It's mad that UA-cam back then was just either filming a day put with your mates or making a football video. That was UK UA-cam and now it's higher production then Half TV shows.
Fact, it was just like "Grab a camera and lets go film a vlog !" Good times..
These videos are actually better. If i wanted to watch top production id watching TV or netflix. This is real and relatable, and is what made youtube unique, with a real connection to the creator. Now its just like any other media form.
Facts, all the videos are much more memorable than Chris’ videos.
Its also way harder to try for new people to break into the youtube space now when everyone has massive teams behind them
The best videos back then were only like 4-8 mins long so they were very rewatchable, I must have watched every football video you showed in this 5+ times as a kid

UA-cam back in 2006/2007 were simpler times, the vlogs were simpler, editing wasn't the best, WMM was used a lot for everything, webcam footage instead of an actual camera........ sigh. Only sad part of today is that most videos are getting copyrighted or demonitized, as a fan video editor/video editor I have to pitch the music haha
But the editing today is cleaner + some of yours and all of Chris' videos are works of art, able to add tv show/movie references, use any form of camera for footage/vlogs.. Editing is now an art.
This is when UA-cam was raw, pure and fifa 17 was out so I will be honest I watched all of these and enjoyed them immensely. Hate overly scripted stuff but don't mind the big production budgets so swings and roundabouts

Although it's nice to see quality go up; from a viewer's perspective, it feels like Stephen and Chris have lost touch with the past. The quality of editing is not what makes a video great. Admittedly, I don't watch these youtubers anymore but their old content still appeals to me a lot more than the new polished videos. Even if the footage isn't of the best quality or the most relevant to the core idea of the video, getting to see the small interactions b/w them is what made them great. It felt personal, not corporate like it feels now. Maybe it's the rose tinted glasses of nostaliga speaking but I miss the simpler times.
Chris, Stephen, Will + Harry would be the best flatmates to have... No day would ever be unfunny !
I think I MAX was a real UA-cam glory his famously excellent film reviews were a thing of legend
