This idea started as a little fun project, but I realised how fun it was going to be and decided to make a bigger series out of it...
RULES:
1) Start with 3x Structures & start playing in tournaments
2) Every match LOSS = 1 random card in the list is permanently destroyed and replaced with a brick
3) Every match WIN = ANY 1 card can be added to the deck
4) Any ultimate rare or card over £10 pulled from prize packs allows us to bring 1 dead card back
5) GOAL? Locals win? Regional top? Game Over? NO IDEA

I can already tell how fun this is gonna be, those matches were wild for only just properly playing the deck for the first time LOL
Fun fact about powerstone! It counts activations anywhere. So during your opp draw phase you activate it then, resolve ponix and barong! It's really neat

Question, is it possible to recover cards by obtaining x number of wins or something like that? Or are the cards are lost forever?

He should put an exodia piece in. That way after he gets all 5 pieces there a very small chance he wins a game by exodia.
Would be so cool, but then the pieces wouldn't be a "useless brick"
I had a guy at my local playing the jeff exodia ftk draw 4 pieces in his opener. But he lost cause 4 peaces=no combo 😅

Just for info, if you declare Kirin effect and opponent says "ok", they cannot respond after for the destruction eff because it is one effect! Keep that in mind, razen couldnt protect himself so jiaolong couldnt summon
I think in true nuzlocke fashion if you lose a card (aka: a party member) you should be allowed to replace it with whatever you have in your collection for this series (aka: your PC box in pokemon) instead of replacing the losses with random useless cards
Melffy Rabby on his favourite stump should be placed into his deck to show off yugioh from scratch 2's history
Then galaxy serpent should represent scratch 1.

Any of the non fire statues will work but torrent is the funniest
Okay this, but if you win you get to pick from your opponent’s list to add to yours- and if you lose, they get to pick which card gets nuked.

I think final countdown would be a fun brick. Not really useful, probably won't affect the game, but if it does it will be hilarious.
I liked the exodia* brick idea some people mentioned 👀☕
I vote for Mild Turkey. It's somewhat seasonally appropriate, really bad, and replacing your "chickens" with turkeys is just kind of funny.
Cool idea for a twist on an already great series. I wonder if it is unnecessarily difficult though? The hardest it ever will be is at the beginning... And then just keeps snowballing because of the bricks. It means that by the first 3 episodes the deck will have probably 6 absolute bricks. Compared to a pokemon nuzlock which still punishes you for losing, but then drives you toward innovation with the tools you still have or haven't tried yet (instead of giving you a magicap in your party for the rest of the run for eg.)

It never ever fails to amaze me to see how many ways you can make "man gambles on 30-1500 dollars of cardboard" feel new and unique.
I feel like if we are gonna punish him we should only put in normal monsters that do nothing to help his deck… so let’s give him a bean soldier
I think you should use those for fun cards Konami has released like transmission gear, convulsion of nature, or even Yu-Jo friendship! It would be hilarious to see the look on opponents faces when you resolve all those wacky cards 😂

Not sure it mattered but in game 1 of the first round where you activated Sky burn to protect Garunix, you couldnt do that in the same turn you activated it to pop cards. :)
Well his opponent also cheated with the diabellstar effect so its a 1-1

Me personally. I’d slowly add hero cards starting with the bricky ones like increases, mali so eventually you’re just playing hero’s
I don't even play yugioh yet as a tcg player I'm always so hyped for these vids 🤟

as someone who is also doing a series with fire king i definitly recommend puting in one for one to up your consistency
My favourite brick is the man the myth the Gem-Knight Garnet
Imo i would add in origin of sinful spoils since it not only fills the rolls of one for one but it also opens up the snake eyes cards as potential adds into the deck

Sky burn can not use protection effect the same turn you activate pop effect
I think you should put in Larvae Moth because you can only special summon it when you have 2 very specific cards on the field and when you equip the first card with the second you need to wait two turns to tribute them
Gilford the Lightning as a brick would be funny
I never been to a locals in my life, i don't have any competitive decks just structure decks and some cards like Vijam the Cubic Seed which what I would build around.
18:17 does this otk work instead? add circle, xyz garunix, attack, activate circle: destroy xyz, summon rangbali, xyz gy effect to summon itself and garunix, garunix effect: destroy arvata from deck, arvata effect to summon kirin, attack for 9k+.
Not sure how relevant it was but when he activated fire recovery it was in the same collumn as the set imperm after resolution therefore shouldve been negated.

I think the brick here should actualy just be litteraly Gem Knight Garnet. I know it's a decent-ish beat stick but it is the card that is the name sake of the idea if garnets so it's only appropiate
I want you to put in the wing dragon of ra, not sphere mode but ra, its the perfect replacement to the other fire chicken you lost right?
In R1 G1 you used Sky Burns effect to destroy and then later that turn to protect. But you can only use 1 "Fire King Sky Burn" effect per turn, and only once that turn.
The audio quality is really nice
Interesting to note, the volcanic player couldn't have set inferno with emperor with no pyros in banish. Emperor has to burn to set, and with no pyros in banish when it hits the field it does not get to burn.
I was the volcanic player that’s actually good to know not that it happens often cause you usually banish rimfire to send him but I’ll keep that in mind thanks
Low key a fun idea for a future challenge. You bring a legal Edison format deck and you slowly built it up to modern meta or build a deck based off just 1 box of any set and force yourself to duel with it even if barely playable (similar to the yugioh masochist series people do on master duel).

hey rev i wanted to get started with yugiho and seeing your vids got me hooked quickly. gl with this challage ill be looking forward to this adventure. ive been looking at some cards on masterdual and whas wondering on how a metalfoes & snake eye package works with firekings it looks kinda oke but no expirence
Snake eyes are really good with fire king, not sure about metalfoes. In theory it would work but it sounds kind of bricky
I think replacing the lost cards by iconic characters monsters might be funny
For the 2nd match, second game, when the Garunix declared attack and you used Ponix to block, wouldnt he have to redeclare attack with Garunix or lose its attack? I didnt think he could just use mudragon instead and then attack again with Garunix.
You have 3x copies and x1 copies in your deck, if a x1 copy is destroyed can you replace it with one of the other 2 you pulled from the decks?
My favorite garnet for this is my favorite vanilla

So like what's the plan for if one of the deck core support gets nuked permanently? Is it just a downward spiral of losses from there until the entirety of the core gets wiped?
I think the only possible card able to replace the ultra chicken, is the ultimate chicken: Niwatori

I think you should add SP since you need to increase the ceiling of the deck before you worry about consistency
In the second game your opponent couldn't activate the trap in response to garunix since you were still in the damage step
In game 1 against volcanics you actually couldn't use sky burns protection effect.
People running about is a card that always makes me laugh
Add Koitsu as a brick, I've never seen those itsu cards in a deck xD
I vote to replace any dead card in main deck with fire reaper. Its still a fire monster but is also now a zombie so its like his fire monsters remains

I'm not sure about this series, in my personal opinion this structure was a good opportunity to get a long Yugioh from scratch/properly because there a lot of interesting progression with a good competitive results in the future like dragon link history but I understand that the people and creators want different content.
True, but it would conflict with the RDA series too much, so this was the best I could think of to still do something with it

Im with the people in the comments saying that the penalty system isnt challenging its just irritating in creating a massive losing spiral that wont actually allow the deck to grow and develop at all meaningfully and "better win" isnt really incentive enough to justify it either.
I agree, especially with everyone playing highly consistent and better decks. Two players with Sinful Spoils and S:P Little Bih out of the gate is only going to be a preview of how much of an asskicking this will take

Question on last game, since giant trainer was destroyed, wouldn’t garunix had triggered? I know that it was attached as material but wouldn’t also known about the destruction like with island?
It needs to be already in the graveyard when a monster gets destroyed to trigger. Thanks to the clause "(even if not)" it can be triggered in hand when it was added through FKI.
At 11.02 your opponent activated a spell in the imperm column and noone noticed it 😅
