Newcastle fan here... what a player this guy was. To think we lined up with Dunc and Shearer up front together for a season, wouldn't fancy being a centre half against those 2. Good finisher Ferguson as well, bit underrated as a player.
I'm now 36 and Dunc is still my footballing idol. I was at Goodison to see his first goal, and took my little brother to his first game against West Brom to see his last goal.

My older brother played against Duncan in the Under 15's Scottish Cup Final at Tynecastle. Duncan played for Carse Thistle but jad already signed schoolboy for Dundee United. Carse won 5-0 that day and Duncan was brilliant. Everyone knew he was going to be a great player.

He's right big dunc , he lost half his career through injury never took penalties and played mostly in an era where everton were struggling , he should have had 3 times his goals tally at least

The bogeyman's mum used to tell him behave or Duncan Ferguson will come after you! What was so cool about him back in the day, is that he was ONE PLAYER that had a bit of mystique about him. He was intriguing. He NEVER did interviews. Players just reacted Differently to him. He's a guy who didn't need to talk about himself. What ive noticed about the rare characters and true hardmen is that it's NEVER them who talk about themselves. They don't need to. You ALWAYS hear it from other people in hushed tones. A true one off. Man i'm SO buzzing that Big Dunc is our manager now. For us Evertonians, it's the stuff of dreams. If the players don't respect and play for him, they won't play for anyone. Absolutely love this! Being born to a Scottish mother then moving back up in 04, he was my ultimate hero. The first footballer I chanted the name of, the first on the back of my shirt. He might have been a lunatic but his passion for the club and especially the fans was unparalleled then. The definition of once Everton has touched you for us born post 93. Also can’t understate how much of a gentleman he was when I met him as a kid and as teenager. I’m not one for getting pictures with people but I wish my dad would’ve snapped up while I was in awe.
Toffee TV : Everton Fan Channel just thinking about how Nev said Colin Harvey is what he pictures as an Everton player. I’m too young to remember Harvey, bar my dads 60’s/80’s propaganda, so big Duncan was always synonymous with Everton in my mind at a time when we weren’t necessarily winners, but fighters, and he would fight tooth and nail for us.
I am 41, seven years older than my brother. I had to send this vid onto him to show what I mean be the term ‘Legend’ Btw we are form Belfast, so Everton supporters post 1985 are few and far between.
As a scotsman big Duncan ferguson was badly missed for us at euro 96 his presence would of been big asset then he was a menace for Everton scoring goals I know everton fans loved him

Manchester lad and Manchester United fan, rivalries aside I have always had a lot of time and respect for Everton as club, a lot of tradition and proper passionate fans! Duncan could play, I know in the football world he was known for his physical game and his passion but he actually had a good football brain and a good first touch! I was at Wembley for that FA Cup final and was gutted but fair play! It's a shame there are not many players with nowadays who played with the same fire as Ferguson, nearest we have nowadays is Cavani (a bit of throw back CF himself) but sadly for us he is past his best now and injury prone but always gives his all!!! Anyway, good job lads and keep up the good work!

The SFA really must regret the way they handled the aftermath of his head butting incident, he would have scored a ton load of goals for scotland had he not been treated so poorly by the Scottish footballing authorities & quite rightly Dunc told them where to go!

As a Celtic supporter, I was really worried when he signed for Rangers, and I mean REALLY WORRIED ! He was a helluva player, run through a brick wall that guy. Still respect him to this day, thank fuck he never stayed at Rangers to long ! His whole life is Everton, RESPECT.
As a Scot the thing about Duncan that sticks in my mind is him waiting and taking an overhead kick against Germany.... think it was a friendly (I'm old so I maybe wrong). He didn't score but I remember thinking Scotland didn't have a striker who would have taken that on at the time. Confident with skill, sadly lacking in our game now. Great guy sadly didn't get the props he deserved IMHO.
A Rangers season ticket holder and what the SFA, and mostly the Strathclyde Police did to him was nothing short of barbaric.. He had to get away from Scotland..he had balls of steel and everyone knows, he is a true blue.. Everton that is.. what a love story that became, and still is.. a giant of the game, in every sense of the word.. he could’ve been a legend up here.. but he found home when he went to Everton and he found happiness. Scary big geezer but supposedly a nicer guy you could not wish to meet…respect big Dunc. 💙🏴🇬🇧
