In 1980 when i knew him in Bologna, i decided to call my first son Hilal in his honour. I had and still have great respect to this great revolutionary. I asked myself of It wasn't our fault that after the liberation of our country didn't hear of him.He has the same right as all our couragious comrade fighters. So as our ancestors said " someone ho did something for you, should do something in change, if you can't speack of him ". So i like to thank Eri Embassy Media in the Person of Mr. Yared for this interwiew, and hope to see again our comrade Christian (HILAL) may be in our country.
Dear Tegadalay Christian Sabatier (Hilal) I watched all your interview you did with Embassy Media with btsay Yared Tesfai. When you were Tegadalay with EPLF in Sahl I was a kid in Asmara under the dergs regime listening in Dmtsi Hafash from Sahl about you. Now when I grown up I could be able to know & to realize who Christian Sabatier (Hilal) is. Like all heroes Tegadelti, you are also our hero & true Eritrean Tegadalay. Hope one day some time I will see you in Eritrea. Happy 30th Eritrean anniversary!!! Thank you so much btsay Yared Tesfai for all your hardworking.
Hilal, Hilal-good to see you. I heard a lot about you from Berhane Asbu, his wife Tadelesh Zerezghi and their son Fethawe (he was bambino) while you were in Rome at Nakfa house with tegadali Ermias Debessai-Papayo, Estifanos-Bruno (Ambassador To Japan) and other comrades in the mid 70th. Your commitment for inspiring Eritreans of their revolution and your contribution that you set up the Photography and Filming Department is still rolling.
This is interesting story, but it is hard to hear his interview because the music is to loud. You shouldn’t have the music while he is talking. It distracts the information.
Happy independence day to all. It baffles me that mr. Christian sabatier (Hilal) still remembers the names of villages, mountains, people ....etc. Thank you Hilal for been there and telling it. EmbassyMedia / Yared, thank you for this great interview.
Great program. I am a big fun of your site. I also think your sound system needs some work. Especially the background music was very disturbing. Please look in to it, you have a very important and interesting story to tell. Yohana Eritrea.
Hi Yared, I am watching this today for the first time. I must say, of all the Eritreans media that I have seen, you are one of the very few who does the research on your subjects and you do proper introductions Most people don’t even bother to know anything about the perform (I have also seen this in the national tv) and ask boring and repetitive question, such as 1. Tell us about your self. 2. Who this and that 1. The most majority of people, they don’t like to speak about themselves or they see what they did as important as it appeared to others. 2. It breaks the ice and it brings the best out of the people you are interviewing that you actually care about them and the work they have done and build instant trust and humbles them and makes them much comfortable to tell a great story (which the interview is). One suggestion, how ever make sure to have both camera at yiu and the subject and capture their facial reactions. I will give an example, and I hope if you have the clip or the resources of the video to make a story about it. It’s when president Isayas visited New York I believe, a young boy may be age if 10 or 12 speaking in front of the president and describing the sacrifices they made. There was a very small shot of the president looking down, and how I wish to see his face in that moment and what he was thinking. I felt like he was emotional and it would been great to have that million dollar moment captured of our president, who we all knew as tough, standing up guy but he too is a human being. Please think about that, and have a chance to interview him on a personal note. I think it would be a great tragedy that we do not get to interview him personally and get his true emotions and history documented from his personal experiences. And then write autobiography about it. Similar like what Steve Jobs did for his book by Isaccson “he doesn’t want his story told behind him and he has nothing to say about it [after he us gone], Elon has done sane I think. I know this is a huge responsibility but at least try to think about it.
