Isn't it just, the client is so keen to keep improving the site, and embracing the "No Mow Summer" that I keep banging on about - it's about choosing a path late March, early April when mowing begins and sticking to that, it really has paid off as the mowing can be kept going whilst not making any insects etc homeless (or worse) when everyone gets the mowers out in June... Best wishes, Joel
Small over crowded and fussy. No charm no design . Manor house 5 acre garden i have built needs to be shown . Then it would not be private to my needs. One day i will show it as art and craft Edwardian paradise .All created from ancient cow pasture by Lord Parr
This is possibly the best garden I have seen! There is such a wonderful array of every possible wildlife habitat, so many different sections to this garden, what a great use of large space, I am so happy the owners of the house/land are so great and made their garden so welcoming to wildlife! Thank you for sharing!
Beautiful garden with wildflowers are very lovely. On these days, it's hard time for me, my mom had a stroke and passed away couple days ago. Watching your videos make me feel better. This video was inspirited me. Thanks Joel for sharing many wonderful videos. Have a good day!
That place is around 5 of my size garden if not more. It’s absolutely massive. I have to say not only is it stunningly beautiful, that is wildlife gardening at its best. 🤩
As lovely as they are the tightly controlled heritage gardens in the UK can’t compare to this incredibly beautiful natural garden. Thank you for sharing it with us.
What an utter dream of a garden. You’re so lucky to work in such a magical place. I’ve not seen such varied planting & habitats in a garden like that before. And you’re right. The wildflower meadow is spectacular. Please pass in my admiration & respect to the owners. They’ve done a magnificent job and should be a Chelsea Gold in its own right!! Enjoy the remainder of your stay!!
What a pleasure it would be opening your curtains to that each morning, absolutely gorgeous. Wonderful mixture of planting and then the icing on the cake the meadow. A dream garden. The little stream you're building will really add a wonderful touch, hearing water trickling, just fabulous Joel. How kind of your customer to let you share their garden with us. Thank you to them and you for bring that to us. Loved it.
What an absolutely inspirational video. I am currently in Cornwall. I visit around this time every year to gaze in amazement at Cornish Hedge's. I am lucky enough to live on the North Downs in Kent where we have our fair share of wildlife but I have seen more flying insects, more varieties of birds and greater abundance of native Spring flowers than I do in Kent, I'm.sure that a lot of it is down to the 38000 miles of wildlife friendly Cornish Hedge's. That was one of the most inspirational I've ever watched. Truly fantastic.
Reading your message makes me smile. I live in Cornwall, and I myself have been looking in absolute wonder at the sight of the beautiful hedgerows bursting with the pure delight of all those stunning flowers⚘️
Thank you @doyoueverstop :) It's a wonderful place for sure and I'm a little envious, but the clients have worked hard for many many years to keep this garden as traditional and wildlife friendly as possible. You're right re Cornwall, I have a few friends there and they seem to be seeing a lot more insect life than us in the south east. I'm hoping it's just due to the bad start (weather wise) to the year and that life will return to our areas too. Have a great weekend - best wishes, Joel
My dad was Cornish, consequently I spent a huge amount of my time as a child holidaying there with Uncles, Aunts and Cousins, I never wanted to return home to London, Cornwall is the only place where I feel truly at home, needless to say I'm a tad envious that you live there. I've researched the hedges quite a bit, how they're constructed and the amount of native plants that grow on them and the wildlife that use them. They are the oldest man-made structure in the world that are still used for the purpose of what they were originally intended.
@@doyoueverstop Lovely message thank you. Maybe one day you will get to come back home to Cornwall to stay. All of that flora and fauna will be waiting to connect with you again:) I do consider myself lucky that my dear mom was born here, this isn't just my birth place, its my spiritual home:)
Morning Joel,it’s officially the first day of Winter here in NZ and what a joy to walk through such a beautiful garden on a beautiful day there..thanks for sharing ❤
Hey Matthew - thank you, glad you enjoyed this :) I'll be thinking of you in warmer climes when we're hunkered down on this side of the world in our winter. This client is so keen to give over as much as possible for wildlife but retain that old-fashioned feel with the veg gardens etc. Will be updating once the stream is finished, but couldn't help but share all this with you guys. Hope you're having a good week. Best wishes, Joel
Finally got to watch this video! WOW! I loved this video from beginning to end - could there be a more perfect garden? Thank you for sharing and to the owner for allowing you to share it with us. Stunning!
Hey Suzanne :) It's an absolute joy to be working here (and very distracting!). It feels like it's been here forever and the epitome of Chocolate Box... More of these to come, including of course smaller but just as effective gardens, and I'll be returning to a lot of client gardens this year and filming updates. Have a wonderful weekend! Best wishes, Joel
I just adore all the moods and vistas created in this garden, with rooms like a house. A lovely mix of cottage garden and gardening for wildlife. Bliss. I only have a small patch but developing a ‘meadow’ 2 meter x 2 meter near to where I sit in the evenings. Thank you and thank the owners.
Just finished watching this and loved every minute of it Joel. It’s so rich with flowers that are just a haven for the wildlife and pollinators. Love the way they created paths through the meadow 😊🌱
Oh my, this has to be the most divine, and most beautiful garden I have ever seen. Its hard to put into words how absolutely magnificent this is. Its the kind of garden to dream of, and imagine yourself in. Just to gaze and connect with nature. I love how there are so many different spaces that gently unfold into the next. It really is an absolute dream. Can you imagine even just spending a few moments within, absolute nectar for your heart and soul. I think the stream will add so much to something that to me, already looks and feels perfect. Thank you so much for this tour, and how lovely of the owners to allow you to show us all:)
WOW WOW WOW Thank you so much for sharing this amazing garden, it was an absolute pleasure to walk a round with you and it certainly in forced your message! So inspirational as always Joel, thank you for sharing. I hope we get to see the stream finished 🤞😁
You're very welcome Anna, this client continues to think of wildlife and over the years has added so many improvements and I'm filming the stream and ponds creation to share with everyone. It's an absolute dream of a garden and I'm very grateful that I get to enjoy them too, if only for a short period, but it's very distracting trying to work with all the wildlife etc! I have to remember these privileged days when I'm knee deep in mud and water during the winters ;) Hope you have a great weekend, best wishes - Joel
Hi Joel I enjoyed this video at 5.30am this morning and am now enjoying it once again this evening,it’s absolutely beautiful,.I’m looking forward to the follow up video of the completed stream…your natural and professional presentation complements this garden beautifully as in all of your videos… you need to look at hosting your own television show/series you are a natural👍.. here in NZ we lack any form of televised garden/ wildlife shows so rely on overseas contributions I’m sure one from you would be very welcome by many😃thanks for taking the time to reply to my former comment Joel, cheers Matt
Thank you show much for showing us this beautiful garden. I started thinking I’d just watch a few minutes but your commentary is so interesting and informative and the garden so delightful that I watched every minute. The meadow with the cut paths is both stunning and inspiring 😊
Wow, thank you Stuart, so very much. Reading your kind words and encouragement has certainly made a difficult Monday much easier. I'm really grateful and so glad that you enjoyed this. Very best wishes, Joel
Absolutely loved this tour, what a beautiful garden. It’s definitely given me a few ideas for my garden. The blue flowers of the Brunneras looked gorgeous. I would really like to see more content like this.
So glad you enjoyed this Verity - this year I already have all the previous gardens/ponds that I've created from last year and before and I'll be revisiting these clients when I'm in the area - it's real difficult to stay and film client works as I'm usually on to the next one in a different part of the country, not allowing me to do updates - but this year they're all mapped on the logistics planner so I am reminded to go back :) Lots more to come - thanks ever so much for the support and encouragement, Joel
What an amazing place! This is a dream garden!Would love to see a short on the end result of the stream you are making. It is looking fantastic already!
Rather breathtaking, and the garden has been left by each owner in turn and improved - not sure what else you could do in this apart from sit and enjoy... :)
Wow if I had gardens at that space .I would never leave home I would just frolic all day long in my gardens 😊 I do that not when not at work. Can wait to see the final result of the stream 💚😌
Oh my word, an hr long cottage garden tour, let me get my iced tea first. What a stunning property, loved seeing every min. And why isn't there a little path to that swing, one of the best seats in the garden. Look forward to seeing your project when finished too. I'm thinking, when you were a kid, your mom had to check your pockets before throwing them in the washer. I happen to have a tree frog singing at my door right now 😊
Haha! It just had to be an hour, it could have been even longer but I hope it relayed what a wonderful haven this whole garden is, both for wildlife and humans. That swing is almost aching to be used huh? I'm filming the pond and stream creation so there will definitely be a video on it :) Yep, I still get my pockets checked... but mainly for grit and sand now before clothes go in the washing machine! Oh, and I saw your email come in, I'll get to it asap Wende - enjoy the weekend, best wishes - Joel
@@WildYourGardenWithJoelAshton Look forward to the finished pond & stream. I know your super busy, no rush on my email. You guys have a wonderful weekend too.
Amazing garding, just fabolous! Imagine coming home to this.. pure relaxation. Formal, kitchen, wildlifegarden.. all in one. Thanks for the tour Joel! ❤
You're very welcome Edwin, so glad you enjoyed this one - many more to come, maybe not on this scale but just as vital. I'll be going back to previous client works and filming the gardens one and two years on so I can bring you guys the complete "before and after" videos of ponds, gardens, reserves etc. Thanks for the encouragement and support - best wishes, Joel
Glad you enjoyed this, it's certainly a beautiful garden, great to see you on the channel, there's a myriad of helpful videos if you go the "video" section on the home page - hope this helps, and thanks for the support, it's appreciated :) Best wishes, Joel
It's beautiful isn't it, and so many elements can be taken and implemented in our own gardens, however small that space may be :) Hope you are keeping well, and that you have a great weekend - best wishes, Joel
Fabulous tour and I for one would love it if you did more of these,I have a very similar garden to this in Lincolnshire but on a lot smaller scale, I'm really passionate on doing my best to look after our wildlife so thankyou Joel I thoroughly enjoyed it .Roz Perkins
Excellent filming and commentary :) Thanks so much for identifying the mystery plants in my garden - evening primrose. Also that tufted vetch I wasn't too sure about. Could it be a different one like Bush Vetch? Amzing video thanks for sharing your incredible knowledge. Also kudos to this client what a piece of work. They can have their Chelsea gardens.
Hi Katherine, I'm lucky to be working there and enjoying everything it has to offer, just wish there was more needed so I could stay longer ;) It's definitely a dream setting though and I will be uploading the film of the pond and stream construction - best wishes, Joel
Hi Joel Thank you for your tour. I’m on a estate in the foothills of Snowdonia where the small gardens here are given over to deck concrete turf and plastic lawns but not mine and it’s buzzing X
Hi Jenifer - so glad you enjoyed this. It's very inspirational and I'm fully aware we don't all have this size of garden by any means, but there are so many elements that we can all apply to our own spaces and seeing the change towards wildlife gardening over the years does give me hope in that so many more smaller habitats can be created in many more spaces and giving the same benefit as this one garden. I know I'm not alone in disliking "contemporary" gardens, we all know contemporary means "now" and when these fashions change it's what happens to all the turf and plastic that is worrying. Keep up the good work in your own garden, it sounds like you are being rewarded already :) Best wishes, Joel x
Hi Joel. What a wonderful garden. I would love mine to look like that. I'm getting there but there is a long way to go with the amount of unwanted weeds that smother everything else. The bees love alkanet but it seeds everywhere and takes over. On the plus side there is lots of wildlife. The birds get through so much food from the feeders and the squirrels have their share. The laburnum tree is simply humming with bees at the moment. Trying to get a wildflower meadow established at the tennis club is proving to be difficult. No rain and rabbits that dig up anything I plant! I shall persevere.
What an amazing garden! Thanks for sharing! Right now on my balcony in my "meadow pots", red campion, meadow saxifrage and wild pansies are blooming. They look so pretty together. And the ox-eye daisies have buds. But the most popular plant on my balcony right now is definitely the nepeta in the other pots!
Absolutely love your channel! My hubby and I are from the US and we are in our 70's and we love gardening! You have given us some extremely informative informatiion! Wish you were here in the US.....would love to have you for 1 day!!! Best of wishes to you and your channel!!! Much success!!!
Hi there! Thank you SO much, I really appreciate the encouragement and support. I'm destined to come to the US, just trying to fit everything in. But seriously, if you need any help/advice in the meantime PLEASE feel free to drop me a line at enquiries@hazelwoodlandscapes.com and we can keep in touch also. Your comment has been a wonderful end to a particularly hard day, and I'm very grateful. Do drop me a line, very best wishes to you both - Joel
Hey Joel! Just wow! Absolutely stunning. I have something similar but on a much, much smaller scale this garden is literally my idea of heaven! If we can just take a few ideas or even buy a few of these plants ( from your shop of course) then what a difference it will make to wildlife! I'm with you about the Chelsea flower show. Yes they are making progress with including wild life gardens and plants but their idea of a perfect plant is far different from mine. Give me buttercups and flowering nettles any day of the week and not the flowers that are tweeked and preened within inches of their lives! The lambs ear leaves make good plasters as they are naturally anti septic so if you've had a splinter or been haphazard with the pruning shears wrap one around your finger instead of reaching for a plastic plaster! Great video, really loved this tour, hats off to your client who shares the garden with all the creatures that no doubt visit and live there. Best wishes.
I loved reading this! My idea of heaven too, going to be bringing you guys a lot more of these and the "before and afters" of the gardens worked on last year and in previous years, all mapped on the logistics planner now so when I'm back in those areas I can do updates and full videos of the progress etc. Totally agree re Chelsea, I must admit I've not had much time to even look at the show gardens via the internet etc but I hear it was rather token with brambles and weeds dotted about and I can't help but think that it may put off some "traditional" gardeners, when we know that wild doesn't mean messy, it's about creating habitats, habitats that are beautiful in their own right :) I didn't know that about lambs ear - I won't forget that now! Hope you are doing well, oh and could you email me at enquiries@hazelwoodlandscapes.com, different email address but want to ensure we meet up when I'm next in your area - it's been way too long! Best wishes - Joel
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful landscape and for your knowledge, you helped me identify sea buckthorn, sorted and salad Burnett that I have in my garden but didn't know what it was! Love the tours and the plant descriptions and the life they support. Would love to see more please. I think people can feel overwhelmed at the thought of not mowing so seeing how beautiful it can look helps people be more confident so well done for showcasing this. Perhaps the hashtag could be lowmowsummer so people know they can be doing something with their mower :) Do you have any advice too for what to do to care for these meadows and habitats in the autumn? I use a scythe on mine but never really sure when is the best time and do I leave the clippings? Love your channel thank you
Hello there :) You're very welcome. So glad that the IDs helped. I'm not a general expert on plants but I do know native wildflowers, having been immersed in these areas for nearly 20 years - viewers helping with those I'm not sure of helps to make this wonderful community we have here :) I like #lowmowsummer but what I'm trying to encourage is that at the end of March/beginning of April when weather allows mowing to start, is for people to pick a path or paths and keep those mown whilst leaving the longer areas, and this client's garden demonstrates this perfectly - I'm well aware that not all of us have this expanse of lawn to caretake but even a path around the edge, next to borders to allow access or even just one through the middle gives the message that it's intentional :) It's great using a scythe and I admire you for this - I did do this video last year, forgive me if you've seen it but this may help: ua-cam.com/video/uqkrK_vMbco/v-deo.html Best wishes, and have a great weekend - Joel
Hi Joel, the purpleleafed Lunaria annua name is „Chedglow“. It’s growing in my allotment garden here in Berlin. I got seeds once from a britisch friend who lives in Berlin. Then you noticed the perennial form of Lunaria rediviva, but weren‘t sure what it is. It’s a very good perennial for shady garden parts. The Geranium with the „waxy leafs“ is Geranium nodosum.
Oooooh, so glad I came across this tour! I've been looking for inspiration for the forever garden we'll be buying later this year. I want a LOT of trees and coppice and have been thinking of planting for around them. I think I may just plant and mulch around the trees and leave whatever lawn is there to grow wild for a few years and slowly build species. Makes sense and it's so beautiful and year round. The paths just invite you to enjoy the wildflowers and little mowed areas.
So glad this was helpful David, it really is a beautiful garden. If you're in the UK and want any help or advice re plants etc then do drop me a line at enquiries@wildyourgarden.com and if you purchase from us we're happy to provide a personal service and help. Very best wishes, Joel
@@WildYourGardenWithJoelAshton thanks Joel. Watching through your videos and am taking a lot of inspiration away, you're incredibly knowledgeable :) Thank you!
I have enjoyed the tour. The idea of a pond with leaf protection is my big takeaway from this video. I am in the process of enlarging wildlife habitat on my small lot in SW Washington, USA, Vancouver. Large Oregon White Oaks dominate not only my lot but the neighborhood. Leaves are a huge issue here. With a good cover and the right timing, I could have a small pond. For now it is small containers with stones which are working quite well for drinking and bathing for the birds. Thank you so much for this video and for your strong message.
It certainly is :) The clients have lived here for many years so I have no doubt that house prices weren't as extortionate then as they are now ;) Glad you enjoyed this tour - best wishes, and have a great weekend - Joel
Haha :) Yep, Bourne area. It's a wonderful garden, lots more to show you guys and lots of updates this year on gardens and ponds created last year - going to do full "before and after" videos, every garden previously worked on is now mapped and I'll be going back when I'm in those areas and doing updates. Best wishes, Joel
Joel! The white flowering plant you wondered about (around 11:10) is Lunaria rediviva, perennial honesty! It’s one i’ve been wanting to get my hands on. fantastic video as usual, I could spend days in that beautiful garden!
You're very welcome LesleyAnn, I'm so glad it has helped inspire you. Always here if you need any advice, you can drop me a line at enquiries@hazelwoodlandscapes.com - best wishes, and thank you for the encouragement - Joel
So pleased to find somebody from UK,and we used to live in Derbyshire, we are noe in South West Scotland. I am researching all i can about ground cover / living mulch and also what to plant to keep birds fed in the winter,ie berries, seed etc Nice to meet you Joel 👋🏻
@Joel Ashton Shepherd’s purse is called “Herderstasje” in Dutch. It means Shepherd’s Purse, and the Germans and the French have similar names for that plant. I’ve seen pictures of such purses (which were hundreds of years old) and their shape is sometimes quite similar to those seedpods. Never found out why they were shaped that way, though.
Fabulous and inspirational. I have a fairly large garden in south East Kent, but neither time nor money to do much with it - but I do leave a lot of the grass unmown, and leave nature to do its own thing throughout most of it. Thank you so much for the tour, and I hope we can see progress here in future!
I'm so glad you saw this Linda - welcome to the channel! Lots more of these garden tours to come, I filmed a fair few last year and have yet to edit and upload, but not long now. Thanks for your kind words and support, much appreciated. Very best wishes - Joel
You're very welcome! It really is a dream garden, I've visited a few more, and they will be uploaded and shared soon, just finding time to edit these epic ones! Thanks so much for your support and encouragement, it's appreciated - best wishes, Joel
You're so welcome! Glad you enjoyed this - thanks so much for your encouragement and support, lots more of these garden visits and tours to come! Best wishes, Joel
I got rid of my lawns and just left a tiny path of lawn in my back garden and now have converted a side garden into plants and the same with my front garden which used to be lawn and gravel and a dirt are side garden converted to.
Hey, thanks so much for this and all the support and encouragement you have shown me - I am very grateful for your generosity, it really does help. Best wishes, Joel
Thank you so much for this wonderful tour. I really got some more ideas for my own natural garden. My husband always wants me to get someone to mow the lawn/gras. But I make these paths too and I decide while mowing, where about I want them... I just found your videos today and it's a pleasure watching them. All the best from Germany.
I like to add purple loosestrife in a damp but sunny patch as it is about the last flowering plant of the year, and gorgeous with it, and a native so great for wild, ife
Stunning. Going to South Derbyshire this end of May. The Mayflower is the best part of Bearded Theory Festival. I would love to see that red one and plant a couple.❤
so so lovely to see. I have a tiny patch of garden but leave it to meadow... it just makes my heart sing.. When I walk up my garden path there are bees and all sorts just buzzing by getting on with their business. I live in a housing association bungalow and they asked me to cut the grass but I explained and it was ok... I think I will make a sign this year!
Hi Linda, I'm really glad you did too! Thanks ever so much for the encouragement and support, I have a few other detailed garden visits that I'm yet to upload, but will do so asap. i also installed a stream in this garden so will try to upload that too - very best wishes - Joel
I wish it was my garden! I'm lucky enough to be working in it and improving it even more, but it truly is a dream garden and I just had to share it all with everyone :) Glad you enjoyed it, here's wishing we both get a suitable piece of land to enjoy one day soon. Have a good weekend, best wishes - Joel
Hi Joel, I just watched this video again it's so beautiful mate. You mentioned there's Birds foot trefoil in the meadow well I got 2 9cm pots of greater bft off wild your garden & have they spread! I'm lucky enough to have a red tailed bumble bee nest a few yards away & they & other bees have been enjoying them for months. I know you always recommend this plant so I'm gonna pass the message on...get it folks, it's not just a bee magnet but it's a very attractive plant & flower. I've got blue & pink scabious growing amongst it which looks really great. Thanks for this tour Joel I knew I'd watch it again some day, the meadow is stunning!
Amazing joel thanks so much for sharing. Your right about toad tadpoles a lot of wildlife leave them because they contain toxins so smooth newts and palmates don’t eat them as I’ve seen them die unfortunately after. However as our great crested newts are larger they seem to be ok when they eat them so unfortunately our great crested newts will eat them 🐸💚🐸
Thank you for this, so much - if there's anyone I can rely on to educate me further on amphibians it's you, I really do appreciate it. You help make this community we have here and I'm very grateful :) Best wishes, Joel
@@WildYourGardenWithJoelAshton always happy to help joel and help the community out it’s how we all can learn off each other thanks again for your amazing content you have learned us so much too 🐸💚🐸
Good afternoon from Colorado. My little wildlife plan will be quite different but hopefully beneficial. I have a small area for containers where I could out some native plants.
absolutely gorgeous garden. Thanks for making my day. Having a real hard time not being able to get out in the garden now that I have a cast on my right arm for the next six weeks. Will any of the seeds that you have in the shop be able to grow in the states, I am in St. Louis Missouri zone 6. Thanks for helping me get through this hard time.
Hi Martha - so sorry you're out of action at the moment, but glad this helped distract you for a while. I am not sure we are able to send seeds abroad, but feel free to send me an email to enquiries@hazelwoodlandscapes.com and I'll see how we can help, and mainly ensure that what we recommend are native to you and able to grow in your area of course. I really really want to get to the US asap so that I can make videos for our American friends and encourage more people to think like you :) Have a wonderful weekend - best wishes, Joel
Joel it's a haven, especially the last wildflower meadow part! I have a paved tiny back garden but my L-shaped, equally small front garden is grassed and I've left two small areas unmown. Looking occasionally at what's growing, it's mainly dandelions, daisies and a bit of clover but what's your opinion of this and have I done the wrong thing? Outside the front gate is a council-owned patch of grass which has quite a lot of "fox and cubs" growing which I like the bright orange colour of so I uprooted a tiny bit and planted it and it's now budding in my wild patch. Will it take over - does it spread a lot? Would like your opinion, Joel!
Woooow. Loooovely garden!!! Thank you for taking the time to show us. You have such a kind and respectful voice. I would absolutely love having a meadow like this. My dad is from the era who needs lawn with stripes....so imagine the bridge between us. But.....we have mostly kikuyu grass in our lawn. It grows quick and then flops over. If you know how it behaves, please give us some pointers on establishing a meadow around kikuyu?
I love your videos so inspiring i have lots of butterflies and nectar plants and host plants i released over a hundred butterflies this year i live in ft Lauderdale Florida.
A wonderful watch and listen Joel from start to finish. You were like the proverbial pig in..... 😁. As you said...absolutely gorgeous. A collective tapestry of natural delights with practicality also. So, so many highlights. That wild flower meadow 55:10 ❤️❤️❤️. Regarding #NoMowSummer.... yes mown interconnecting paths are the answer leaving other areas unmown and undisturbed. Yes, I'm always thinking about the potential, what could be achieved, if we all did something, no matter how small. Thank you very much Joel for sharing this piece of Derbyshire paradise with us all. Inspirational as always. Paul 🙏😊👍❤️ #natureistheantidote
I had no idea you worked up here in Derbyshire. The space I've got up in Bonsall is a little smaller than this fabulousness, but due to storm damage we've had to take down a pair of gigantic non-native conifers on our little hillside garden - we're puzzling out what trees would make good replacements to support wildlife around here and I might need to get in touch for a little consultation.
Hi there! You lucky person, living in Derbyshire :) Two client jobs on at the moment, but I work all over the country, literally from Cornwall to Scotland and as far east and west as you can get :) Always feel free to drop me a no obligation email at enquiries@hazelwoodlandscapes.com and we can speak further when you're ready. love when he says at 8:28 we got some lemon balms there, in this bed it looks like we got some beans, that bed we got rose with some geraniums, NOT TOO SURE ABOUT THAT BED NICE LITTLE STRUCTURE IN THE MIDDLE. It just a death bed, Soooo English. 🤣😂
You're very welcome Rebecca, more of these to come, including an old abandoned house that has been left as it was, but the new owner has improved and maintained the garden so that no wildlife has been harmed or had to move on. A very generous person and I'll be bringing that film shortly when I go back and see it in late spring/early summer when it is at it's best. Best wishes, Joel
Can’t find the follow up re the stream completed… I absolutely love the garden… my garden is pretty wild too but I’ve got some plant ideas and a couple of changes to make from this VT… 🎉😊❤
Mine too Kate - these gardens, particularly with the house of course, always remind me of puzzles my grandmother used to have, always bucolic settings... cottages with foxgloves, the winding path and someone feeding chickens :) Best wishes, Joel
Thats got to be as close to perfection as you can get,
Isn't it just, the client is so keen to keep improving the site, and embracing the "No Mow Summer" that I keep banging on about - it's about choosing a path late March, early April when mowing begins and sticking to that, it really has paid off as the mowing can be kept going whilst not making any insects etc homeless (or worse) when everyone gets the mowers out in June... Best wishes, Joel

Hey Miche, you lucky person, living where you do :)
Wow what a garden. Watched and loved every minute. Could sit there all day everyday.
Me too! It's rather difficult concentrating on work when there's so much wildlife and so many brilliant distractions :) Best wishes, Joel
Very inspired, a big thank you to your client for letting us look at their most beautiful garden.
More than a little envious of this garden, especially the meadow, so beautiful 😍
Hi Joel
What a fantastic garden the owes must be very proud what they have achieved & a great video worth watching every minute of it 👍
WOW WOW WOW
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing garden, it was an absolute pleasure to walk a round with you and it certainly in forced your message!
What an absolutely lovely garden. I love the little entryways too like at 45:11 from one section to the next. -Cara 😀
Oh that's absolute heaven. 🐌🦋🐛🌻🌺🥀🐝🪲
Rather breathtaking, and the garden has been left by each owner in turn and improved - not sure what else you could do in this apart from sit and enjoy... :)
What an incredible garden, so much diversity and I just love the Lime and Ash trees 🦔🐝
Wow if I had gardens at that space .I would never leave home I would just frolic all day long in my gardens 😊 I do that not when not at work. Can wait to see the final result of the stream 💚😌
This is my ideal of a garden, especially the meadow. Thank you so much for showing it to us!

Look forward to the finished pond & stream.

Spectacular! What a soothing, dream-like wonderland. Thank you for the tour. Very inspiring for my little plot... many possibiluties.
Glad you enjoyed this, it's certainly a beautiful garden, great to see you on the channel, there's a myriad of helpful videos if you go the "video" section on the home page - hope this helps, and thanks for the support, it's appreciated :) Best wishes, Joel
Such a stunning garden! The informality is inspiring.
It's beautiful isn't it, and so many elements can be taken and implemented in our own gardens, however small that space may be :) Hope you are keeping well, and that you have a great weekend - best wishes, Joel
Thanks
Stunning, so much for widlife. The problem is I would never leave it! 😊
Hi Katherine, I'm lucky to be working there and enjoying everything it has to offer, just wish there was more needed so I could stay longer ;) It's definitely a dream setting though and I will be uploading the film of the pond and stream construction - best wishes, Joel
@Wild Your Garden with Joel Ashton haha yes I bet! Looking forward to more videos thanks 😊
Magnificent!! Love the flowers you can get in a meadow. Embrace the bugs 🐛
@@WildYourGardenWithJoelAshton Will do Joel and will look forward to seeing more gardens like this one.
I'm not a general expert on plants but I do know native wildflowers, having been immersed in these areas for nearly 20 years - viewers helping with those I'm not sure of helps to make this wonderful community we have here :) I like #lowmowsummer but what I'm trying to encourage is that at the end of March/beginning of April when weather allows mowing to start, is for people to pick a path or paths and keep those mown whilst leaving the longer areas, and this client's garden demonstrates this perfectly - I'm well aware that not all of us have this expanse of lawn to caretake but even a path around the edge, next to borders to allow access or even just one through the middle gives the message that it's intentional :) It's great using a scythe and I admire you for this - I did do this video last year, forgive me if you've seen it but this may help:

Wow, this garden and house is huge and beautiful. They must be very rich! Very nice. 🙂❤
It certainly is :) The clients have lived here for many years so I have no doubt that house prices weren't as extortionate then as they are now ;) Glad you enjoyed this tour - best wishes, and have a great weekend - Joel
What an amazing garden, thanks for sharing. The plant next to the gunnera looked like a rodgersia. Greetings from West Wales
This is pure perfection, it has everything, just stunning. Good to hear that you are also from Lincolnshire, thought I recognised the faint dialect.😊

Nice to meet you Joel 👋🏻
❤ this video. So relaxing & so beautiful 😍. Thanks Joel. Been away for a few days so just finished watching this.
Wonderful tour. Saw some that also grow in North Carolina. I'm inspired now to create a little meadow with a winding mowed pathway through it.
Beautiful garden. And the heart in the window just broke my heart 💙💛
Fabulous and inspirational. I have a fairly large garden in south East Kent, but neither time nor money to do much with it - but I do leave a lot of the grass unmown, and leave nature to do its own thing throughout most of it. Thank you so much for the tour, and I hope we can see progress here in future!
Love this lush green garden and nature look ! subscribed!

Birds foot trefoil in the meadow well I got 2 9cm pots of greater bft off wild your garden & have they spread!

I want to live here. Totally Gorgeous. It’s a Dream.
I think that next to Gunnera is Rodgersia, podophylla and pinnata.
Would like your opinion, Joel!
one lovely garden, thank you
It really is Mairead, glad you enjoyed this tour - lots of other garden tours to come :) Best wishes, Joel
@@WildYourGardenWithJoelAshton I used to open my own garden, so i know the hard work involed !
Paul 🙏😊👍❤️

ah gorgeous, makes me homesick for Derbyshire! I come from New Mills near Hayfield in the High Peak.
I had no idea you worked up here in Derbyshire. The space I've got up in Bonsall is a little smaller than this fabulousness, but due to storm damage we've had to take down a pair of gigantic non-native conifers on our little hillside garden - we're puzzling out what trees would make good replacements to support wildlife around here and I might need to get in touch for a little consultation.

love when he says at 8:28 we got some lemon balms there, in this bed it looks like we got some beans, that bed we got rose with some geraniums, NOT TOO SURE ABOUT THAT BED NICE LITTLE STRUCTURE IN THE MIDDLE. It just a death bed, Soooo English. 🤣😂
Wonderful , thankyou .

Mine too Kate - these gardens, particularly with the house of course, always remind me of puzzles my grandmother used to have, always bucolic settings... cottages with foxgloves, the winding path and someone feeding chickens :) Best wishes, Joel
