Dude, thanks for this. I’ve been tuning off this app and it makes me tighten the batter head, then half reso the bottom….sounds like ass. Cranked down on the reso head, drop tune the top a little and I couldn’t be happier!
I tried using those apps just to see what would happen and you're right they suck. I'm glad that worked out for you, however I have had some backlash from a couple people saying the way I tune my snare is all wrong. I also have videos how to tune your bass drum and toms.
If you follow the second part of my video and follow the steps you can make any snare sound good. I advise getting new heads but even old heads will work too. I will be doing another snare video I did not explain the snare wires.
@CoreyStantonMusic I've restored an old 6 pieces Yamaha power V special and it look gorgeous, I put an evans hd dry on it. It's a gift for my kids to learn but I'll definitely try to learn too at 45.
Good tips on tuning snares....My only criticism would be is the audio and video are out of sync....it was a little jarring when you where playing. but have subscribed....looking forward to more tuning tips :)
You know what, you are not the ultimate prophet of knowing about good sound bad sound Sounds are not good or bad, sounds are different and completely depend on the taste and context So don't tend to decide on what's crap like you know better than the rest of musicians you are mediocre and generic to me, does it make you overall-bad in the end?
Dude what did he even say to warrant a response like this? You are watchin a video of "How to tune a snare". If you already know how to tune or don't like his opinion why are you watching? He didn't claim to be the Godfather of drum tech. He's just a regular guy with personal experience sharing in case it will help others. Really no reason to be as butt hurt as you are. Go project your insecurities somewhere else.
Well, If you like that. First snare you need some freaking help, That'snare sounds like shit and definitely wouldn't translate live.. Cut the guy a break. He's trying to help out some people.... Good day sir.....🥁
I’ve known Corey for decades. He’s the man on drums and audio. His advice/lessons are gold. No B.S.
@@josephgus5638 Solid, real solid!
Thank you so much for the time you spent on this… Trying to tune my Drums is driving me mad😂😂
It took me a long time to find the sound I was looking for. Hopefully my video helped you. I have a lot more videos on the way so stay tuned.

Bro! The intro and outro sound SO good! I don’t know much about drums, but that snare sounds fantastic to me!
Glad you like it!
Thanks, my snare is now so much better, the old sound was killing me and I didn't know what to do. Thanks again
@@luccasrmp you're welcome!
Very green drummer here, doesbit apply to steel snares too? Got an old Yamaha Power V, don't know what to do...

@lafaina79 that's pretty awesome most parents would get their kids an acoustic guitar but you're going all out and giving them drums.

Thank you, hopefully my video helps a lot of people. I tried to fix the audio I don't know why it's doing that.
Not for nothing but this really should be common knowledge even for beginner drummers
Springs???? I think you mean snare wires.

Thanks for the view and comment I appreciate that. If you're having trouble tuning your toms and or kick drum, stick around.
