He made starting that old car look easy - that was sweet! I love the classic cars - wish I could invent a Time Machine and travel there seeing made in history. Cheers guys.
My grandfather's first car was a 1917 Dodge Brothers. My grandparents were schoolteachers in northern California, and in the summer months would set out on epic multi-state car camping trips in the '17 and later a '23 Dodge Brothers, and my dad, a young boy at the time, used to love reminiscing about those trips. Fortunately, he recorded some of his memories of those trips in an oral history in the late 1980s.
A friend of mine had a '17 Touring like this car. With the big wheels and axle ratio it would really carry the mail. My Model A was all out keeping up.
Thanks for the ride! My friend has a 1925 Dodge Brothers boat tail racer called the blue plate special. We took it out a while back and I was the co-pilot watching gauges and keeping the fuel pressure up with the dash mounted hand pump. What a hoot! Lovely car you have there.
Need to clutch it to take out of gear and let up, then clutch to put in next gear, these are easy and fun to drive, You can crack the gear box or ruin the gears. Fun video to watch the joy of this experience
What an outstanding and impressive piece of art that you have, very neat indeed, congratulations, please make the best of it, most kind of you gentleman for sharing it with us, from the endless summer paradise Puerto Rico Jesus Torres.
I could imagine how upset Ford was when he found out the doge brothers were leaving his company. However the brother's were looking out for themselves and their families. And who could blame them for that.
So sad about the Dodge Brothers and the flu epidemic of that time. Can't imagine what they would have created if they lived on together. What a great legacy they left behind.

I noticed he seemed to be "double clutching" early in the video . Seemed he was letting it lug though. Then again I'm not familiar with antique autos.
Beautiful restoration. Same year my dad was born.
Looking at that you realize Model Ts were archaic even by 1917 standards.
Time spent driving an Edwardian Dodge is time well spent indeed !! 👌

This type cars look simple enough like you could build one over a week two
I liked the way it started. Half kick.
Henry Ford was fit to be tied as he felt betrayed when the Dodge Brothers left him and went into business for themselves.
He WAS betrayed. The Dodge Brothers were evil.
I could imagine how upset Ford was when he found out the doge brothers were leaving his company. However the brother's were looking out for themselves and their families. And who could blame them for that.
@@bakenumber4yep👍👍 the way ole Henry Ford was treating them, it seriously surprises me that they didn’t leave out on their own sooner.
