Me too and with a 2 amp battery. I'm a Dewalt guy and been debating on getting their 20v router or the electric I guess I can go with the 20v. It has to do good for me seeing it do that on a 2 amp, I have all 5 amp batteries so I definitely should be fine.
It's not a issue if you have good sharp bits and let the router do the work. Problem is when you try to go to fast and the plastic starts melting. Then it's a struggle.

I totally agree with you. I just got into a rather weird discussion with a client. She actually turned it into an argument. She tried to tell me that some female electrician she knows. Does electrical work on newly built structures. But doesn't know how to open a wall to run wires. And I told her it's not that she doesn't know how. She just wanted her to gut the walls because it's easier. And she's use to doing rough ins on new construction. But she argued with me saying. She doesn't do construction; she's an electrician. And the more I tried to explain the difference between New Construction and renovations. And electrical is a phase of construction. She says I was wrong. I told her I been doing this stuff for over 20yrs. I know the difference and why she requested the walls and ceilings torn out. I told her I was done talking. So she hung up; then called back 20mins later. Probably to apologize and smooth things over. Because she needs me. But this isn't her first time she has done this to me. So I decided I'm gonna drop her; due to the constant confrontation. And her arguing with me and being totally wrong. What's your opinion on this?
Don't dump her just say it will cost alot more for the full wreck out . ask her if she's ever herd of an electrical chase if she hasn't your wasting your time and just say double the price

My only concern is the cost of those PVC trim boards. I decided to just let the pressure treated show rather than gilding the lily with an extra few hundred dollars.😬
Would be nice if they offered them in half thickness. You could use 1/4 inch white hdpe plastic as an alternative. It's about 90 bucks for a 4x8 sheet.
Hey that’s cool! my first thought on this was that he’s not going to be able to miter his risers into the skirt but with a 45° bit up the sides, he would be able to. only thing is if you don’t have your stringers cut perfectly your router will follow the imperfections and you wont have a nice clean 45° miter… Maybe you would have to cut the stringers with a miter box 🧐
Yeah but then his eye protection will likely steam up from the mask and he wont be able to see anything. Sometimes too much PPE makes it more dangerous
You are absolutely right. So how much plastic have you specifically done away with in your life? Literally EVERY FUCKEN thing you use has plastic in it.
Its basically the same as nuisance dust. An N95 is way more than enough protection. And the fibers are so big from the router cut that its not getting into your lungs anyway.
I routed a long piece of PVC on my deck which is cover with plastic decking, I was so full of static electricity when I was done I was like Thor, I probable could have killed someone!
I cut all of the windows in a large house in just a few minutes : The owner had had us apply the plywood , without cutting , on the outside of the walls . GENIUS !! 😮
He is using a router bit that has a ball bearing on the end. The ball bearing rides on the stair form and only cuts in the middle between the bearing and the router. The only part of the router bit that's cutting is the part that's in contact with the lighter color wood.
Very good now how are you going to handle the joint between the risers and the skirt board? Put the router away and do it right. The correct way to do this is layout the same stair layout on the skirt board then on the riser cut you add the thickness of your riser board and cut a miter joint. So the riser will Meet the skirt board .
