This planner is really cool! I love all the different colors they use for each month. I use my Hobonichi as a daily journal, so I think this would be more of a replacement for the Hobonichi Weeks or if people use their hobo as just a planner. I also like the size of this planner, super portable! The life book is very interesting! I think people who like to write short snippets from their day would enjoy that. Thanks for sharing!
Yup! Exactly! It´s pretty much like a Hobo Weeks, just slightly wider AND it´s vertical (woop woop!). Hobonichi is definitely the go-to planner if you´re into daily writing and/or planning. Since I´m a weekly-girl, the Jibun was my little light into productivity. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
Amy Tangerine thank you so much!! I’ve been loving the Jibun Techo planner this year, it’s super simple yet structured. But I can’t say that I forgot about the Hobonichi, I’m thinking of switching to the A6 daily for 2019, my heart is torn, lol 😅. I’d love to see how you end up using it if you get the jibun next year 💕
Totally! Having flat planners and notebooks in general is super important. They just make life easier, hahaha. I was thinking about using a TN at first, but because I am a sucker for japanese planners and this one just seemed to have everything I needed, Jibun it is!
This was wonderful!! I couldn't make up my mind, but I think that you pushed me over the edge. I am 99% sure I am going to get the Jibun Techo. LOL We shall see how I feel in the next hour...
LOL! Oh I know how that feels! It took me some time to decide too...thanks again for your comment! So glad you enjoyed the video and that it helped a little in that internal battle to find the "perfect" planner, hahaha. Good luck!
Cool video... And I like the colors in this one compared to others...think I would select this one just cause of the colorful pages at least some pages 😃.... Have two questions is this journal still available in 2020 ? And does it have illustrated “phrases of the moon” 🌛🌜🌚🌒🌖🌓🌒🌑🌘🌗💫🌙 Thank you 🙏🏼
Thank you! The Jibun was definitely a great discovery for me during that time. It is definitely still available and now they have come out with a daily format. I´m not sure about the moon phases, I think it had it, but I would have to double check my old planner.
Yes for sure, something I considered as well and I ended up deciding that the IDEA book was necessary, the LIFE book not so much, but it´s still something interesting to have. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for such a detailed post. I've subscribed because I want to see how you continue to use it. It's my first Jibun (coming from Hobonichi), and I want to get the most out of it!
Woop woop!! Thank you so much! You and I alike Karen, you and I alike... I can already tell you that the size (B6 Slim) is going to be a big change for me, coming from the Hobonichi Cousin. But it´s just exciting starting a new planner. Can´t wait to share once I´ve experienced it some more :D
It really is an amazing planner and there are enough English words through out the pages that it makes it easy to use. Unfortunately it is Monday start, which I realize doesn´t work for everyone. ;)
Great video! 👍 I'm glad to see more Jibun Techo videos on YT. I used the B6 Slim for 2017 (I have a 'functional plan with me' on my channel) and ordered the A5 Slim (need more writing space) for 2018. Looking forward to seeing your setup!
Oh hi!!! I´ve seen lots of your Jibun Techo setups, one of the many reasons I was convinced in getting this planner. There should definitely be MORE people talking about it btw. I had a hard time deciding if I wanted the A5 or B6, but then I thought to try the B6 since it´s a size I´ve never had and thought it would be more portable. :D Looking forward to more of your videos too!
I'm so happy you made this video! I saw it on Jet pens and couldn't find any current videos on it, yours was very detailed 😁 thank you! I think it'll be sticking to my bullet journal for 2018 but very likely to get this one as my second planner around June 😅
Yay!!! Glad you enjoyed it and that it helped you make a decision for next year. I can´t wait to dive into it, will definitely be posting updates of my progress.
Loved the video. I'm the moderator of the Jibun Techo Facebook group. Have you shared the video there yet? If not please do because your video was excellent😊
Nice review. I would like to know how you like it now, almost a year later? What are you going to use for 2019? I use the hobonichi A6 and my daughter the weeks. I think the A6 slim or mini Jibun would be useful for both of us, I like the color coding too. Can you order direct like you can with Hobonichi?
Thank you! I think I made the right choice in picking this planner for 2018. I´ve been loving it, I am a weekly planning person, however I want to challenge myself next year and want to try the A6 Hobonichi. I really like the size and I´m researching ways to make the daily planning easier. As for ordering the Jibun, I wasn´t able to find a direct store last year and bought mine from Etsy, but I believe they have a few distributors now like JetPens.
I´m torn with all the sizes, every year I try to go smaller, I´m using an A6 size for 2019, but all of them have a special place in my heart. I might try the weeks next year :D
Great choice! I actually planned to use that same one (and bought it!) before I found the Jibun Techo. Good thing I got it undated, so I can save it for some other time.
It's great isn't it?! The 2 planners actually have a very similar layout. I was telling a friend on instagram that if the passion planner was in a B6 size I'd have zero complaints about it and probably use it forever lol
You are very welcome! Jibun is definitely not for everyone, and all things aside I still love the Hobonichi style though perhaps not so much as a planner ;)
I am excited that you are also using the JT this year because I am hoping I will get inspiration from you, just the way I do with your Honichi videos. This is great! Thank you and have a great 2018. Looking forward to your JT se up video. :)
Thank you :). Well I don´t actually use fountain pens, but the paper is Tomoe River, and from what I´ve heard it´s the best for fountain pens. The ink runs really smooth.
AHH I'm so excited you got this planner! It's intrigued me for a while and I can't wait to see your future spreads in it :) (Although, I'm definitely also going to miss seeing your Hobonichi spreads!)
LOL! I know!! I´m definitely going to miss the Hobonichi (it was a reeeeeally tough decision), but I´m looking forward to trying a new planner. Thanks for watching Sabrina!
Believe it or not I felt the same way at first, but you sort of grow on it and it´s not so bad once you look at it a few times, haha. The Biz version of this planner is much more subtle though, if you want to check it out ;)
Hi Ursula! There´s actually a pencil board for this planner that is sold separately, though it doesn´t have the elastic band like the one from the 3-in-1 kit. Here´s a link to it from the JetPens page: www.jetpens.com/Kokuyo-Jibun-Techo-Shitajiki-Mini-B6-Slim/pd/21865
It really is wonderful! If you´re into weekly planning and love japanese planners, this is THE ONE. hahaha, glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for stopping by!
I left the link to the Etsy shop where I bought mine in the description box. Not sure if they still have it, since I'm pretty sure the new 2019 planners will be releasing soon. There are a few other shops that carry it, I think JetPens and another one I cannot remember its name.
Thank you so much! They ARE very similar right? But they're definitely different brands. I love both of them, cannot decide which one is my favorite though. #plannerstruggles lol.
Thank you for this video :) I've been looking all over for someone that shows the first weekly spread. I love that it starts in nov 2017, since that's the time I always start looking forward to next years planner X3 well constructed informative video :) that is not like 45 min >w>
Yay! So glad the video was helpful for you! I love it when planners start a little earlier too, it gives you the opportunity to see how to set about your planning method and style. Thank you for your comment!
Very cool! Thanks for telling me about this. Love how colorful it is and so compact. I really like all the collections pages and it is great that it goes so far in the future on the months. Thanks for sharing...SuzWhat🤓✖️⚫️✖️⚫️
Impressed with how you reviewed the Jibun...giving a nice summary of each page and its possible uses. Looking forward to seeing your other videos
Thank you so much for your kind words!! Can´t wait to share the evolution with you all :D

Loved this video so much!!! I’m thinking of making the switch to this in 2019 even though I love the hobo daily pages. You’re amazing! New subbie

I like the way it stays relatively flat when open and the 24 hr schedule. Using my own set up in a TN now but this Jibun is very tempting.
Totally! Having flat planners and notebooks in general is super important. They just make life easier, hahaha. I was thinking about using a TN at first, but because I am a sucker for japanese planners and this one just seemed to have everything I needed, Jibun it is!

Thank you 🙏🏼 for your reply...please check I’m curious about that 🌙
I've been thinking about switching, too. Your video let me know I only need the planner and not the other books. Thank you!
Yes for sure, something I considered as well and I ended up deciding that the IDEA book was necessary, the LIFE book not so much, but it´s still something interesting to have. Thanks for watching!

The layout is great, and the size is perfect. I am also a big fan of Tomoe River paper. Sadly I need a Sunday start and English.
It really is an amazing planner and there are enough English words through out the pages that it makes it easy to use. Unfortunately it is Monday start, which I realize doesn´t work for everyone. ;)

It is cool but that size would not work for me. I like the weeks and A6 size. Thanks for sharing this though!😁👍
User Unknown There is also a Slim A5 size
I´m torn with all the sizes, every year I try to go smaller, I´m using an A6 size for 2019, but all of them have a special place in my heart. I might try the weeks next year :D
Love this A6 size too, but I love the vertical planning and the A6 does not have the weekly planning.
wow this does seem better... wish i discovered this before the year started...
lolol, there´s always next year! ;)
I will be using the compact (A5) passion planner
Great choice! I actually planned to use that same one (and bought it!) before I found the Jibun Techo. Good thing I got it undated, so I can save it for some other time.
It's great isn't it?! The 2 planners actually have a very similar layout. I was telling a friend on instagram that if the passion planner was in a B6 size I'd have zero complaints about it and probably use it forever lol
Thanks for posting this. Sticking to the Hobonichi, though.

I´m equals excited too!! Thank you so much for following along. My setup is up btw, in case you missed it ;)
Definitely interesting planner, it sure does seem to cover pretty much everything 😊
For real! hahaha, it´s like they searched into my brain and created it JUST for me.
Pockets on outside. Books inside. I think I'm in heaven.
lol, this planner really is a great choice :D
I’m thinking of either getting a hobonichi or a jibun for school but I’m not sure which one would be better. Also I love your videos :)
Thanks Maya! I love both planners to be honest, I´m actually considering going back to Hobonichi next year and try the A6...
Excellent review! I'm seriously considering a purchase of the Jibun!
Thank you so much! It´s a wonderful planner and SO complete! ;)
Great video! Is the paper fountain pen friendly?
Thank you :). Well I don´t actually use fountain pens, but the paper is Tomoe River, and from what I´ve heard it´s the best for fountain pens. The ink runs really smooth.

I can’t get past the digital themed boxy font. I think the numbers look ugly :/ but good to have options in tr paper
Believe it or not I felt the same way at first, but you sort of grow on it and it´s not so bad once you look at it a few times, haha. The Biz version of this planner is much more subtle though, if you want to check it out ;)
It sucks that you can't buy the pencil board separately.

Thank you for sharing and introduction. :) Another new planner for me. It looks great and certainly, it would be pleasure to use it.;)
It really is wonderful! If you´re into weekly planning and love japanese planners, this is THE ONE. hahaha, glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for stopping by!
Excellent & thorough review!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it :D
sorry for dumb question but i cant find where to buy it ?

Great overview, thank you so much!
You are very welcome! Thanks for watching
UNDERRATED!
Is it all in japanese or english too?
The main titles are all in English. You can definitely get the jist of all the pages without knowing japanese ;)
Thanks for sharing! Just subscribed. I wonder if this are really different brands? The concept is so similar o_O
Thank you so much! They ARE very similar right? But they're definitely different brands. I love both of them, cannot decide which one is my favorite though. #plannerstruggles lol.
WOW thanks 💖
This is Amazing 🎬🌟☯️🤩
Thank you :D!
Thank you for this video :) I've been looking all over for someone that shows the first weekly spread. I love that it starts in nov 2017, since that's the time I always start looking forward to next years planner X3

Damn it, now i have to buy this one too xD
hahahaha ;) #plannerproblems
Very cool! Thanks for telling me about this. Love how colorful it is and so compact. I really like all the collections pages and it is great that it goes so far in the future on the months. Thanks for sharing...SuzWhat🤓✖️⚫️✖️⚫️
Thanks for watching! It´s such a great planner and yet it hasn´t gotten a huge amount of recognition in the planner community.
Great review! Thank you! :-)
Thank you so much!!
Omg. There's way too many pre-planned pages! That kills me! Lol
hahaha, I love it!! Though I will admit I haven't been using them much during the year, but they're still really fun to fill out! lol
Ruth Dever agree. I hate the restriction of pre planned pages.
You can always repurpose those pages
❤
