I added this to the description but I’m pinning a comment as well. Ive gotten a lot of comments about why I chose the image to be an underwear/reference masturbation so I thought I’d explain! I chose to make it that way to reference NEET culture as a whole. A part of NEET living surrounds the “shut in” lifestyle so many people who are trapped in that habitual routine often have trouble finding work, money, and/or love. Masturbation ends up being their way of dealing with the stress and depression that surrounds that life. That and of course lacking in actual physical intimacy with someone else. Thus, it’s a literal and metaphorical meaning in regards to the NEET life which is what the song discusses! Additionally, it’s to reference the original PV as it used art depicting Miku in her underwear (By no means do I condone sexualization of Miku as the character due to this however)

I’m happy someone took the time to look at the QR codes 😭 I originally was going to do all articles and websites but felt like I wanted to encapsulate the photos Maretu did in Toutetsu which is why the latter half is just that! I did quite a bit of research nonetheless and the QR codes are probably what took me the most time The steam game I actually stumbled on when I was making the QR code for the anime link (an anime I watched before so I wanted to make reference to it) and it felt it fit perfectly with what I was trying to convey!

It’s an older song of his so it’s not on iTunes! He deleted most of his older work off NicoNico which is the only place where he housed these songs. Ofc reuploads of it exist but there are a handful of his songs that are lost media now due to it Thank you also! 💕

when it was just the shape itself I thought it wasn’t “MARETU” enough, but when it became the jumble of text??? Damn. The text in MARETU’s MVs always interested me. Take the one in my personal favorite song, Brain Revolution Girl, for example. There are English words and phrases within the mass of letters, but they seem more like gibberish to me, and because there are SO MANY LETTERS, I’ve never bothered to Google Translate it or anything, like to see if it has a meaning or if it’s just for aesthetic. I assume not, as no one ever seems to talk about it. Or maybe it’s just such a pain to translate due to the various sizes and rotations of the letters. And even IF it can be translated, how would you show the translation? You can’t just put the English words and phrases in the places where the original words went.
The string of text always seems intentional IMO, you can see in recent songs like Aishiteitanoni that the text directly relates to what the song is talking about which is what I did here and for my older PV for Saishuubi/Last Day! I feel like the best way to translate it would be either to explain it one by one or make a list of it because some words have long meanings so it’s hard to fit it into a single image. For example, I added アニメ in here which is anime in English but there may not be enough space in it to fit the whole thing so how do you disperse it accordingly into one image? It is very interesting stuff!
I feel like this is in every fanmade maretu pmv but what fonts did you use? I kinda want to try to make a tehamint vid with the modern style and I can’t think of a good way to figure it out or what other fonts look right
Nah it’s good, it took a while for me to figure it out myself! I use a font called SoukouMincho for the subtitles (tho Genyomin works too) and 寒蝉端黑体Heavy for the image. The image font is just the best one I can find on IbisPaintX tho so I know there’s a better one out there, I just haven’t found it yet 🤔
Commented upon the other video too but since I won’t be making that video now, I can explain a basic process. The white part I usually go for a “grunge” style/aesthetic which is where the whole white cracked background comes from. The black overlays create what’s called a vignette style where the corners of an image are darkened. So, I usually spend time looking for a good “grunge” background and “vignette” overlay After that, I add an excess details like the liquid stains on the side of this image and then add the tile overlay onto the bottom. After all that, then I make the actual still image that goes in the middle 💕
It’s mainly that but this song can be interpreted in sexual ways on certain lines as well! The warning was present on both vocadb and Vocaloid lyrics wiki which is why I added it as well

when it was just the shape itself I thought it wasn’t “MARETU” enough, but when it became the jumble of text??? Damn. The text in MARETU’s MVs always interested me. Take the one in my personal favorite song, Brain Revolution Girl, for example. There are English words and phrases within the mass of letters, but they seem more like gibberish to me, and because there are SO MANY LETTERS, I’ve never bothered to Google Translate it or anything, like to see if it has a meaning or if it’s just for aesthetic. I assume not, as no one ever seems to talk about it. Or maybe it’s just such a pain to translate due to the various sizes and rotations of the letters. And even IF it can be translated, how would you show the translation? You can’t just put the English words and phrases in the places where the original words went.
The string of text always seems intentional IMO, you can see in recent songs like Aishiteitanoni that the text directly relates to what the song is talking about which is what I did here and for my older PV for Saishuubi/Last Day! I feel like the best way to translate it would be either to explain it one by one or make a list of it because some words have long meanings so it’s hard to fit it into a single image. For example, I added アニメ in here which is anime in English but there may not be enough space in it to fit the whole thing so how do you disperse it accordingly into one image? It is very interesting stuff!

Nah it’s good, it took a while for me to figure it out myself!
I use a font called SoukouMincho for the subtitles (tho Genyomin works too) and 寒蝉端黑体Heavy for the image. The image font is just the best one I can find on IbisPaintX tho so I know there’s a better one out there, I just haven’t found it yet 🤔
question, how do you make the backgrounds? I wanted to make a cover of 渇き(Thirst) but i don’t know how to make the backgrounds😭
Commented upon the other video too but since I won’t be making that video now, I can explain a basic process.
The white part I usually go for a “grunge” style/aesthetic which is where the whole white cracked background comes from. The black overlays create what’s called a vignette style where the corners of an image are darkened. So, I usually spend time looking for a good “grunge” background and “vignette” overlay
After that, I add an excess details like the liquid stains on the side of this image and then add the tile overlay onto the bottom. After all that, then I make the actual still image that goes in the middle 💕

Why did you choose Maretu's underwear
Well it’s not “his underwear” per se but the reason I chose to make that for the still image was to reference NEET culture as a whole. A part of the lifestyle surrounds around the “shut in” lifestyle so many people who are trapped in that habitual routine often have trouble finding work, money, and/or love. Masturbation ends up being their way of dealing with the stress and depression that surrounds that life. That and of course lacking in actual physical intimacy with someone else. Thus, it’s a literal and metaphorical meaning in regards to the NEET life which is what the song discusses! Not just that but it’s also a reference to the original PV (which had art of Miku laying down with her underwear exposed)
