She had a tiny scene at Peter Venkman's Parapsychology lab. She was adorable. I had a crush on her from then on. Arill, Jennifer's role in the Brady Bunch Christmas special was still good though.
I'm 20 years old, so I'm too young to have seen the show when it was coming out, but I just recently discovered "Charles in Charge." I love it! I'm barely watching season 2 right now, so I've gotten about one season with each family. It's hard because I did love the Pembrooks, and I got used to them. On the other hand, I do really like the Powells, too, but I'm still trying to adjust to the dynamic of that family. Short story long, I'm still trying to make up my mind on who I like more.😅 One thing I do know, I love Charles haha. Buddy is really funny and I like him, too...but I also loved Gwendolyn Pierce. GWENDOLYN PIERCE!
"To All a Goodnight" was actually the first slasher flick released in the 80s. It came out 3 months before "Friday the 13th"- so Jennifer was the first final girl of 80's slashers.
Yes, she was. And speaking as a slasher fanatic, I still rank her in my top 3 Final Girls. She was so gorgeous, but also so sweet and warm and sympathetic...she was the kind of girl a man would want to protect from the killer(ironically, her boyfriend in the film went and hid when she needed him)...She was just about perfect...
Definitely preferred the Pembroke family. It would be great to see a video or videos on where the actors that played Lila, Douglas, and Jason are these days.
Hey Dave! This is off-topic, BUT I want to let you know I came across one of your Amazon reviews! I happened to see a link for an electric kettle and then linked to a similar item. I viewed one video review, and then the next one rolled automatically. Right away when that second review started in, I thought, "That voice sounds familiar." And then I saw the name: The Good Stuff Store. The item is the Chefman 1.7 Liter Electric Glass Tea Kettle. You boiled the water for some Vietnamese Pho. Needless to say, if you put your stamp of approval on this tea kettle, I'm sold 😃.
@6:28 That is Charlie Schlatter in the inset picture. I acted in a student film in college that Charlie was also in. I jokingly say I can play 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon in 3 degrees. Student film to Bright Lights Big City (Charlie and Sutherland), to A Few Good Men. Stupid, I know, but it amuses my inner 5 year old.
The Brady 500 was the sequel to A Very Brady Christmas, which lead to the short lived drama tv series The Brady's. I remember her from Ghostbusters and Charles In Charge Dave! 🏎👻🚫📺
I'm not to familiar with her face except knowing her from Brady bunch she was a beauty need to check out the horror movie with a santa murderer oh i forgot about her being in Ghostbusters she was a heartthrob thanks for sharing Dave great video
@Cade Evans I remember her Ghostbusters and Charles In Charge. The forth coming Ghostbusters sequel to GB Afterlife is coming soon! Walter Peck will return as well as the original cast Bill Murray with Paul Rudd and Mckenna Grace. 👻🚫🎥👍
"Gwendolyn Pierce"? At least she had a last name, unlike Charles, who may have been related to the last-nameless families from MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE & ACCORDING TO JIM.
Somebody already mentioned "The In Crowd", one of the later movies of the 1980's. A decent print is on YT. Really excellent choreography and a great performance by Joe Pantoliano who gives a hilarious summary of "Tale of Two Cities" in a high school class.
She was active on Facebook a while back with lots of picture of her daughter that looks so much like her. There’s even some video of her at home in Boise Idaho.
She is still pretty today. I think I should watch her movies, I still have saved her movie The in Crowd but the one I have watched alot is Tag Team pilot episode along with Roddy Piper and Jesse Ventura. You should also mention that one. She was awesome too just as these two wrestling stars. It's here on UA-cam. ❤
trivia question....how does the brady bunch connect to the halloween franchise?.....bobby's (mike lookinland) wife played one of michael's vicitms in H4, in the garage murder spree scene before michael is able to find another captain kirk mask to wear for trick-or-treating.
You seemed skeptical on the conflict with Susan Olson's shooting schedule. What do you believe is the real reason she wasn't in a A Very Brady Christmas?
I believe the conflict provided Susan with a legitimate reason not to participate. That said, I've heard she wasn't pleased with what she had been offered.
Her husband is one very lucky man to have won her. I'm not sure but I think I might have gotten a reply from her once on a certain social media going on 10 yrs ago.
Wow...444 likes, not a number I want to mess around and change...Count me as 445 but I won't ruin the vibe, 444 is a number that is quite devine...as are you, my friend. Thank-you for what you do❤
Season 1 Charles In Charge had a better cast *and* sharper writing. The retooling was all to the detriment of the show. They turned it into a lesser attempt at a TV Family sitcom. Imagine WKRP being retooled at year two into something like the failed workplace sitcom The Great Indoors by keeping Andy Travis and Venus Flytrap but changing everything else that made 'KRP so magical.
Truthfully, I always thought the first season of Charles in Charge was the best. Buddy pulled a Chrissy Snow and got dumber as the show went on. That's just lazy writing.
as soon as you said "Ghostbusters" I instantly called that beautiful face.

I agree that it was nice of her. You teach high school? THANK YOU for all you do! 🙂
She also appeared in a couple of episodes of Murder She Wrote, one in which she portrayed an Amish woman.
Oh, PLEASE do a video on how Jennifer and Susan became friends. That sounds fascinating.

That little scar.
I couldn't imagine marrying "Gwendolyn Pierce". GWENDOLYN PIERCE!
MGTOW
Never realized she had such an impressive career! Thanks Dave!
I remember her from Another World, thank you for this update. I loved her on Quantum Leap!!!
Christopher Knight and Jennifer Runyeon were on Another World together.
She had me at “ Charles in Charge”
Greetings from South Carolina
Dave, wonderful presentation; thank you for mentioning her philanthropy!
Glad you enjoyed it!

The original dad was in Animal House
That's right, he played Robert Hoover in Animal House
The Brady Christmas is a favorite of mine. The Powell family were the best on Charles in Charge. Great content.
Thanks!
She starred in Charles in Charge!!!
I remember her from Charles In Charge in the 1980's 😹

AKA Jerry Gillespie I 'd have to say the Pembroke family in Charles in Charge
The best thing I’ve ever seen her in is “The In-Crowd” from 1988. She plays a beautiful but ditsy dancer on an American Bandstand-type afternoon show in the 1960s. It’s on YT if interested. I discovered it one day when I was home with the flu. 😍

@@jdsundstrom I’m having so much fun watching these videos. Talk about memories of the best decades!

She did a great job fitting into the Brady family, missed Susan, but Jennifer did an awesome job!! 😊
Thanks Dave ❤❤❤😊😊😊
Always stood out to me, beautiful lady.

Pembroke!!!
I loved her on Another World 🌎 ❤️ I hadn't thought of her in years. Thanks Dave 😊
Glad you enjoyed it
@jdsundstrom I sure did. I had forgotten she played Cindy Brady too. 👍
I'm 20 years old, so I'm too young to have seen the show when it was coming out, but I just recently discovered "Charles in Charge." I love it! I'm barely watching season 2 right now, so I've gotten about one season with each family.

Another one of those character actresses I liked. The first time I remember seeing her was from Ghostbusters.
Thanks for sharing...and for your support!
Up the creek is one of my favorite movies just watched my DVD the night keep up the good entertaining work Dave
Thanks John!
Wow... GREAT VIDEO!! Jen Runyon had a nice respectable career it seems. 😊
Totally!
And Don’t forget Jennifer as the Character Vicki in the movie The In Crowd.
She was in the 80's movie "Up the creek" which i loved as a kid..such a beauty.
Definitely preferred the Pembroke family. It would be great to see a video or videos on where the actors that played Lila, Douglas, and Jason are these days.

Loved quantum leap the episodes she was in
I have liked her forever. She was in a TV movie titled Blue De Ville that I those was great.
The Pembroke Family wins by a wide margin !! I stopped watching the show when they left !!
I remember her in Ghost busters from 1984. I think I have also seen her in the old QL. Good show! (the new QL isn't too bad). thanks for posting.
I knew the face, but once you put up the Ghostbusters clip ... the 'A Ha!" Moment clicked
Lots of people have that same "Aha" moment. Thanks for all your support, Rob!
This was very nice. I hope she comes across it! 😊

Jennifer Runyon is a gorgeous lady throughout the 1980's decade!!
I only remembered watching Charles in Charge Powell family. I guess I never saw the first season.
Hey, where did Alice get her meat?
From Sam the butcher!

I liked her appearances
And Please do the Quantum Leap episodes
So will Never watch the reboot Without Bakula
I'm torn on who to root for, between Bloodsucka Jones & The Creeping Death.
She was in Falcon and and the snowman.

Up the Creek was a good enjoyable movie
It was for sure. 🙂
