I love when he admits he made a mistake and explains what that was. That just doesn't happen these days. Not even with the current horse whisperers. That gives me more respect when a trainer can admit a mistake and explain it.
@@rosegarden9575 This is about the time Ray Hunt met Tom Dorrance ,who had been using similar methods, since childhood and Tom was no Spring chicken then..
Kool stuff. Nice looking horse. Wonder what breed it was. What was he a doctor of? How many doctors would put themselves in that predicament? He knows his stuff for sure. I'll bet all horses wouldn't put up with that though. Good minded animal. I have just one problem with his technique though, I'm white and I can't jump.

Jeffries method, employs actual restraint devices such as what he called a squeeze or crush where the others allow the horse to move away freely and convince them that staying with the human, is the proper response. Tom Dorrance always said, never take away the horses ability of self preservation, but convince them, that to be with the human is the good place to be and develop true unity.
@@TightwadTodd ya the backing stall was close containment though not a squeeze according to my long dead contact...btw i was at dr linfoots' place a number of times as a p town kid..good man

Bill was kind to kids…learned from the past, built on, and ushered in the “ new “ way for us.. thank you sir, RIP.
Liked it. Very respectful of the horse.
This man was very kind compared to standards in breaking horses in his time. Now we even have better ,more humane methods
Few remember him now...but his spirit continues. Thanks for posting this. Watch his every move. Wish there was more.
Dr Linfoot vetted some racehorses I was taking care of
1975 in Pleasanton. He helped me in polo. Knew his boy, Corky at el dorado polo club.
That was incredible. I recognize a lot of his philosophy in many modern trainers. Love the Dorrance brothers, Ray Hunt, etc.
A lot of knowledge right there!! Very educational! Thank you!
thank you 'good ole boys'....have a 'great ade'!
Not heard of him til now. Amazing man, wonder when this film was made?
Circa 1970

WOW 🤩
Don't mistake desensitized, to trained. It's a show.
JEFFERIES AUSSE
Jeffries used Restraints which goes against the principles of "Natural Horsemanship".. A term never used by any of the real hands.
What the hell do you think a bridle is ?

Thank goodness WE have evolved further than this also.
Horse whisperer----that's a joke. No concept of pressure and release.
Sorry this guy doesn’t have a clue. Go watch Tom Dorrance & Ray Hunt.
