That is a great looking setup. Thanks for answering my question with a video already ready! My shelving isn't open on the back so will have to figure it out. Also, freez dried would be much lighter.
@@HomesteadEngineering bless your heart...my husband has zero mechanical or building skills. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I try my best when I do build something. Often it is a little off and getting things square is about a chore and a half. I keep building and doing things in hope I get better. 😛
Cheryl, I am glad you commented. I think a lot of folks (not necessarily you) have a spare bedroom that rarely gets used. Think about converting it to a large pantry. Is it really worth setting aside an entire room for that twice a year visit from cousin Eddy? Thanks!
@@HomesteadEngineering I am trying with my small bedroom. I have a freeze dryer in there so its quite warm but I have started binning bagged food and jars, not sure how to fit shelves like yours but maybe some metal shelves might do. I am just gonna keep on trying, not giving up. Thank you for responding and your great videos.
Good video. I've just got done organizing and doing an inventory of my canned goods, freeze dry foods, and non food items, this morning. It's a cheaper version of this one. It's a great feeling to be at a point where I won't have to go shopping for a year or only buy items on sale price. This week it's sweet potatoes 25 cents/lb, potatoes 5 lb / 99 cents, turkey 33 - 49 cents lb Last week zucchini 69 cents, raspberries $1 pkg, Angus ground beef $2.99/lb. Bananas 39 cents /lb. Always keeping my eyes open for next bargain
Question for you This year I started canning and been canning alot of meat when I get it on sale. I usually add the canned meat to rice or pasta. Besides those two listed, how do you use your canned meat?
I find canned beef to taste like or have the texture of taco meat so I use it for that kind of stuff. I also use it for spaghettis and for sloppy joes. Its also great for chili.
As allways great content. Greetings from Poland🇵🇱.
Thank you and thanks for stopping by.
That is so beautiful! Great for your family that you can have all your jars stored so well!
Thanks!

QUESTION..What is the white stuff, that separates the jars??
Gayle, It's called "corner bead" and you can find it at Lowes or the Depot in the isle with sheetrock and drywall.
what size jars are you using?
I have about 900 quart jars and 100 1/2 gallon jars. I also have a few smaller pint jars and 1/2 pint but not a lot. Thanks!
