- Sew with me a cover for a wedge pillow. First, I will explain how I created my pattern. Next, you will see how I prepared the fabric for sewing. Then you will see how I put all pieces together. You will see the settings on my sewing machine, and I will give you useful tips throughout the entire tutorial, too.
This tutorial is very beginner-friendly and very detailed. This tutorial is perfect for beginners since I often explain even the obvious.

I greatly appreciate the time you took to create this video. Your step by step instructions were clear and organized. Thank you!!
Thanks so much for watching and such wonderful feedback 🙏
So conscientious, meticulous and attention to details!! Wonderful video. Perfect speed. Great teacher! Thank you so much.
Omg, thank you so much for such wonderful feedback 🤩 greetings from Vienna 🇦🇹 and thanks for watching, Catherine
This was so well detailed! It’s so helpful to hear your thought process as you plan out the project. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for such a positive feedback, I appreciate it.
I’m so thankful I found your page! I’m super new at sewing & wanted to try making a cover for my wedge pillow & this video is perfect for beginners! Thank you!
Also, your “that’s what she said” joke at the end cracked me up! 🤣
Hi, welcome and I hope you're gonna fond useful videos. Feel free to ask questions anytime. I check regularly the comments. And thank you!
This is a well-explained, detailed tutorial from start to finish! It's just what I was looking for to make this kind of pillow case. Thank you so much.
Thank you for such a wonderful feedback, Barbara 🙏
Thank you for sharing this. I loved your tutorial. Very clear and easy to understand.
Thank you so much!
This is good because I want a blush pink velvet cover for mine
Excellent, my pillow news a new cover, I can’t wait to follow your instructions.🥰
Great! Happy to read that. Happy new year 🎉
Cool 😎 video, this is a must try! The only thing I would change is making the fold (opening) more on the wider end of the wedge for easier stuffing into the cover. I love the idea of top stitching the edges too, that looks really nice 👍😀❤
Hi, thanks for the wonderful feedback!
Thank you for the great tutorial. It was very helpful. :)
So happy to hear that! Thanks for watching 😊
Lara you are a great teacher! Very easy to understand and organized. I came from your main channel. Ive been wanting to learn how to sew more , thank you .
Thank you so much, it measn the world to me!
Wonderful, I have been pulling too tight when I make a slot in the back!
Exactly what I was looking for. As a former teacher myself, I do not take for granted somebody who really understands how to teach! (Also, I hope it's okay for me, a 72-year-old woman, to comment on your beauty, your warmth, and your grace...qualities that go a long way when an audience is an integral part of one's profession!) One question: can I assume that you removed the pillow cover prior to adding the edge stitching?
Hi, thank you so much for such a wonderful feedback! Yes, I took the case off before I've sewn around the edges.
I am delighted with your tutorial: Straight to the point with very good camera angles for us to observe clearly your pinning. So appreciate the time you spent showing us how to do this in a well explained commentary.
Why did you sew on the right side in the beginning? Many thanks 🙏
Thank you very much! The way I was sewing was because of the type of closure.
Nice cover. Good tutorial - easy to follow. I hate pins, too much poking my fingers. 😁 I love the little clips for hemming. Though, sewing over pins is a benefit. I like how you showed the cut-corner. This technique gives a crisp corner, welldone. LOL @29:20
Thank you so much! Haha, I had to throw it in there 🙈
Thank you so much for your help and videos. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
You are so welcome!
I was searching and found it to be 🥰
That's great! Thanks 🥰
23:34 putting pins STRAIGHT along where you want to sew first, then add pins ACROSS, against the line you're sewing. / Helps you see if you need to TRIM any extra fabric if you made seam allowance too big anywhere...on home made patterns.
If I wanted to add a zipper could you explain what I would do? New at this
I plan on making a zipper pillow case soon, I'll show it then. I have a hand sewing project that should be also helpful, though. I'll look for the video and post a link here as a reply
Okidoki, this should help: ua-cam.com/video/pl-xxv5SRO4/v-deo.htmlsi=ga1X4klHJ8b-svoR
Love this … I need a modification though .. I need to cover a much firmer cushion that will not sqiuish into the opening …. How could
I modify ….( without a zipper)
8th a wedge used for therapy !!
I think the safest way would be to make the opening on a side that will allow you to slide tthe pillow in. It would have to be on one of the edges, I think. I would then use velcro, snaps or make strings to tie where the opening would be.
Please can you share size of this back rest pillow?i am making one by myself and this size fits my requirements.thankyou very much .I'm from Pakistan.
Hi, sure! The pillow when you look at the triangular shape from the side is 50 x 55 x 27 cm. The width of the pillow is 62 cm. Greetings to Pakistan from Austria!
You see right over the pins, does that hurt your machine needle ?
No, it's an old technique. But you still have to be careful and can rather do a running stitch first or put the pins in straight and pull them out when the sewing foot reaches them. Whatever feels more comfortable for you.
No ables tanto😮
Perfect explain. But you should also show measure detail atleast what measure you use we should also known.
I understand, thanks. Thanks for the feedback and watching, I appreciate it. I didn't show the specific measurements because it wasn't standard size pillow, though. I figured it wouldn't help anyone who has a pillow in different size. But I can include it in future tutorials whenever I'll be making something similar.
I think your details were perfect (and I’m a beginner even though I’m old 👵
I just want to let you know the link for sewing classes is not working, it says error 404. Just in case you are not getting a good response, maybe this is why.
Hi, Marie, and thanks! I moved all courses here to my channels so people can watch them for free. I need to correct the info below the video. Thanks again!
My pillow is very firm so I think I need a different design.
It might work, though. This pillow is super firm, too. I used it to stay upright after surgery.
Great video, but it is never good to sew over pins.
You are right, better to be careful. And thank you 🙏
