even if you don't like Soyeon, she is the reason gidle is what it is. without her there wouldn't be a gidle, she not my favorite in the group but that doesn't mean i don't respect her grind

About the tik tok thing. K-pop is not getting "Westernized", it was always "Westernized" It is based on Western music, like Michael Jackson. Yes, it has elements exclusive to SK, but to say that just NOW k-pop is getting "Westernized" is not true.
Edit: western music, specifically black music, hip-hop is the bigger one.

Kpop takes huge amounts of "inspiration " from black ppls music be it Afro American or African, even dance styles and ways of rapping

    1. I feel like a lot of the motivation behind opinions like this stem from people either being misogynistic or not being used to seeing female producers in Kpop. I personally don't like Soyeon at all but you don't have to like a person to see their talent and credit them for their hard work. Soyeon, as far as I know, takes a big part in the writing and production of their songs and leads her members when they're in the studio because she knows how to incorporate the girls' voices into the songs in the best way to have a satisfying end result that can be sold well. Literally what a producer does. And I never see people saying the same thing about the male idols who write and produce like Yoongi and Namjoon of BTS, 3Racha of Stray Kids, Hongjoong of Ateez, Woozi of Seventeen, G-Dragon and T.OP of Big Bang and the list could go on. It just feels like "when a man does it he's a leader, when a woman does it it's being bossy" energy.
    4. Fanwars don't happen because of the groups and what music they release and how popular they are, fanwars happen because of immature, jealous and hateful people and their incapability to accept differing opinions even if they know that it's not hate but just an opinion because they take it personal, defend their faves without dragging other idols and groups and most likely haven't mentally matured enough to distinguish constructive criticism or something as simple as a different opinion from hate.
    6. Two things with this one.
Something that I find way worse about the Tiktok dance challenges is that it's become a way bigger focus for Kpop idols as well. When they get together for award shows they do each others' dances for Tiktoks when that's a time where they should rest and prepare themselves mentally for the shows, especially if they have performances. But now they have to do other groups' dances which takes away even more of the limited time of quiet they have. Don't get me wrong, a lot of them seem to have great fun doing it but it shouldn't be expected and much less required of them for the sake of promotion.
And secondly, I feel like the "choreographies getting easier" statement evolves mostly around girl groups and it would be better if you either clarify that in your statement or give some example from boy groups as well. Most of the boygroups I stan do not have virtually any easy choreography, for example, for their title tracks.

I look at kpop like the universe.
Theres more than one planet in the universe, theres lots to explore.
If someone says "G.ide is lame!"
I say: there's an whole universe of kpop, those haters can go explore and enjoy instead of hating because they're bored and close-minded.

soyeon needs to take a break from producing if she continues anymore with the cringy english lyrics.
I love (g)i-dle and don’t get me wrong, soyeon is an amazing producer considering a lot of aspects that I won’t get into, soyeon has so much potential as an artist/producer but she has to stop making cringy meaningless lyrics.
The first time there were cringy english lyrics they were featured in ‘tomboy’ and it was obvious she had no intention for these to be cringy. I can understand why she repeated the same cringy english lyrics quota in ‘allergy’.
There are many k-pop groups that have tons of cringy lyrics that make there music iconic but in this case it’s not sticking like it needs too.
now i won’t make any rude remarks towards soyeon herself like “she needs to improve her english” although doesn’t literally every idol? i don’t think her english is the problem in this case because with million dollar companies, there’s no way the cringy lyrics just slid past everyone and staff were like yep this is good, song of the year.
I just hope that the cringy lyrics don’t continue because they really contrast with the messages that soyeon is trying to put into her music and it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
no hate to soyeon, just my personal criticism on her more recent work ❤️

i never said the flower choreo is bad sweetie, i said it was too easy. which is good for jisoo’s sake but i used it as an example for how easy choreographies are these days in kpop.
