Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated city yet it has one of the best public transport system. So many double-decker bus and tram. Hence few private car, great space management. Roads are narrow but not congested. The only thing they need now is some foot over bridge for road crossing. I hope my city Kolkata will be like this one day. 👍
HK people are already spoiled silly with so many conveniences. More foot bridges is not the answer as the population ages, even with escalators. All credit to the British colonialists for how HK has developed.
There was a lot of "Tram Bunching" where there would be no trams for a little time then 4 in ten seconds! Also why do the bus destination screens flash on and off?
Ciaran 100 LEDs can be made to appear brighter, by increasing the voltage/current and switching them on and off faster than the human eye can detect. Video cameras with a fixed frame rate per second, say 60 fps, may mistmatch the LED flash rate, at say 50 per second, causing the video to show the destination as flashing
There's no pleasing everyone of course. Traffic lights often force the trams to bunch at busy intersections where there is no such thing as overtaking. Some routes are more popular than others.
3:04 if you look at the pawn shop on the left (Tak Wing Pawn Shop), hong kong used to all look like that.
Thanks for watching. 😘

Thanks for watching. 😘
Most interesting ride. Surprisingly little traffic apart from public transport and taxis. When was this taken, and at what time?
Obviously one should avoid the morning and evening rush hours as in any city.
Thanks for watching. 😘

How come the bus destination signs flash? Or do they just not come out right on camera?
EDIT: Nevermind, saw this was addressed elsewhere :)
