Answer: 1. I would not say that it was a waste of money, you got the worlds tallest statue after all, 3000 crore rupees were not burnt into ashes as been projected . Indeed I think that it was unnecessary, there could have been a lot of things that could have done from that big amount(2 iit’s, 5 iim’s, 6 isro’s Mars mission) Now there are a lot of people saying that the tax payers money has gone into a mere statute that is not at all acceptable and has been cursing the government. You know what is not acceptable, tax payers money going into the pockets of politicians. I'm happy to see that these 3000 crore rupees came out as the world tallest statue not as any other scam such as 2G, coal gate, or commonwealth. There are also some comparisons done between the statue of unity and the spring temple Buddha, about there height and cost of construction. Statue of unity is just 1.4 times higher then the spring temple but costs 4 times the latter, so these people try to indicate that the money is being misused and rather then being put on the statue is in the bank accounts of the government officials. Now, these highlighted projects like the tallest statue of the world are very prominent and catchy, not only the Indian media but the world media has an eye on these, and no government would dare to misuse the money put on it , as it will be easily highlighted, due to which I think that these arguments are fictious and lacks any Base. 3000 crore rupees is a big amount and could have been put on many other beneficial projects that could have generated more revenue or more employment opportunities rather than a statue. Not only this but the building of the statue has paved a path for a new statue politics and has encouraged other governments to build such structures in near future. I would still say that it was not a waste of money but an unnecessary expenditure which should have been avoided and should be avoided in future.
Answer 2. There were several reasons for which Panipat was the epicentre for so many battles Firstly, Panipat’s strategic location and extensive geographical features made it a battle prone zone. Invaders of those times including Babur came to invade India from Central Asia and they mostly came by land route and Panipat was the gateway through which they had to come. So naturally if you come by land from Central Asia you have to cross Panipat. Secondly, Panipat was considered to be an important buffer state for North Indian territories. The importance of buffer state can be found in almost every battle of the world. So in order to win North Indian territories you have to take control of Panipat.

Wow really interesting question.
