Nice video...thanks for providing it. I do see some corrections for the video. At a minimum, one emergency exit roof hatch and window must be open to show operation. Automatic failure when you sit in the driver seat without inspecting/fastening during the LABS test.
Now you need to do a video on how to train drivers to run buses late, and to take frequent rest stop breaks while driving the bus. Also, make sure on average each Rider runs at least 10 to 15 minutes late for their destination everyday!
Ms. Harris Some people just make no sense comments because they know nothing about the most stressfull job , but eventhough we always try to be reliable and safe...many don't know we have to deal with the traffic, people, detours, and other drivers on the road..I invite Ken Cooper to ride my bus and see for himself how our days are driving on the road...
Ever been a bus driver? When you can show them how to do it better than they do, then you have the right to criticize, if you just want to be a self centered jerk, then you make a comment like the one you made.
you will not complete CDL exam with the DMV. The DMV is completed with the Metro instructions you've met during your training at the Metro training session. The CDL exam is the written exam only. If I remember correctly, by the time you are at the DMV taking the test you will already have the driving portion and medical certificate completed and in hand. The instructions at Metro are exceptional and will ensure you pass but you have to do your part on memorizing the information contained in the video. There really is no reason not to pass both DMV written and hands on bus test at the DMV yard. The biggest thing is the air brake and the proper steps on completing them. I suggest you google a few bus pictures or take a few pictures of a Metro bus on your smartphone and then just look at them and go through the walk through. Take pictures of the interior as well... back, middle, front of interior in addition to emergency hatches etc and then just every day spend 10-20 minutes going through the Metro trip inspection vs. watching redtube. I unfortunately left the program within my 3rd week once I realized I would be unable to choose a part time schedule that fit an additional full time job. I have nothing but positive things to say about all the instructions and the program itself.
@@605darrius first day you start your going to study to get your permit after you get your permit to drive the bus you go to OCI which is like a bus school training they going to teach you everything but how I did it got flash card I wrote down the important stuff to say like 4B and 3S and the engine compartment the flash cards going to be your best friend lol and trust when class is over they let you go to the back and practice on the bus so you could learn how to do the 3 point of contact 10 test air brakes and start to continue your pretrip start with your air brakes first once you master that start to the interior which mean all your mirrors are fully adjustable not crack frayed or broken check the fire extinguisher make sure you say it’s up to date and full charge up to the green spot all your emergency triangle are properly not crack or leaking sand then you got your emergency windows your going to open let it go and let it shut by it’s self and you said it’s properly working not crack or broken and all my seat are intact and not crack or frayed these words I’m using “ cracked or frayed “ are key words they want you to use after the emergency window you have your emergency hatch in the back of the bus on the top and your going show them how to properly turn the knob open and close it and say it fully “ operational and working “ then you have these 2 I think there called dumb veil there like a handle with plastic glass and that handle will let you open the doors manually then from you would ask the instructor if he could go outside to check your left signal right signal 4 way flasher “ emergency hazard signal “ in the front and then will go to the back of the bus and he will signal you to do the left signal right signal and 4 way flasher emergency hazard and then you start with your tires after you done with your front tires you start with your 4B and 3S your gonna do that for front tires and back tires but the only difference is the back tires are dual axle tires it’s literally bit of different wording but you will understand when you get the study book after that you your got your clearance and reflectors lights your back engine compartment and that will be your whole pretrip on the bus
This is 2024 and post pandemic, and transit agencies are begging for applicants. Now, they're giving thousands in bonuses to entice applicants. With Uber, Lyft, Doordash, Amazon, etc., all needing drivers, many people are turning to those companies for driving jobs. Therefore, leaving many transit agencies with multiple vacancies.
Are the hours split, Do we get break in between? if its more than 6 hours that sounds more like full time. Are weekday hours less? Tx for answering qus. Is the schedule set, would they ask you to work more hours?
I'm going to be a bus driver when I'm older!

What about the lift aren't you supposed to preship that
Pretrip
That's not required on the exam.. Just your daily pre, and post-trip inspection is when the lift is checked
Yes it's supposed to be.
