@@HighOnAnimeYT Eva has more or less very distrubing themes and imagery. Including suicide, abuse, adultery, neglect and of course death. It has hardly any "kid friendly" themes.
Evangelion and "its a kids show" made me bust out laughing for real 😂

Overall a piece of advice from a veteran anime watcher and a mecha fan - if you see a giant robot in an anime, it means you probably do not want kids watching the show (unless you want to severely traumatise them). Overall in Japan giant robot shows went into a very different direction then in the west, historically speaking, they were mostly a kids shows at some point but even then, the toll that WWII had on japan was still reflected in them quite often. Because of various reasons they started to go into a very serious topics at one point, mostly war and politics. They tend to also go into real messed up stuff like child soldiers, serious mental problems and all the tragedy war brings to people. So when you see a giant robot think more of something similar to attack on titan (well, attack on titan gets called "flesh mecha" for a reason, as it does in fact have avery similar topics and structure to the mecha shows). Neon Genesis Evangelion is one of the most influential amongst the genre, and it is very dark and depressing, and deffinitely not child safe. I highly recommend checking it out to see for yourselves, because it is a brilliant show and very highly regarded classic ^^

8. Guyver: The Bio-boosted Armor (2005) (bio-mecha-suit)
9. Noein: To Your Other Self
10. The Sacred Blacksmith (one fight has a magic-mecha battle)
11. Soul Eater (some of the battles/opponents are mecha-ish)
