This is what I ended up doing in my game! After watching Ryan’s video I created my own solo child sim (Sunoofah Lousiemum). His primary source of income was fishing. Eventually he earned so many Angler skill points that he got a partial scholarship for Uni to study Science and Medicine. After building his logic skill at Uni and getting his degree, he advanced quickly through the Medical career and now makes bank as a World Renowned Surgeon. He married the daughter of Jared Frio and Claire Ursine (SP named her Candace in my save file) and now they have 3 kids of their own living at 180 Wright Way (the Cormorant). Eventually Sunoofah’s eldest child will take up the mantle and continue to earn money to build a castle
Fun fact: the outdoor shower (which is from Sunlit Tides iirc), is BROKEN. It gives the nice shower moodlet, doesn't require privacy, and is cheaper than the regular shower. There's no reason not to use it LOL
@@luansh4237 That's what it's meant for, but you can use it as a regular shower with zero downsides. It's better than the other showers in every way. It also doesn't break!
I decided to try this in my game. Here’s how it went: 1) kids can fill their sleep need much faster with the sleeping bag. Plus it’s cheaper. But when the kid ages to a teen, you’ll need to pony up and get the more expensive bed 2) The only cheat I allowed was buydebug so I could purchase a tent (World Adventures) when I had enough simoleons and this helped on those rainy nights. 3) As many others have pointed out, don’t complete the gem/metal opportunity until you’ve scoured the map for lots of extra gems/metals to earn more money. 4) Fishing is not only a reliable way to make money, but it will increase your skill over time and eventually when your sim is old enough to take the Sims University aptitude test, their high fishing skill will earn them a decent scholarship for the Science & Medicine major. This works for painting skill too if you want your sim to pursue a Fine Arts degree 5) Pocket food is a must. Stock up on tomatoes and apples at the grocery store and keep them in your inventory for a quick snack when the hunger need dips
The most expensive wildflower is the Cosmos - it’s a red flower and you can earn 600 Simoleons if you sell it. I always make my Sims go flower picking when low on money.
Indian Blanket and Sweet William are also worth quite a bit (they're orange/red and pink respectively). How do I know this? Flowers are a prime source of income in my households. XD
Better make community lot exist sim google & play it then edit town for "stealing" sim google to sell to make lot money. Okay, only older sim that child sim cannot use sim google😏🌈🌈🌈🌈.
I played Sims3 when I was a child. And I know this town better than my own. So weird see all these places, it's like back home after years being away. And yes, my favorite part always was reckless challenges of surviving for my sim, so now God plays this game with my own life😆
Seeing Sims actually capable of taking care of themselves is making me cry with joy. I've been stuck in an abusive relationship with The Sims 4 for far too long now, I forgot how much better the older Sims games were 😫
Rookie mistake. What you need to do is walk around harvesting wildflowers. By the end of the day, you'll have enough to build a house. By the end of the week, you'll have enough to fit it out properly (kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, lounge). By the time you're an adult, you'll have a comfortable home on a tiny lot.
I've done a challenge like this but starting with a teen. It's barely a challenge: the gym has toilets, showers, and free food, and writing books on the library computers earned me loads of money from royalties. Curfew wasn't an issue as long as I was inside *somewhere* (often a sofa at the library). Starting with a child sounds like a lot more fun.
It’s easier in Sims 3 and 4 for a Kid to live alone because they have more options to eat. In the older Sims games it’s a lot more challenging because the Kid can only get themselves a snack which barely gets their hunger bar up. So I ordered Pizza all the time.
I tried putting all of my sims’ furniture in the family inventory when being notified that the repo man was coming. Having no furniture to repossess, my sims were charged simoleons to cover for what the repo man would have taken.
I laughed a lot when he adopted the bird! 😅 I miss playing The Sims 3. I love every detail. Being able to walk around the neighborhood is really cool. Love your videos!! ❤😊
I'm so glad whne you got the bird for your sims and was contemplating on getting a cage, it felt like your sims got The opportunit to lkve as a child for a moment instead of worrying about money and a roof over their head for a second, and they also got a companion so their not lonely, which was nice :')
This is the first video I’ve seen from you. I really like your humor and I love how your Sims 3 game runs! The Sims 3 is one of my favorite games. It’s so nice to see playthroughs of it.
I’ve learned the best way to make friends as a kid sim is to play tag! I have them play tag for a few sim hours and then the next day they are bffs And you can add other people to join tag and they also gain the friendship quickly It also works for adults if they are childish
Hey, ya made a Mooch! I'd been playing as a pure Mooch, but definitely not as a CHILD. It's desperate enough without having the limitations of being a kid and the super-annoyance of curfew!
Watching this again, that little bird you found reminded me of the Sims Medieval. The Pirates and Nobles stuff let you get a piratey parrot, or a hunting hawk. I wonder if you'd ever be interested in messing about in that spin-off. It's kinda to Sims 3 what Castaway Stories was to Sims 2.
I’m doing this as a regular playthrough (not a 0$ challenge tho) with mods to do things like disabling curfew and skipping school! But I wonder how did you make a household with just a kid? The game forced me to add an adult when making the game
Use testing cheats enabled true and shift click on the parent sim and disable them (Only works if you're playing as another sim like the child sim), if you do it like that the child worker surprisingly doesn't spawn.
I'm about to try this out soon but I'm adding a toddler or two to take care of! I'm wondering if I should make the kid a vampire for faster skill building, a witch for the spell that changes stuff into more expansive stuff or a werewolf for hunting but I feel like that'd be too easy... Edit: btw you can erase the school with cheats
Most of my playthroughs as a kid were usually a collationer and adventurous sim, usually with a garden as well. I'd try to collect every kind of collectables there are and grow every single plant there is to the best quality. I'd usually have one crop of each so it wouldn't take ages to tend the garden. Because of my obsession, now, being 23 and last time I played like this was when I was maybe 10 or 11, I still remember all of my favorite spots to find seeds, rocks, bugs and crops. But it's really only around Sunset Valley because I mostly played on that map through all of the years. That combined with World Adventures and collecting everything from there would take way too long and would probably take at least a few generations, so I'd usually play with aging turned off :V. I never really finished the a full collectable book either from base game or the one for adventures. My sims would only earn by selling things they collected and my favourite way to farm money was 1. a miner from Ambitions or 2. Block breaking form World Adventures. Both can drop you space rocks, metals and gems. I'd first send metals to refine it and gems to grind them and then sell them off. I'd always keep a collection of one of each gem with every single variant of cuts and every ingot. Didn't really care too much about space rocks, but the bigger ones sell for a lot so it's a shame not to take it. They aren't really special, there's only 3 sizes and they're just black chunks of a rock so no point to display it. I'd always end up having a HUGE basement filled only with ingots and gems. Children in my playthrough for some reason always ended up collecting things. Always. I didn't really like family gameplay, but I liked the idea, so I'd have kids and then didn't know what to do with them, so they were collecting more stuff to sell. I basically used them to bring rocks that I needed to finish my collection. They weren't much of a use otherwise :/.
Via cheats. Then you can either move in a kid and parent and immediately delete the latter (as was done in this video) or move in a single adult and then age them down to kid.
As the person above said, through cheats, but children who are taken by social workers do not disappear into the void like in Sims 4, they are moved to NPC pool

The Sims 4 kid living alone to get money is much much easier. Apparently you can make a club and force a bunch of adults to be your painting slaves. You will get money once you sell them paintings
I actually did something similar once, only that my kid wasn't an orphan. She just had a pretty useless father who hated kids, was never home, and spent all the money she earned in bars... Also, I'm not quite sure, but I think I had a mod that disabled the forced curfew for kids. You were still in trouble if you got caught by the police, but you weren't forced to go home.
