    250ml water =this is equal to 1cup
    625ml white sugar=2and 1/2 cups
    lemon juice 2and 1/2sea spoon
    I used orange juice instead of water and added some cinnamon and a clove of two to the syrup.
    vanilla extract 5ml
    method :
    add water and sugar to a pot stir till dissolved bring to boil ,boil for 7min⏰
    remove from heat add 🍋 lemon juice and vanilla put it in the fridge
    I always leave it over might so I do the syrup one day then the dough and frying the next
    when you put the fried Doug in the syrup you can use two dishes keep one in the fridge and rotate them or put the bowl with syrup in another bowl with ice to keep it extra cold
    Dough ;
    you will need :
    1.1/2 Cups cake flour
    4.1/2 teaspoons of baking foot 🥄
    I added yheats 1.1/2 teaspoons and let it rise a bit .
    1/4 teaspoon salt 🥄
    20grams butter 🧈
    150ml milk 🥛🐄. if you don't use milk you can use vanilla soy milk.
    you can add vanilla to the dough if you want
    750ml oil for frying
    method :mix flour ,salt backing power......... or yheast (if you use yheast slightly warm the milk but not to too hot )
    cut or break butter into small pieces and mix in with milk till a dough forms
    hands are going to be needed for this
    roll out to plat or twist
    I cut rectangles and then slash them twice but not cutting the top
    and plat it into braids pinching the bottom together.
    when oil is hot enough bubbles will come up when you put a fork in the oil or trow a small bit of dough .
    put a few koeksisters in the oil fry till golden brown turning regularly, remove from the oil put it straight into the cold syrup.
    I leave them till they cooled in the syrup the koeksisters must absorb the syrup.
    I work with Frying only 2 to 4 at a time .
    depending on size of batch or dishes I'm using.
