- Vielle à roue et à manche de longueur vibrante 600 mm, cordes de violoncelle Ré-La-Ré + 6 cordes sympathiques pour ce modèle de vielloncelle 9 cordes. Frettage tempéré en ligature nylon, table en épicéa, éclisses en aulne, fond en bouleau, manche en charme, touche en alisier, mécaniques Wittner à réglage fin, micro Piezzo intégré.

If this somehow had a key mechanism on the hand crank, three buttons, each button would be for one of the strings, and pressing each button would lift one of the corresponding strings off of the wheel. Then this would be a very ideal and near perfect instrument.
The tricky part is how to get the buttons to engage and function in a spinning crank. But if that could be accomplished mechanically, the versatility of this instrument would be extraordinary.
the hurdy-gurdy has this capacity but the game is close to keyboard instruments! I just wanted a simple instrument with a neck and continuous sound to open up the extraordinary world of the hurdy-gurdy!
@@berneluthier I never saw a hurdy-gurdy with such a mechanism, with keys on the hand crank itself, to lift certain strings off the wheel while it is being turned by the player. The issue with the hurdy-gurdy is that is has keys instead of a fingerboard for changing the pitch. A fretless finger board would allows for playing in tune in any key, which a hurdy-gurdy cannot do.
Being able to switch between any combination of the 3 strings (silencing the others) on the fly, without stopping the crank, and not having frets, That would be ideal. To my knowledge no instrument has ever been made like that.

Bravos ,vous me faite rêver, je suis un artisan passionné du bois et spécialement des instruments de musiques , « je ne suis pas un luthier « juste un passionné du bois , je me suis fait une guitare archtop en 2011 et depuis je rêve à un autre instrument et voilà que je vous découvre , voilà j’aimerait si c’est possible avoir quelques info sur roulette , est-ce juste une roue en bois ou as-t’il une membrane sur le bois ? Mon dieu... Un des plus bel instrument que j'ai entendu de ma vie... Dis-moi, accepterais-tu de mettre des photos et détailler sa fabrication ? Je m'amuse beaucoup à créer des instrument moi-même, c'est un challenge qui me donnerai, je crois, beaucoup de joie de vivre :D
non, je n'ai pas pris de photos lors de la fabrication, mais la facture est assez rustique : une caisse avec une roue qui frotte les cordes !
Excellent work Phillipe! pourquoi cette conception est si rare? Il semble plus évident qu’une hurdy gurdy mais je ne pense pas que j’ai vu un tel avant
