The thing that concerns me with DLC being in that category, is that they want to shift perception of DLC to be thought of as a full game.......all so they can start pricing them like a full game.
They want to normalise milking existing IPs rather than come up with new ones. That, and if you can get people onboard with continuously investing more and more money into the same game, it won't be far from having you invest in skins and the like too
@@Stuck313 "Normalize milking IP's" Can you tell me something new any COD game maker has done thats new to justify to charge $70 or more for? SOTE is an entire game in an open world like DS3 that actually works. Sure BMW has a very strong running, I agree it should get top points for a lot. The next opponent it has is a DLC that is already one of the biggest games to be in the last 4 years. I dont think there is any other game at all than BMW and Elden ring that should be in the running for Game of the YEAR. Sony lost a lot of money because of PSN bs and WH40K is just a "were not HD2 in power armor". Didnt change anything except yes its a good set of games in a SEA OF TRASH
The BIG issue with the game awards that they still have yet to address is, WE GAMERS DO NOT VOTE ON THE GAME NOMINEES!! That doesn’t make any sense…why aren’t actual GAMERS voting? It shouldn’t be left to a small group that can easily be swayed by external influences…am I the only person not pointing this out?? Can we get these UA-camrs band together and start a People’s Choice Game Awards?!! I don’t want any smalls groups deciding or debating over what US CONSUMERS deem good anymore!
Problem is then nothing outside DOTA2, League, Genshin impact, CSGO, and Fortnite would ever get nominated. Popularity contest. Or some community decides to meme-vote Dustborn or some other garbage. You need some form of checks and balance, like maybe just 5-10 dudes who can ensure none of those situations happen.
You act like you don't know what will happen if people got the full power to vote. No awards would ever be even remotely about the quality of the game.
I mean it was kind of expected with companies like IGN having a 90% vote while the audience only got 10. Truly the most accurate gamer representation we could ask for
i was having similar thoughts until i read this comment (under this same video): _"The thing that concerns me with DLC being in that category, is that they want to shift perception of DLC to be thought of as a full game.......all so they can start pricing them like a full game."_ that... makes a lot of sense. it's not that the people running the show doesn't realize how awkward putting a DLC into a regular game category is, they are more likely forcing it as a manipulation tactic.
why is nobody talking about the golden joystick awards, they had much much better categories and nominations and were afaik fully user voted, they had a single category called critics choice instead of every category being basically critics choice
Because they don't have fancy world premiere trailers, that's honestly literally it. Most people tune in to the game awards as a replacement to E3 for new game announcements
If the award is entirely decided by player voting, game manufacturers will not sponsor the award. And without sponsorship, they will not be able to place advertisements to let ordinary players know about the award.
I mean people do talk about it but game awards have trailers which makes it more popular although golden joystick is longer running. And there is also steam awards.
Popular vote has never been a good idea. You have people like Asmongold that says 'this game is good' and then 200k sheeples go and vote for that game. Wow amazing.

Its just worthy. If it was a person it would be able to wield Thors hammer.
Look at the steam numbers for Armored Core 6 lol. It gots lots of praise, won best action game, I have never seen such a highly praised game have its playerbase dive so fast and stay dead. 88k average players month 1. 5k average players month 3. Less than 2,000 average players currently. Its barely a year old. That's way worse playerbase retention than Back 4 Blood haha.
Of course people are mad. You not only gave them 10% voting power, but they're up against game journalists and publications that don't even talk about games at all with 90% voting power. What did you expect?
Stop crying about your vote only mattering 10%. Most people have not played even half of the games nominated. Go watch any reactions to the nominees. Literally 90% of the reactors (including Amongold) go "Uh, I've only played one of these" during every category. The jury has played all the games. The fact that space marine 2 didn't get nominated for GOTY but elden ring dlc did, which also got mixed feedback on steam says a lot... We need a few big youtubers or just credible gamers to make an award show voted by gamers...
It matters because what ever wins means what ever people copy for the next 10 years, aka when over watch won we got a bunch of over watch clones? Most of the people like 90% in here are playing mobile games, valorant, roblox, GTA 5, & other game. Most people liked Japanese games more in here even that that's because people had PS 1 & 2 back then
BG3, CP2077 is only hype train. Literally no one playing it in my country even tho they tell it is good game but they are only follow the majority & not playing the game
To be fair, Elden Ring is only upgraded Dark Soul. That is how Japanese Game Devs do their games. GOTY iam ok, but it's not even played by the most majority of people in the world
The popularity always controlled by western Medias BTW. Most games that played by asian gamers will not come out on International Internet if western media do not want to
Why are people still paying attention to these game awards then if they are rigged? Gamers should start their own award ceremony, and stop giving attention to these organizations that pander to journalists or whatever.
…one can dream. But realistically that very ceremony will most likely run into the same issues (sponsors etc) as any other game award ceremony, and therefore will become exactly like the other shows we have now. It is called capitalism.
Another oddity is their stances on remakes being nominated for GotY. Just last year, they had Resident Evil 4 nominated for GotY. A remake of a game that originally released about 20 year ago with an HD facelift. Silent Hill 2 does show up in a few categories, but this begs the question why Persona 3 Reload doesn't even show up on this list if they allowed those ones? Literally everything in P3R is new assets, new scenes, new animation, voice acting, new + remade music, etc. so it could still compete for best soundtrack since tracks like "It's going down", "Full Moon Full Life", "Color your Night" weren't in the original. It's technically the same story being told, but isn't that the same case for RE4 too? I give FFVII R a pass since it's really not a "remake" of the original; it's not even the same game, and I question if it's even telling the same story.
Yea, I see a lot of people claiming since Elon took over, he’s been “really strict with what can be said” by exclaiming “I can’t even talk about Example 1, Example 2, Example 3…” while talking in detail about each of those examples over what they’re supposedly not allowed to say … despite people pointing out that their posts are being seen just fine and they can still read them talking about their examples lol. Being “censored” in that regard is essentially: “I don’t like that certain unfavorable views that I don’t agree with can now be put on an even playing field with my views on this social media platform. It’s not fair that their views can be freely posted and seen by others alongside my own. I dislike how they get pushed in the algorithm with my posts because I think they’re wrong, and I believe their disinformation shouldn’t be allowed to spread like that as it is dangerous. Before he bought it, we filtered posts like that, and my views got to be spread more because they aligned with the company. I got a lot of engagement prior because I don’t want to acknowledge that the only views being pushed were the ones that aligned with mine, and it’s all people saw giving me the impression that my views are insanely popular. But as soon as he allowed those _other_ posts to freely spread, now I don’t get as much engagement. That doesn’t mean my views are not popular, no, they are! I swear! It just means they’re all BOTS intending to drown out and censor people that think like ME!” It can’t possibly be the fact that there are more people now freely able to express their views without autobans and time-outs. No, in their minds, they’re all just bots and only their views are truly popular. It’s why they’ve flocked to Bluesky lol - they only feel comfort knowing all the “wrong” views are immediately filtered and blocked, allowing them to be in a safe space again where they can be in delusion thinking their views are what’s popular while touting that platform as being about “free speech” lol.

My gripe about this game awards is stellar blade not being a part of the game of the year nominees and erdtree being a part of it, even though it's an amazing expansion,it's still just a dlc, and a dlc from a game 2 years ago shouldn't be competing in this years game of the year awards. It's an insult to the other games that are nominated.
Yea Erdtree shouldnt be there. And Stellar Blade shouldnt either. Played it twice and it's a really good game, but not enough to push to GOTY nomination. The story was meh tbh.
stellar blade isn't that good. holy f your standards are low, just because asmongold glazed it after playing it for 5 minutes (does he even play anything anymore?)
Stellar Blade is so good that the Political correct game awards could not even deny and ignore 2 nominations for Best Action Game and Best Soundtrack. For Shift Up first AAA game is a great acomplishment. Also it's still a Playstation exclusive and already a big success, just imagine the sales on PC in the feature.
I really don’t play too many games like Stellar Blade, but finally bought it on Friday. I’m now twenty hours in and really loving it, and it isn’t because of some hot woman.
@@ApotheNZyes, but the heavy lore is already made, inspired on the classic chinese novel: "Journey to the west". Huge advantage. Stellar Blade was made from scratch and in my opinion the semi open world areas, exploration, music and 3 endings make it more replayable than Wukong.
I'm gonna say it again. Keighley's panel of jurors is what it is, because it's how he funds the show. If y'all feel so strongly that there needs to be a better panel, feel free to fund and produce your own show. There's no law against you doing your own game award show. Just do a kickstarter or something where all the funding to produce the show comes from video game fans, then you can make the vote entirely fan-based.
Ya know. I can't help but notice that Filian did this exact thing after she got tired of the corpo shill-fest that the vtuber awards became. (Don't get me wrong, Ironmouse is quite the worthy recipient of SOTY, but unless you were Vshojo, Holo, or Niji, you were not getting nominated.) It CAN be done Keighley, you would do well to remember that.
I would argue that people should still be mad. The Game Awards continue to be overrepresented by video game journalists. DLC and game updates don't belong anywhere except the Best Ongoing Game category. They shouldn't be qualified for Game of the Year in a year they didn't release in.
@@aphexinc That is a matter of opinion and view. I would put forward that a DLC can only ever be "good" if the underlying game is already good. If the game isn't that good, the DLC will never be "good enough". Inversely, if the game is good enough, any DLC for it is going to naturally be "good". The only reason why Erdtree can "rival most current triple a releases" is because it is a triple a release for a game that is already great.
Geoff is the worst. He’s a relic of the past that refuses to go away. Has been desperately trying to be “Mr gaming” for a long time, but as far as I’m concerned has no credentials. The Game Awards is just the latest scheme. Guy can’t even say “Mario” correctly.

So, SOME misconceptions here: 1.) "Game of the Year" can be given by any outlet. So, you will often see "Game of the Year" on games that don't win the Game Awards Game Of The Year title. Some games, like Skyrim, win multiples. Skyrim won 227 Game Of The Year awards in 2011. So, not winning the premiere GOTY awarded at the Game Awards doesn't necessarily mean a game can't tote that it won GOTY from SOMEWHERE. 2.) Before 2014, the Game awards were held and sponsored by different outlets, like the DICE Game awards in 2013, or the Spike Video Game Awards in 2010. Since 2014, Geoff Keighley, who also hosted the Spike VGAs, the most popular VGA show, but hardly the only one, went on to create the current VGAs we're speaking of. 3.) The Process: There is an administration board, consisting of over 50 different representatives from companies like Nvidia, Microsoft, AMD, Sony, and several big name developers, who don't get to nominate games, but DO get to choose the jury and the winners based on the jury's voting. The nominating and voting is submitted by the jury, which consists of over 100 different media outlets who have demonstrated some capacity at reviewing games during the year. Rolling Stone may not feature games in their magazine, but may have an online section on their website for games. The jury pool has gone global, as has the administration team (no longer just America/Canada). Each Jury member selects 5 games to nominate in an unordered fashion. The 5 games with the most names listed become the top 5. Then, each outlet is given often pre-release or zero-day press release copies of the game to play and test, and vote. The public can vote on discord, social media, and the VGA website. The jury's vote counts 90% and the public's 10%. The administration team then chooses the game with the most votes as the winner. The award is usually given to the video game's director or executive from the development team.
0:41 Let's be honest here. IF the journal reviews were accurate, it should have been nominated. IF they acted with integrity and didn't give brownie points to social agendas, it was one of the most highly rated games by journalists this year. The FACT that is was not even a contender is correct but also another point on the graph to indicate it isn't the toxic vocal minority that disliked the game and game journalists are actually disingenuous.
"Games aren't worse than they used to be, guys!" Meanwhile it's hard to even think of six games that deserve to be nominated for GOTY this year. Edit: How did I know every reply would either be: "I started playing games in 2018 and I think gaming is awesome right now!" Kid, you don't know any better. 2017, 2019, and 2023 were the last dying gasps of a once great industry, and I doubt we'll see many more before it finally gives way. "The industry is fine, just look at how many awesome indies there are!" Right, because we used to have to point to indies for GOTY. That's definitely not one of the biggest indicators of how bad a state the industry is in. There was a market gap, and people rose to fill it. Why do you think two of the biggest games this year were from Chinese and Korean devs? "Here are 6 GOTY. Half are remakes and remasters, and the other half are 7-8/10 games (probably with an asterisk)." Yes, remakes, remasters, and a damn expansion pack being in the running for GOTY, I don't see how this could possibly indicate that gaming is worse than it was. Hell, if Erdtree wasn't on the list you know what would be? SH2 Remake. and my favorite, "Guess you're not a real gamer." True, because real gamers by your definition are braindead consoomers who would buy shit on a stick if there was a dope trailer. Y'all are pathetic. We can play the no true Scotsman game all day. A real gamer would hardly ever buy new games because they know how much better games used to be. We all know that there are two real GOTY contenders this year. Fucking, two. This industry has been on a slow and steady decline since 2011 if not before, and you shilling for it will not result in better games. If you give a shit about games like you claim, put your money where your mouth is and stop supporting this crap. Then maybe you can start digging into that backlog you're always complaining about.
Legacy media supported games, after the failure of condord, veilguard, outlaws, ac shadows. This year has been great imho, which is impressive when the big studios are failing so hard.
@@Velshin1986 Most are 8/10 games. Dragon Age 3 HD remake or Dragon quest 3? There are good games but most are not popular. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Metaphor Fantazio and Tekken 8 are 9/10, the rest is lower.
It never got shit on for actual reasons though. There were 9 difficulty levels until escalation of freedom that added the 10th, and most players couldn't fight bugs properly, let alone bots. I disagree. Most people would agree that you should release a complete game and the release version of a game is the most important one. Games patched after release shouldn’t be nominated right? Ok then the inverse should be true. If a game released in a great state and gets worse for some amount of time after, it should still be applauded. The reality is that Helldivers was all the gaming community was talking about for MONTHS. It deserves to be recognized for that no matter which way you slice it
Astro Bot. Balatro. Black Myth: Wukong. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Metaphor: ReFantazio. I honestly believe neither Astro bot, Black Myth nor Elden Ring should be on this list. Erdtree is dlc. And if dlc is allowed to be nominated why wasn't Endwalker for FF14 nominated when it released? The fact that DLC has never been nominated before makes me not like this Erdtree nomination. Black Myth was a fun game but I honestly believe it was overhyped. And I love the game. Where is Helldivers 2? Say what you want about the psn fumble, but that game was massive and still is big. It's a great game that deserved a spot on this list imo.
I am willing to bet pushing Elden Ring DLC as one of the nominated Goty is a distraction, shield and attack. Distraction: So they could push "special" game while ER getting some of the brunt damage. Shield: Using ER fans to protect them. ER DLC is so good that it felt a complete game, Soul-like fans would like to protect ER. Attack : By giving ER DLC this opportunity, it damage the reputation of ER. something AAA devs would be happy with.
Dude, are you stuck in last year, January? AAA devs got over Elden Ring being awesome a while ago. They went through the stages of grief, and they accepted it and then started making their own soulslikes like Lies of P

Best Action, Best Multiplayer, Best RPG, Best Fighting game, Best strategy These awards all function as a Best gameplay award. As you may have noticed, if you have ever played video games, there are multiple different genres of games, all having different gameplay styles. I pray that Asmon fans have not gotten dumber over the years
@@lefishe6611 Looking at the way those awards are worded I would take them to mean best game in their respective category, not best gameplay implementation of a certain category. To put it another way, the person walking on stage to collect the award probably isn't the lead designer of the relevant gameplay system, but rather the overall project director that represents the studio. I think to do this type of voting justice they would need to have ballots cast by a group of their peers for their respective categories. Kind of like how with the Oscars you're going to get Best Editing chosen by people within the Academy that are editors, and so on.
Just because wukong is nominated doesn't mean it would get anything they will completely ignore that game I guarantee it They only added it to stop backlash

Both rebirth and remake are odd games cuz I'm not sure what to call them. Cuz Nomura has said that they are going to follow the same plot as the og, yet they also have multiverse stuff.
So you have to make it to the last couple hours of the game for it to be clear? That makes it sound like a remake with a little bit of new content added. Not enough to be considered a new game.
its kingdom hearts 3 with some new skins. Sickening what they've done with the legacy of ff7. Game is average good; Story generally knows how to take OG and make it worse. GOTY apparently. I hate being scammed.
@appelfrieter5869 It is a bad joke that it got nominated for basically everything though and Palworld got nothing. It's the type of game they play at work in the office in between tweeting. Hardly a sweaty gamer's game, which is what most younger people want to see.
@@appelfrieter5869 it's my GOTY for sure but I'd consider it better to have an Indie GOTY separate from massive blockbuster games, I can understand why people don't understand comparing them
There is a very simple solution to this: Just make a new category in the Game Awards for the best DLC/xpac content, that is seperate from the best game of the year. That way you can recognize both new games and addons to current games. Its like how people think stunt actors who do action films deserve to be recognized in their own movie category, not just the actors.
Cosmetics use to be DLC. 1-2 missions some games are DLC. COD is map packs. How can you vote for DLC being game of the year when the DLC can be anything from a sword/gun skin to an entire expansion to a game. What next they will vote on best micro transactions for game of the year in the future.
21:12This is a fact, not an opinion. DLC is inseparable from the game in which it is additional content for, but their excuse for it being a nominee iirc is that DLCs are also art. This should really tell you, if it hasn't already, what the mindsets of dorito pope and the other people in charge of the game awards are. I get it, video games are art, but this is going too far into the "video games are art" side of things.
Could you imagine though 😂😂 I actually kinda want this to happen - the backlash would drag the swamp of modern "games journalism" into the light for all to see, and the resultant angry chaos would be beautiful.
Lol I heard about fans only getting 10% of the vote, but when I heard critics had 90%, I thought it would only be game critics. I didn't know these random sites that have nothing to do with gaming had so much say in this. None of these people finished either Wukong, Silent Hill 2 or Rebirth. And none of them beat Mohg to unlock the Elden Ring DLC. So judging by the list of "critics" it seems obvious that Balantro ans Astrobot are going to win everything because they're the only games featuring journalist difficulty.
How do people not know that FF7 Rebirth isn't a Remake at this point. Oddly, it's the best kept "secret" that everyone should know by now that it's a sequel.
It might be a "sequel" to part 1 of the 2024 released remake of the 1997 original, but the whole planned 3-part project is still very much a remake of the 1997 of FFVII. Anyone believing otherwise has never played the OG game.
@kclink1579 We know, it's just another kingdom hearts 3 marvel multiverse crap fest. They ripped up the OG and turned it into a soulless cash cow. Apparently I'm one of the whispers you beat at the end of Remake... it's sooo deep, what a story!
It’s not even a sequel it’s a re imagined version of the game that fails to be good on its own and does the source material so dirty that 70% of the fan base hated it entirely so much even the developers said it fail to sell well.

But at the same time, Owlcat can't release a working game to save their life and need an extra year to fix all kinks and bugs in their games. They're releasing broken games in a niche genre, so obviously they're not getting recognition.

I agree, you can ONLY access the dlc in ER if you kill 2 specific bosses which are far into the base game and get into an endgame area…in the base game 🤣 You want to reward something only those that a small amount of people even got to? Not the ones who bought the dlc but actually made it there. No. Stop sucking off ER, it was godly in the year it came out as well as the expansion obviously, but it doesn’t need trophies to prove it. People who played it know it was good. It’s simply common sense Geoff. You have to see what gamers are playing through the year not game journalists
The whole point of the game awards is marketing. That's really the goal here. Simply being nominated is a big deal because it brings spotlight (or additional spotlight) to an IP, game company, and/or individual that they otherwise wouldn't have on a grand stage. Attention is ALWAYS important. And that's exactly what these award shows are here for.
Yeah. God of War winning over RDR2 was insane. Don't even get me started on TLOU2. Everyone hated that game and it somehow won over Doom Eternal, Animal Crossing, GHOST OF TSUSHIMA, and Hades. That's just ridiculous.

They want to normalise milking existing IPs rather than come up with new ones. That, and if you can get people onboard with continuously investing more and more money into the same game, it won't be far from having you invest in skins and the like too

that... makes a lot of sense. it's not that the people running the show doesn't realize how awkward putting a DLC into a regular game category is, they are more likely forcing it as a manipulation tactic.
U have a sample in Golden Joystick, then they nominated Power wash sim DLC as Best expansion because they dun have enough DLC to fill in.
why is nobody talking about the golden joystick awards, they had much much better categories and nominations and were afaik fully user voted, they had a single category called critics choice instead of every category being basically critics choice

Most of it are western type of game. In my country that game is only played by mid-rich & that has the pc spec.

Because Persona is niche and no one cares about it.
P3R didn't get nominated because Metaphor outclasses it in every single way, aside from maybe music.

Being “censored” in that regard is essentially:
“I don’t like that certain unfavorable views that I don’t agree with can now be put on an even playing field with my views on this social media platform. I swear! It just means they’re all BOTS intending to drown out and censor people that think like ME!”
It can’t possibly be the fact that there are more people now freely able to express their views without autobans and time-outs.

So, SOME misconceptions here:
1.) "Game of the Year" can be given by any outlet.

"I started playing games in 2018 and I think gaming is awesome right now!" Kid, you don't know any better.
SH2 Remake.
and my favorite,
"Guess you're not a real gamer." True, because real gamers by your definition are braindead consoomers who would buy shit on a stick if there was a dope trailer.

I love Helldivers 2 but if you spend most of the year being shit you don’t deserve game of the year.
It never got shit on for actual reasons though. There were 9 difficulty levels until escalation of freedom that added the 10th, and most players couldn't fight bugs properly, let alone bots.
However I'm a firm believer that listening to the majority of the fan base because it's the majority, and what keeps your game running.
It's been not even a year and Arrowhead has listened to feedback (finally) and now the game feels way more fun, I'm talking senator AP 3/4, killing hulks good.
The DSS just launched after weeks of fighting for it.

Game has been fine the whole time. I feel like you should stop reading patch notes and just enjoy more of the actual game.
It deserves to be recognized for that no matter which way you slice it
Helldivers 2 actually was dang near perfect the whole time. It wasn't even close to being shit. You definitely didn't play it

Astro Bot.
Stellar Blade was snubbed through and through
Ofc in this day and age many would call it misogynistic, sad times
It will be even more snubbed if it somehow loses best music, wich it should win no contest

AAA devs got over Elden Ring being awesome a while ago. They went through the stages of grief, and they accepted it and then started making their own soulslikes like Lies of P

But we dont have to pretend SOTE is a normal DLC.
It has GOTY quality and delivers more than many full price games.

The name is “game awards”, not “dlc awards”.
But the Game Awards are not about games, there is no “best gameplay” category.
Best Action, Best Multiplayer, Best RPG, Best Fighting game, Best strategy
These awards all function as a Best gameplay award.
Just because wukong is nominated doesn't mean it would get anything they will completely ignore that game I guarantee it
They only added it to stop backlash
The game is well received within the industry and most of the hate for the game are degens and doomers on Twitter that do not even belong to the industry. The game literally caused a shift in many development studios that will be visible for you in a few years, which will result in more "cool shit" and better games. Wukong upped the ante for creativity and giving the people the time to actually execute it. The game will win a few categories, I already know that.

ff7 rebirth isn't a remake.
it was marketed as a remake but it's a multiverse sequel. same for ff7 "remake".
you can see it very clearly in the last couple hours of the game.
Let me ask you this would you consider resident 4 or Dead Space worthy as a game of the year? @@chanter3978

@@appelfrieter5869 it's my GOTY for sure but I'd consider it better to have an Indie GOTY separate from massive blockbuster games, I can understand why people don't understand comparing them
It's such a good game
90 dollar wow mount GOTY
21:12This is a fact, not an opinion. DLC is inseparable from the game in which it is additional content for, but their excuse for it being a nominee iirc is that DLCs are also art. This should really tell you, if it hasn't already, what the mindsets of dorito pope and the other people in charge of the game awards are. I get it, video games are art, but this is going too far into the "video games are art" side of things.
I feel like asmon fundamentally doesn't understand the concept of a remake and is conflating it with remasters.
I would love it if Dragon Age won, the amount of memes and content that would come out of that would be amazing

@@requiem522They gotta bring it back out last second to steal the GOTY award and then shut it down right after.

@Howardax It would be glorious

They might be afraid of backlash from Nintendo.
@@shahiqyarbouti2635 Could you please tell me if there is anything similar to the original game? The art, plot, and combat mechanics are all completely different.
@@zibass-yp6nd Off the top of my head: The plot, the characters, the locations, the weapons, the magic system, the vehicles, etc.
Plus you said the art style is different, but it’s not. It’s just a modernized version of the original across the board. In fact, everyone looks very similar to their “high-res” versions from the original. Pretending this isn’t the case doesn’t really help prove your point, it just makes you look dishonest.
The thing that annoys me the most about a DLC being nominated for GotY is that they could just make a best DLC category
One thing that annoys me is 40k Rouge Trader getting no recognition at all, anywhere. That game to me was almost just as good a BG3 and it's sad no one talks about it.
Most Warhammer fans don't play the games or buy any of the products, they just watch UA-cam videos about the lore and proclaim themselves as fans
Pathfinder Wotr for me was easily better then BG3, both in gameplay and story. But at the same time, Owlcat can't release a working game to save their life and need an extra year to fix all kinks and bugs in their games. They're releasing broken games in a niche genre, so obviously they're not getting recognition.
